All of the following occurred on a Friday afternoon. This tow company is closed Friday at 5pm until Monday, and so the tow company can collect 2 days of additional impound fees if a car is not collected by this time Friday evening.I had a rental car impounded by the police. It was towed by Silver State Towing. In my attempts to reclaim the car I was discouraged or given misinformation for what I believe was an attempt to delay my reclamation of the vehicle so that additional impound fees could be collected. There were several actions that were questionable. They are as follows:When I contacted SST and explained that I was trying to retrieve a rental car I was very specific in asking what I would need to reclaim a rental car. They told me I would only need a drivers license that proved I was the renter. I was very clear that it was a rental car and they were very clear in letting me know they understood it was a rental car. When I finally made it to their shop, they told me I needed to have a representative from the rental agency be there as well. I believe this was one tactic to delay my reclamation of the vehicle.When I contacted SST to find out where they were located, they gave me a street address that was incomplete although I could not tell at the time. The address they gave was a general address for a large industrial park. When I arrived at the address I discovered this, that there were about 200 businesses at that address. When I called SST from the industrial park the woman who answered was very rude and upset that I had come to get my car so quickly. She put me on hold for 10 minutes before giving me the rest of the address. I believe this was an additional attempt to discourage me from collecting the car on Friday afternoon. When I arrived at SST after much trouble, the woman who I had spoke to on the phone addressed me as "the criminal who wanted the rental car" and told me they would be keeping the car over the weekend and that she would not release it to a criminal.Desired SettlementI would like the general public to know how poorly this business conducts itself. It's no secret that towing companies are among the shadiest, dirtiest, white-trashiest businesses a person can own. This company sets a new low standard for taking advantage of the public's need for a service and should not be used by the police as a go-to towing company.
