I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me as long as they continue to follow through with completing the work. I will wait until October 15, for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved Otherwise, I will re-open the complaint for further action

I am happy to address the concern that was submitted to the Revdex.com. I will present factual accounting of events. Please let me know if any additional information or documentation is needed, as all of our dealings with this customer is recorded in Contract form and in email
correspondence.Silverthorne Homes sells homes in ways: 1.) 80% of our business is building homes in communities that we have already developed. 2.) 20% is building 'On Your Lot', where customers contact us to build on land they already own or are seeking to acquire. This gentleman was looking at building 'On Your Lot'. In addition to building the home, he also needed us to help him acquire the land (a service which we complete with no fee). He was looking to build upon a lot off of *** *** in ***The buyer signed a Purchase Agreement up front, which outlined our process for an 'On Your Lot' build. This Purchase Agreement very clearly spells out that a minimum of $1,in earnest money is required to begin the process. $of this earnest money is non-refundable due (which is unique for 'On Your Lot' builds, and is required to the additional up-front work required for due-diligence.As a standard part of our process, the customer was met by Scott T***, Regional Construction Manager for Silverthorne Homes on the home site he was looking to make an offer on. During this meeting, site conditions are evaluated for to judge (on a very preliminary level) if the home will fit on the home site, and to provide a rough-estimate of site improvement costs. It was determined that the home would most likely fit. At the time, Scott Thompson estimated that lot improvement costs (tree clearing, utility runs, driveway...etc) would run around $15,000. After this point, and upon preliminary verbal confirmation that this was acceptable by the Buyer, we began doing our due diligence on the piece of land investing time in researching utility locations, completing preliminary lot surveys, and in data entry into our software. After our due diligence, we presented our lot improvement findings to this customer. Actual costs greatly exceeded $15,due to unique and unforeseen underground lot issues with utilities. However, we waived the additional costs and agreed to move forward at a total of $15,for lot improvement costs. The purchase fell apart during the time that we attempted to acquire the piece of ground for the customer. We worked (with no fee) to purchase the land for the Buyer, but at a price the Buyer required, which was significantly below market value. The Buyer decided to withdraw from negotiations, and the land was never purchased. While we were certainly disappointed that the customer decided to withdraw from the purchase of the land, we cannot control their "offer price" for the land. We fulfilled all obligations on our end for this customer. Moreover, we worked tirelessly up-front under short deadlines to procure the necessary information. We also reduced fees on our end in efforts to make this work out for this customer.Upon the execution of the mutual release for this buyer, the retention of the earnest money was again explained, though it was already initially noted in the Purchase Agreement. Please let me know if you need any further information.Best Regards,Nathan C***Regional Sales Manager, Silverthorne [email protected](317)504-
