I hired Silver Star Movers to help me pack and move from my Room-for-Rent to another Room on 4/15/2019 and they lost 1 box fan, area rug, and stool.
I am a 75 year-old Senior Citizen who hired Silver Star Movers to help me lightly pack and move clothing, a bed, dresser and few shelves and items from my Room-for-Rent in West *** to another Room-for-Rent in *** (approx. 6-7 miles away)on 4/15/2019. During unpacking, my daughter and I found that they did not drop off 3 very noticeable items:1 floor electric fan, my area rug, and a dresser stool. We immediately called the Office Assistant, *** who was always very helpful and she said she would ask the guys to check the truck. Upon hearing that nothing was left in the truck, I wanted to know what the next steps were for the moving company to replace these items. Obviously moving from only a bedroom to another bedroom, it is very easy to notice these 3 items as I use the electric fan when I am in the room for air circulation, the area rug is laid out right by my bed, and the sitting stool for my dresser. I called *** to follow up and the owner, who called himself *** got on the phone and told me in his very bullying manner to STOP calling *** and that I need to only deal with him, but that the company will NOT do anything about these 3 missing items. He said that maybe it was dropped off when the TV and stand were dropped off at my daughter's house for disposal but my daughter and I were with the truck the entire time and they did no such thing. These items are NOT in any way expensive but are used by me every day in my room. I am 75 years old and do not need a lot, but I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me in his bullying and discriminatory way, and I would really like those items replaced. How can they even think that I would not notice those 3 items especially since I am NOT moving a whole house!! I only moved from 1 room to another room? I am hoping Revdex.com can assist me as I am too stressed out to deal with this man.

Desired Outcome

I only request that the business replaces the 3 items they lost during the move: 1 electric fan, Area Rug, 1 dresser stool. Either they replace them with brand new items or give me a credit on my card so I can re-purchase these 3 items. Or I can purchase them, provide receipts and they can send me a check. I request to NOT deal with the man, ***, who sounds demeaning and he stresses me out by talking down to me as if I am stupid and would not notice these items missing in my room.

We did move the client, who had our movers put many, but not all, of her things on the curb for disposal. We cannot be sure of where exactly the 3 items at issue were at all times, but it is very possible they went to the curb in the confusion. After scouring our trucks for the items there was no sign of them; when moving we did our best to follow the client's directions, so there is nothing more we can do. We regret if she felt that anyone was rude.
