One of the electric recliners arrived to me broken, does not work. Also, the wedge is of a different stuffing than the rest of the couch.I purchased an electric sectional recliner for $2,000 plus tax. At the time of purchase, I asked if delivery would be available. [redacted] told me yes, for an additional $60. At the time the sectional arrived in the warehouse, I wasn't sure I would be able to get access to a truck to pick up the furniture, so I asked about delivery to which I was told it would be 2 weeks! That was far too long for me. I managed to find someone with a truck and picked up the furniture. So my experience began with partial, mis-leading information and horrible service.It took a few days to get all of the pieces of the couch unpacked and assembled. I was also told upon purchase that it would be very easy to assemble, only a few pieces to snap together. This was not true at all. After getting everything set up, we find that one of the electric reclines is defective. I contacted [redacted] about the defective recliner to which I'm told that I need to bring it into him to look at. Are you serious? I have to bring this piece all the way back to you? I'm a single mother of a 6 month baby and I don't have a truck. Along with the broken recliner, the wedge of the sectional is either not filled as much as the rest of the sectional, or the fabric isn't pulled as taut. Either way, the result is that the wedge looks worn in like it's been sat in for the last 5 years and the lines of the couch are not even. It looks cheap and used. I sent an e-mail to[redacted] that as soon as the weather lifts (it has been cloudy and raining off and on for the last week), that I would be returning the entire sectional because I was unsatisfied with the defective piece as well as the wedge that is not matching the remainder of the couch and therefore causes the entire piece to look bad. I didn't pay $2,000 for brand new furniture that looks used![redacted]'s response is that there is no return policy unless it's still in the boxes. Well, how would I know of the defective recliner or the poor quality of the wedge if it was still in the original box? That makes absolutely no sense and it sounds like a complete cover up for a shady business practice. There was never any mention of there being no return policy when we discussed the purchase and in fact, I was told there is a 5 year warranty. Desired SettlementI offered to bring the sectional back for a refund. It's of poor quality and defective and I expect a refund for my purchase. If I don't get the settlement I'm requesting, I will take this company to court. Business Response Silver State Furniture did get a email stating that the reclining part of the sectional was not working soon after it was picked up (why would you send a email and not call for better and timely communication?). We responded to the email that all the customer had to do is bring the piece back in and we would have it looked at under warranty.Around 2 WEEKS go by, no contact from the customer, then another email is received (again no phone call), stating that the wedge is bad a well? Strange because all customers let us know right away if there is an issue with ANYTHING they purchase.Factory warranties are very specific on how they are handled and are not at the customers convenience or leisure. Returns are only accepted with items in original factory packaging. NO furniture has a 2 week trial basis and if you decide you don't like it, you can return it. The mechanisms in the recliner do have a 5 year warranty from the manufacturer and are covered.We am willing to see about the defective part for the customer but not by email. There has to be personal communication for this to happen.Proper and timely communication along with asking questions about warranties and returns could have prevented this issue.This is our only response to this matter. Please consider this closed.
