Silver Lake Auto Center Inc.

I have had 3 bad experiences with this company. The first was a repair I authorized to take care of a fuel leak. Over the next 48 hours the estimate kept growing until we were over the $500 mark. I authorized the repair, and when the work was done and I went to pick up my vehicle, they told me then that the repair was TEMPORARY! I also bought tires from them and one tire had a slow leak which the last time I brought it in (3 times total), they wanted money from me. I had not even put 300 miles on the tires.
Finally, they happen to be the closest place to where I live to provide Road Assistance and towing. My wife came home from work and within a block from our home the exhaust pipe came down. The flexible pipe wore out. They crushed the catalytic converter loading it on the flatbed tow truck. Then they quoted me $800 to repair the 10 year old vehicle. I looked on line at auto parts stores, and the part was $18. Then they said they couldn't use that part, they had to replace the cat, even though there was little wear on the pipes.
