Simotes Motor Sales, Inc. Reviews (6)

The vehicle was towed in Friday afternoon on October We looked at it the next day (Saturday)The extended warranty DOES cover rental coverage but the customer refused to get a rental car and be reimbursed for it when there is a problem with the vehicleAlso, after three mechanics looked at the
vehicle it has been determined that there is no transmission issueIt was operator errorThe vehicle has been picked up by the customer and as far as we knew there were no other complaints

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/08/04) */
Contact Name and Title: *** - Manager
Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX
Contact Email: ***@gmail.com
The *** was purchased on February 11, for $3,On the "We Owe" form, there were TWO things promised to the customer
These items promised were a windshield and oxygen sensor (we can supply the "We Owe" form which is signed by the customer)On the form, it states that the vehicle is sold AS IS AND SHOWN other than the items promisedBoth items were fixed by *** Automotive after the sale
The customer came back once because the company who installed the windshield did not apply the rear view mirror correctlyWe properly installed the mirror for them when they came back in at no charge
The opening of this Revdex.com case is our first knowledge of any other complaintsWe have been leaving messages on the customer's personal phone and also work phone for the last two weeks with no responseRegardless, we would gladly fix any of the items promised if they were not fixed properly the first time
At this point, Simotes Motor Sales considers this case closed
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/08/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The first time my car was in the shop to get repaired, the repairs where not fixed properlyI did not even pull off the lot & the light came back on and the first bump I hit, the rearview mirror fell of the window & almost caused me to wreckThe car was also running worse then when I brought it inI was told it was going to be an hour or two & spent a full hours sitting in the waiting roomI immediately called & spoke with the shop supervisorHe said that there were other things that would they noticed that could have been causing the issuesWe scheduled a day to bring it in where I could drop it off
Again, the 2nd time I picked it up not even pulling off your lot & the light came on againI again called but it took me awhile to get back ahold of the shop managerWhen I finally did he said that any further repairs would have to be approved from the sales manager or owner & would have one of them call meI had left numerous messages for several months with no return calls until I filed this complaintSo, no the original "we owe" have not been completed as what we were told by your mechanics was wrong is still happening after visits to your shopThese "we owes" were actually a big concern of mine before we purchased the vehicleThe sales lady actually promised us that if we came back the following day to complete the sale, she would make sure these "little" issues would be fixed so we wouldn't have to worry about any of thisThere should have never been any "we owes" to begin with as per our original agreement to purchase the vehicle
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2015/08/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As we stated before, this is our first knowledge of extra complaintsMyself, our General Manager and salesman are all unaware of messages left which leads me to believe that none were left for "months"We have been in business for years and always take care of our customers, especially for things promisedRegardless, the offer is still on the table to fix the engine light
Last we knew, *** Automotive fixed the oxygen sensor and another outside company put in the new windshieldThe fact that the glass company did not put the rear view mirror on perfectly should not have happened, but that was not usIn fact, we replaced it properly for the customer and should be a non-issueIf the oxygen sensor did not fix the engine light as the customer is saying, we would happily still fix itI am confused as to why this is still an open case because the only issue I am aware of we are still offering to fixWe can make an appointment Monday-Friday 8am-4pm or on Saturday 8am-1pmPlease let us knowThank you

We always try to help out customers in any way that we canUnfortunately, the customers' requests of us fixing brake lines and an axle after months and 6,miles of ownership on a 15-year-old truck is very unreasonableWe would certainly give a substantial discount to any repair work needed,
however.Customer also had a 3rd party warranty on their truck that was a payment plan, but they decided to stop paying itIf the warranty was paid for, it is possible that many repairs would be covered under the warranty.Being a local business for over years, we will always try to help the customer out in any way possibleIf there is service work still needed to be done, we will certainly see what type of price we can get for the customer

Unfortunately, it looks as though there has been some type of miscommunication between our service department and sales staffThe plug in charger is at the dealership and apparently was never mailed out as it was supposed to beThat will be mailed out with a security signature required. As for the
sales tax, no tax would ever be charged on purpose if we were not supposed to collect itIf there was some sort of mistake made, the taxes would have been returnedAlso, Grant *** never did any paperwork with the customer, so I am unsure of where that whole topic is coming fromEither way, the part is being mailed out and should take care of any problemsWe apologize for all the confusion

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
There were items that I am supposed to get that Grant wrote into my copy of the contractOne is the charger and the other is a Tire mobility kit as that model of car does not come with a spare tireIt is esentially some kind of fix a flatPlease send both items ASAPThank hou very much***
Sincerely,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: my husband was in owner for less then 6 months and we also placed less then 6,000 miles on the truck .  My husband and I will be pursuing this further because it is a clear example of illegal non- disclosure. They replaced the brakes but not the horribly rusted brake lines . I would like to the the Revdex.com for helping with this issue , but we have started the process to pursue further .   We understand it is a 15 year old truck , but I have purchased much older cars and was disclosure all of the issues. Speaking with several mechanics about the rusted brake lines we have grown to know that if in fact they did replace the brakes as they stated they would over noticed the years of rust on the brake lines and known that it was unsafe to sell the truck.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
