Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me It was strange to me that the business specified which family member had contacted the company as though we don't communicate with each other, and it would have been nice for them to bother to spell our names correctly, but the information that we originally requested is in the response Regards, [redacted]

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: (a) Metropolitan did not speak to [redacted] at all during this process; (b) I [redacted] spoke to the secretary only and did not speak to anyone else during this process; (c) the secretary with whom I spoke said that she would pass this information on to the manager; (d) I was never contacted by any managerSo I cannot understand how this issue could have been address without any contact whatsoever with the manager Metropolitan did no scheduling with me because we never spoke with anyone there except with the secretary Since there was no response from Metropolitan, I had to take action to fix my roof to mitigate further damage In addition, no one wants the interior of their home ruin by water, especially when rain was forecasted for the night The warranty in my possession states years and does not specify material only The registered letter was sent to the White Plains office on December 31, and was returned to me approximately two (2) weeks ago Since the return of the letter, I called the office on April 15, and spoke to the secretary who reluctantly gave her name as Selby I asked her to put me in contact with Jeff T*** She placed me on hold for a while and then returned to let me know that MrT [redacted] is at a meeting and will call me later To date I have not received a call from MrT*** On April 16, 2015, I called again and the secretary told me that MrT [redacted] was on vacationI asked her if I could speak with the person currently in charged whom she identified as Tracy Bowie The secretary placed me on hold and never returned, neither did MsBowie calledDuring my interaction with Metropolitan, they have been evasive and not forthcoming in resolving this matter I am therefore requesting that Metropolitan pay for the repairs done to the roof The following attachments I will submit by fax or mailRegards, [redacted] Attachments: Copy of contract Copy of registered letter Copy of Metropolitan’s address acquired from the Court House in Upper Marlboro Copy of receipt for repairs to roof

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Not until now was I made aware of this being a pre-existing condition and it was only twice that someone came to my home to assess the concernThere was never a statement made of a pre-existing condition. There was never anyone ever available when I could be home to show them the area of concern and for them to explain the problem to me. The gutter issue was initially bought to my attention when I had a professional company (Ned Stephens) to clean my gutters on a regular basis (approx2-years ago). They advised me of the problem and quoted me a price. I advised the company that they were still under Warranty and I will bring it to the attention of Metropolitan sidingI recently hired another gutter cleaning company and they brought the same thing to my attention. I really do not believe that Metropolitan is aware of the direct area that I am speaking of. This problem did not exist until after I had them install the roof and gutters. Prior to months ago it had been a while since I contacted Metropolitan but within the last months of me calling I never received a return callThat could have been the time that they could have advised me that it was a pre-existing conditionI am the consumer and they could have had the professionalism to contact me.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
The agreement from the complaint indicated the company would contact me to come to recheck the roof and they would provide a reimbursement of 1/the amount I had previously paid for the roof repairI have not heard anything from MetropolitanNo one has contacted me to follow up on the roof repair and I have not received any reimbursementI understand from their statement in the previous complaint that they do not provide a warranty; however, I was told the repair work would last up to yearsIt failed within weeksI do also agree the recurrence of leaking was a one time event after the initial repairDespite multiple rain events since then I don't "see" any further visible leakingI don't know why other than it may have been the severity of rain with wind that resulted in the leakingI am concerned there may be unseen damage still occurringI just would like it rechecked to be sure I won't be facing further damage to my roof and ceiling in the futureI have no idea what snow melting on the roof will cause

In response to the complaint filed by *** ***: *** *** did contact Metropolitan Exteriors on October , at 9:17am AND October @ 12:pm At which time we took all necessary information and created a work order for our lead foreman Victor *** *** was then put
into our system to have the repair looked at and serviced, she went into our system and would have been addressed when scheduling permitted We assume that this was not a timely enough of a response so *** *** chose to hire another contractor to repair her roofIf *** *** would have waited until we could get to her as our schedule permitted, should it have been a minor repair we would have kindly done it at a discounted rate or at no charge, even considering that she is well beyond her year labor warranty with Metropolitan The year warranty stated on her contract is for material only thru the manufacturer After the initial phone calls on October 6, Metropolitan has no record of *** *** calling again and we have no record of any registered mail coming to our office We did re-locate in , and if she had sent it to the old Waldorf address it would have been returned to her Our phone numbers have never changed. Metropolitan believes that we should not be responsible for sharing the cost in a repair for a roof that is years beyond its warranty We do pride ourselves in customer service and had we been given the opportunity to come and fix the leak we would have done so. Thank you

I had to contact the company to accept there offer to come out on Saturday I was not here that day to know if they came.[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I met with *** *** initially on 5-12-and gave an estimate for $to install 2- 2-3ft pieces of missing soffit and re secure small section of loose fascia cappingIt was our minimum to come out and do a repairCustomer accepted contract
Installer came out a few days
later and noticed that there were gaping holes in the roof near the eaves and that the fascia board was rotted in several areas and that there might be a possibility of rotting to the rafter tails that the fascia board holds on to There was also a double layer of shingles The work could not be done for the initial repair Customer was notified and she said that she had just bought the house in the winter time I asked if she had a home inspection and she said yes I asked if the home inspector looked at the roof and she said no because there was snow on the roof
*** *** wanted an estimate for the roof and was met on 5-28-and emailed the roof estimate
Customer went with another contractor for the roof
Customer was given the option to have the gutter replace and was verbally told that the re secure of the small section of fascia capping and replacement of missing pieces of soffit would be no additional charge because my installers would already be there Estimate was sent for $to replace the back gutter and reconnect existing downspout with the small sections fascia capping and replacement of missing soffitIt was recommended to have the front gutter done at the same time Total for this would be $ Customer accepted the contract At no point was there a price to replace fascia boards on our part Customer said that roofing company would replace the bad fascia boards Roof got replaced and metros installers came out the next day to replace the front and rear main gutters No soffit replacement was needed Office emailed the final invoice with no response until recently I think MRMoffit was the one emailing his concern about the soffit and re secure of the small section of fascia cappingSince there was some sort of miss communication we deducted $from the final bill The price is the same when it comes to doing gutters whether we are removing and hauling away the old or if we are just adding new to nothing there If he would like and itemized bill is 50/labor vs materials If we were at $contract amount minus $in good faith it will total $ labor and material cost

We have reached out *** *** and have set up for an installer to come out to his residence today We will figure out the problem that is taken place and have it taken care of , as long as it is something we previously doneI never received any emails from *** ***, in which Tracy provided him the
email address the other day to confirm he had the correct oneOur installer will be out to his residence in about minutes to take a look at the problem he states he is having with his gutters

Omar has contacted the homeowner , and everything has been completedIt was nothing to do with the gutter that we installed , it was the homeowners fascia board in which we fixed at no cost ( it was not installed by our company) But we went ahead and repaired it anywaysSince then, Omar has
contacted the homeowner and left her full voicemails in her voicemail box and she has not responded back to Omar's voicemail
Thank you

*** *** called the office yesterday 12/30/and explained what was going on, I Tracy the office manager explained to her that Jeff was out of town; should be returning by noon or laterAs soon as he returns I would be sure to give him the message to give her a call by
c.o.b or todayJeff has called her several times and left messagesAt this very moment 11:am , Jeff T*** is on the telephone with her arranging services.

From: *** *** Date: Sun, Oct 30, at 10:AMSubject: Re: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania in regards to your complaint #***.To: Revdex.com Hello,My complaint, ID#***, has been addressed by Metropolitan Exteriors IncThe gutter was repaired and the shingles were replaced in a timely mannerMetropolitan ExtInchas shone due diligence in addressing these issues. They should have never happened, however the company came back and made it right, and that is all I was asking for them to do.Thank you for helping me to get this company to call back and do the repairs.Regards,*** ***Glenelg MD

In response to the accusation set forth by *** *** , the issue that exists is a pre existing oneThe gutters were installed properly; as I had sent someone out several times to checkHowever there is an absence of a truss tail which was never install or framed when the house was
originally builtThe builder nailed the fascia board to the end of the existing rake board to hold it together on the endWe re screwed the fascia board to the end of the rake board to try and hold them togetherThe repair will be very involved and lengthy and was not a portion of our contract*** *** is in the mindset that this is an issue that Metropolitan needs to take care of , however it is a pre existing condition and will require major carpentry work that was not part of our original contractAlso the issue did not come to light util the fascia board pulled away from the house some years later exposing the pre-existing conditionFeel free to contact me with any questions

In response to the above complaint we did enter into a repair contract with *** *** on 5/21/we completed the repair on Saturday May 31st *** *** did contact our office about two weeks ago and stated the roof was currently leaking We attempted to resend out our crew,
which they did not in fact show up when scheduled by our office and since that time D*** has been terminated from employment by Metropolitan because that standard of work ethic we find to be unacceptable and will not allow our workers to treat our valued customers in such a manner That being said, the original repair seemed to have worked for months prior to *** ***'s phone call to tell us it was leaking again, repair work does not carry any warranty as it is a repair and not a replacement We would like to resolve this by sending one of our other tech's out either Thursday morning or Friday morning whichever works best for her In addition to that, we would like to refund half of her purchase price for her inconvenience

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: (a) Metropolitan did not speak to *** *** at all during
this process; (b) I *** *** spoke to the secretary only and did not speak
to anyone else during this process; (c) the secretary with whom I spoke said
that she would pass this information on to the manager; (d) I was never
contacted by any managerSo I cannot understand how this issue could have been
address without any contact whatsoever with the manager.
Metropolitan did no scheduling with me because we never
spoke with anyone there except with the secretary
Since there was no response from Metropolitan, I had to take
action to fix my roof to mitigate
further damage. In addition, no one
wants the interior of their home ruin by water, especially when rain was
forecasted for the night
The warranty in my possession states years and does not
specify material only. The registered
letter was sent to the White Plains office on December 31, and was
returned to me approximately two (2) weeks ago.
Since the return of the letter, I called the office on April 15,
and spoke to the secretary who reluctantly gave her name as Selby. I asked her to put me in contact with Jeff
T***. She placed me on hold for a
while and then returned to let me know that MrT*** is at a meeting and will
call me later. To date I have not
received a call from MrT***
On April 16, 2015, I called again and the secretary told me
that MrT*** was on vacationI asked her if I could speak with the person
currently in charged whom she identified as Tracy Bowie. The secretary placed me on hold and never
returned, neither did MsBowie calledDuring my interaction with
Metropolitan, they have been evasive and not forthcoming in resolving this
matter
I am therefore requesting that Metropolitan pay for the
repairs done to the roof
The following attachments I will submit by fax or mail. Regards,*** ***
Attachments:
1.
Copy of contract
2.
Copy of registered letter
3.
Copy of Metropolitan’s address acquired from the
Court House in Upper Marlboro
4.
Copy of receipt for repairs to roof
