Review: I scheduled an appointment via the business website, for Monday, July 8, 2013 at 6:30pm at Simple Beauty Spa for a classic manicure and pedicure. I had purchased this $23 service through [redacted], which was an awesome deal. I received an appointment confirmation from Simple Beauty Spa via email, for July, 8 2013 at 6:30pm. Their business address is 4625 Convoy Street, San Diego, CA 92111 in a plaza hidden in a corner. I show up early at 5:45pm on July 8. The door was locked. I knocked a few times, no answer. So I call the business phone number 3 times. The first time I left a message asking them why the door was closed. The other 2 calls, no one answered. I waited until 6pm to see if someone would open the door or call me. At this time, I was upset that no one called me back and the door was still closed. No sign on the door. So I decided to leave as it was a waste of my time. It is now July 13, still no call back or email from Simple Beauty Spa. I understand I was early, but I came during business hours, as it was posted on their website. I do not understand why this business is still up and running. I feel that this business is a waste. I can't believe this happened to me. I still love [redacted] and they already processed my refund for the classic manicure and pedicure that I was supposed to receive. However, Simple Beauty Spa is still responsible for apologizing and compensating for the waste of gas and time. RE: Client that she show up the time which we didn't reschedule.

I did respond on the July 18th 2013 at 6pm. Maybe I didn't operate the computer system correctly and sorry for the late respond. The Manicurist, [redacted], went to open the door at 6:10pm on July 18th for 6:30pm appointment. She had waited for 2 hours but no one showed up and she decided to leave. According to the Spa policy, customer whether show up or not, manicurist still will get pay. The company would lose income due to the customer didn't show up at her appointment time correctly. In this case, customer came early and left before the her appointment time. Therefore, we do not responsible for her any lost, besides, customer should provide the spa the bar code to redeem her voucher since she has made the appointment at 6:30pm. The spa is by appointment only and also the [redacted] said it is by appointment not walk in. We didn't provide phone # for customer to call us at the [redacted], so we don't expect any phone call. The reason we lock the door is for security reason. The police department asked us to lock the door 13 months ago since two of our staff's wallets had been stolen by some strange visitors. The case has been still under investigation. Customer can contact the police department for further detail. Our manicurist did come 20 minutes in advance of the appointment and waited 2 for hrs. Spa owner did pay for her services. Customer should pay us back the manicure and pedicure $23.
