Review: I am submitting a complaint in behalf of my 18 y/o son and his schoolmates.[redacted], asst property manager for the Pole line apartment refuses to refund my son & his schoolmates the $600 security deposit given on 2/14/15 even though the rental deposit receipt clearly states that applicant has to be approved and a unit has to be available and if this two is satisfied, the applicant has 72 hours to cancel in writing. In this instance, my son and his schoolmates has not been given approval nor is a unit available and held off the rental market at the time I called to cancel on 2/26/15 and at the time my husband gave a written cancellation notice on 2/28/15. My son and his schoolmates wanted to sign a lease on 2/14/15 but was told they could not because there was no unit available. We have asked if they could just write the unit number once it becomes available and was told no. [redacted] stated that they would not know until end of March what unit is going to be available.Desired Settlement: We would like to get a refund for the $600.00 deposit we gave.Note: [redacted] also stated that this has happened before so it appears that he is taking advantage of young adults who has not signed any apartment lease or contract and does not understand what the contract fully states. This should is not acceptable and must not be allowed to continue. We hope that Revdex.com would look into this issue more closely and protect our young adults.Your assistance is appreciated.
