Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me However, customer service to a customer for this type of investment should not take as long as this process has taken and subjected our family to mold/structural damageAs a consumer not being able to access the roof easily, or trained to specify the source of these types of problems, I then can only rely on specialist to identify the problem for meI am accepting the response for this complaint, as after over a year, the company finally took extra steps to run the water into the vent pipe to show the proof of how the leak transpired down to the ceiling, rather than only suspecting that was the problemI can only suspect that when having your roof repaired and during the process of the removal of one roof and the application of a new roof, that it is not only coincidental of a vent pipe, that you are constantly working around, could just come unglued without being bumped or jarred due to the work being performed around itI would hope in the near future, and Koontz mentioning that they have seen this problem at several other houses, that they would do their due diligence of customer service and check those apparatuses that they are working around to ensure future customers don't have a hole in their ceiling after receiving a brand new roof, which is the sole purpose of preventing such an issue, or have to incur additional plumbing costs to get this fixed after spending a large amount of money for the roofWhen paying this much for a home expense, I would hope they would keep this in mindCustomers really do appreciate complete customer service Regards, [redacted]

Attn Revdex.com   I received a letter notifying us of a complaint by the [redacted]’s. This is our response.   We did put a new roof on their house at [redacted] in April of 2012. They called us later that year and stated they had a leak in their roof. We sent repair techs out to try to find a...

problem with the roof and were unable to find anything. Over the following years we were called and came out several times to try to find the source of the water as it continued to show up on their ceiling. In August of this year one of my repair techs got in their attic during a rain and discovered that one of the fittings in the plumbing vent pipe was leaking as it was not sealed/glued correctly. We informed the [redacted]s that this was the problem and suggested they call a plumber to come and check it out. We are not licensed to do plumbing work.   We then received a call on 11/21/16 stating the leak was still present and that 2 different plumbers had told them there was no way it was in the pipe but had to be the roof. We returned the call at 8:30am on the 21st and left a voicemail which was not returned. On 11/28 I received another email and call regarding the problem. We responded to the email and made an appointment for Tuesday the 29th. At that appointment we had one tech get on the roof and run water down the vent pipe while another watched in the attic. The water came out of the joint in the pipe as we had seen before. We had Mr [redacted] look in the attic while the pipe was leaking  so he could see the problem and he agreed it was the vent pipe not the roof flashing. He thanked the guys for coming and was very cordial.   We do not feel a responsibility to repair the ceiling as the problem was not related to the roof installation. I can only say it is a coincidence that it appeared around the same time. The plumbing pipe was never glued together correctly when the house was built.   Josh Koontz President Koontz Construction Inc 812-876-2722

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me.   However, customer service to a customer for this type of investment should not take as long as this process has taken and subjected our family to mold/structural damage. As a consumer not being able to access the roof easily, or trained to specify the source of these types of problems, I then can only rely on specialist to identify the problem for me. I am accepting the response for this complaint, as after over a year, the company finally took extra steps to run the water into the vent pipe to show the proof of how the leak transpired down to the ceiling, rather than only suspecting that was the problem. I can only suspect that when having your roof repaired and during the process of the removal of one roof and the application of a new roof, that it is not only coincidental of a vent pipe, that you are constantly working around, could just come unglued without being bumped or jarred due to the work being performed around it. I would hope in the near future, and Koontz mentioning that they have seen this problem at several other houses, that they would do their due diligence of customer service and check those apparatuses that they are working around to ensure future customers don't have a hole in their ceiling after receiving a brand new roof, which is the sole purpose of preventing such an issue, or have to incur additional plumbing costs to get this fixed after spending a large amount of money for the roof. When paying this much for a home expense, I would hope they would keep this in mind. Customers really do appreciate complete customer service.
