August 23, 2016RE: CASE # ***Dear Revdex.com,The following is my response to the *** *** complaintIt is my understanding that there are two issues here, method of clinical evaluation and pricing of services.Method of Clinical EvaluationAt the time of her consultation and
evaluation I used the following tools, Patient interview to discuss chief complaint/medical history Zyto testing: based on the principles of Electro Acupuncture According to Voll(EAV), a bio communication device used in the clinical decision making processBody Composition Analysis: provides information on body hydration, visceral fat, which is a primary indicator for developing diabetes and heart disease, BMI, age, weight and metabolic age, which is an indicator of is the person aging faster or slower than normal. The proper information was used to develop a customized nutritional protocolThe fact that *** *** began losing weight immediately and started the detoxification process is proof of that.I disagree with *** *** that doing a new blood draw would have made any difference in her clinical outcome. The reliance of blood tests to develop a healing balancing protocol is ineffective because they don’t explain the physiological relationships that produce the imbalance in the first placeNot only that, but they are fraught with negativesI have seen countless patients with lab work within limitswho suffer from profound fatigue, inability to lose unwanted weight, sleep and digestive issues, to name a fewRoutinely these patients are provided medications that simply cover up their symptoms, ignoring the underlying imbalances. On the other side of the spectrum when people do have positive lab findings such as high blood pressure or cholesterol, again the typical medical approach is to simply provide a drug to artificially suppress and “normalize” the lab findings, without addressing the underlying cause, which in my opinion is due to chronic inflammation and dehydration. Based on the clinical information gathered, it was determined that *** *** was a candidate for our programAs part of the program each patient is given a journal and manual that explains and guides them through the process A full report is also provided based on the Zyto findingsWithin that report is a section on “detoxification” Detoxification is part of the healing process and is extremely well documented in the medical literature*** *** experienced symptoms from detoxificationThey were uncomfortable for her, so she stopped the programOnce she stopped the symptoms went away. It is common to experience symptoms during the healing processTypical examples include headaches from caffeine withdrawal or sugar cravings with alcohol withdrawalThe detox process is very similar. As part of our patient management, we ask patients to return days for a follow up BCA so we can track and document their progress*** *** made it very clear from the beginning she was too busy to do thatShe never returned once for a follow upShe was gone for weeks at a time out of town. Her preferred method of communication was textingShe let me know that she was also working with her doctor, so in my opinion she was well being well managedThis is evident by the fact that she had additional lab work done under his supervision while she was detoxingAll findings returned as normal, which further demonstrates that her symptoms were from the detox process and not from any physical harm.Pricing of ServiceIt is my understanding that pricing of services is the decision of the business and is not regulated by the stateIn my years of practice, *** *** is the first one to complain about our price structure. Our prices are as follows:$for initial consultation/review of medical history and chief complaintIncludes BCA$for Zyto exam$for customized homeopathic formulas, X = $450*** *** was not charged for all her supplements, only the homeopathic formulas that were produced for her$for the manual and journal: proprietary information on how to do the programThe number of pages has no bearing on the value of the information.$for each week in the programThere is transparency in our financial policy*** *** was provided a copy of our financial and refund policy which she read and signed on 3-2-15.A copy is provided for your review. In my professional opinion it is not reasonable to demand a full refund when products and services have been providedIn the allopathic/medical model of care, countless patients are provided medications and surgeries that either don’t work or make them worseFull refunds are not expected or normally asked forIt’s called practice for a reasonThe clinician adapts and tries another approachThat’s why I offered to continue to work with *** ***, because I am certain she would have been benefitted if given the opportunity. The refund was offered based on the refund policy she signed. It appears we are at an impasseIt is up to her and myself to come to a compromise we are both happy withI propose returning 2/3rds of her fee, but not 100%That would be $1, If that is acceptable to her, please let us know and we will send it out ASAP
