We understand and appreciate the guarantor's frustration about receiving a hospital bill for the emergency roomservice, ED Physician and possibly radiologistLikewise, the same can be said for the upcoming inpatient admissionthat his wife will be having which will also may include statements from other contracted services.All hospitals, not just Legacy Silverton (Providence, OHSU, Peacehealth, Salem, etc) are not a single account billermeaning not all services are captured under one single account numberPhysicians, anesthesiologist, radiologist,and the hospital itself are all billed unde'r separate tax identification numbers and therefore are billable as separateentities resulting in separate billings both to the insurance carrier and ultimately to the patient.Likewise, while all patient medical records are housed under a medical record number unique for each patient,each separate visit will result in its own independent billing for that visit subject to its own benefit review andprocessing by the insurance carrier and subsequent billing to the patient.I would be happy to reach out and discuss this matter with Mr [redacted] if the need exists.Respectfully,Matt B [redacted] / Payor Management Analyst / [redacted] *** / Patient Business ServicesConversation with Mr [redacted] 8-31-17:I spoke with Mr [redacted] While he was still not completely satisfied, I explained he is welcome to an itemizedstatement shortly after each account is billed, I provided respective customer service numbers as well as myinformation, via email, as a point of contact for him for his wife's upcoming maternityHe was happy with this endresult, just not the system as a whole
