Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/12/23) */
We went and did a bid for this customer in October. He came to our business to choose a custom style gate that he wanted us to have made for him. These gates take several weeks to fabricate (cut, weld, powder coat, etc.). The customer was...

scheduled to have his work installed on Wednesday, December 14th. He came into the office on Monday, December 12th requesting a refund. I (the office manager) explained to him that I needed the owner to sign the check and that the owner wanted to talk to him regarding what had happened. He left the office stating that he had no interest in talking to the owner of the company and that since I refused to write him the check that he was going to file a complaint. The owner tried calling him a couple of times and the customer did not answer or call back. At that time, the afternoon of the 12th (the same day he came in), the owner wrote him a refund check. I called him one more time (and had to leave a message) asking if he wanted us to mail the check or if he wanted to pick it up. He called me back at the end of the day asking us to mail the check. We put the check in the mail that afternoon. He cashed the check shortly after. He was refunded his money the same day he requested it. The owner tried talking to him to see the details of what had happened, but the customer had no interest in explaining what had happened to him.

We were hired to inst**l a rail and wire fence for this customer. She wanted the exact same fence she had, but t**ler as her dog was "climbing on the deck and jumping over". We have a contract stating that she wanted a 6' t**l rail and wire...

fence. We tore out the existing 4' rail and wire fence and inst**led a new 6' one exactly the same as her old 4' one. After completion, she notified us that she wanted us to close off a gap where the wire did not extend up to the house. The owner went to inspect the property himself and cut the edges of the wire and placed a temporary board to close the gap. She then claimed that she wanted the wire on the inside of the fence and not the outside. The owner offered to put and addition** wire on the inside for her and she refused. She is complaining about the differences in coloration of the wood, but **l wood varies in color and grain. It is the same wood used throughout the project (**l new for her fence). Also, when the owner c**led her to let her know he was coming out with a crew to correctly close the gap, she asked him about the wire. He told her that he wanted to come to the house to t**k about her options and she refused to **low him or the crew members to be on her property. She has since requested her down payment from her credit card company and is still not **lowing us on the property.
Initi** Consumer Rebutt** /* (3000, 13, 2017/09/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I NEVER NEVER NEVER said that I wanted the exact same fence. I wanted the fence line to be the same as the fence they were removing. the new fence needed to be t**ler and I wanted the wire hung on the inside. I spoke with three other estimators, I stated that I wanted the wire hung inside the rails. when ** stated on two separate occasions, august 25th and again in a phone conversation on august 29, that he would not remove the rails to rehang the wire, I stated that it would not be necessary to return to my home because a) it would not be the fence I ordered, b) his offers would give me a fence that appears as if amateurs inst**led it.
a rhetoric** question, what profession** fence inst**ler leaves a seven inch gap with wires poking out on an enclosure knowing that there are dogs that are supposed to be kept contained and safe within this enclosure?
as my origin** complaint stated, I am well aware that there are natur** variations in wood. my father was a carpenter and contractor. I know a little about lumber. the wood they used came from multiple different lots.
I **so know how to use a tape measure something homer and [redacted] apparently did not have access to. the spacing on the posts are random. this was an issue that I did not pursue at the time, as ** simpson's refus** to remove the rails would prevent any other corrections from being made properly.
I was very upset with the fence silve state built and billed me for, and the tone ** took with me was unsettling. I was **one when he came to my home on the 25 august. he tried to steamroll me into accepting [redacted] rigged fixes and then proceeded to tell me why I did not need a fence with the wire hung inside. ** was not the man who took the measurements, [redacted] was. I assume [redacted] goes out and speaks with dozens of people regarding dozens of projects. I am one person, who spoke to only four estimators regarding one project. in each case I stated I wanted the wire hung to the inside. I believe [redacted] may have forgotten that part of our conversation. based on the way ** spoke to me, i'd be afraid to admit that I forgot an important detail like that if I was his employee.
the last contact that I have had with silver state was august 29. their response to my Revdex.com complaint implies that they made other attempts to contact me to resolve my issues. that is not the case. I did receive a certified letter which was dated 29 august, mailed on 31 august and I picked up said letter from the post office on september 13. the letter states that they "the undersigned s*l cause claim of lien to recorded against the residenti** project..."
I have available more photos, and copies of the other estimates that I spoke of, of course the certified letter. please let me know what I can do to further assist the Revdex.com in getting my complaints resolved. thank you
Fin** Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2017/10/06) */
We have never once had a complaint regarding the tone or demeanor of the owner of the company. He has built his business on customer service and word of mouth. Part of doing that is working with the customer and assuring they are happy. This homeowner is not happy with any part of her fence **l the way down to the coloration of the wood. She claims that she would like the fence removed. She has now filed a complaint with the contractor's board. We have a meeting scheduled at the end of next week. At this point we are waiting for that meeting to determine how to move forward and settle this dispute. Thank you.
