Did not fulfill relocation contract obligation. Missing household items on separate truck. I hired Two Men and Truck for my relocation from NC to CO. I paid for packing and moving. I chose to do the unpack. My agreement with [redacted] and [redacted] was $12,000 flat fee for total move. When the packers showed up Monday June 13th, we did a walk through and I showed them what needed to be packed. However, they spent time talking, and trying to move furniture downstairs. They wasted an hour trying to get a mattress down the stairs and damaged the newly painted walls and ceiling. They never got it down and nver finished packing. The next day when the other crew showed up to load, they ended spending the better part of the day packing instead of loading. The crew on Monday started loading furniture prematurely. Therefore the truck was packed inefficiently and filled up. On Tuesday at 4pm, I was told by the crew that no more items would fit on the truck and we would need another one. However, the catch was there was no guarantee when the second truck would arrive to Denver.I told [redacted] and [redacted] I would pay for the other truck, just get my stuff to me.In order to save on expenses, I was told I had to wait until there was another truck coming to Denver and there was nothing on the schedule any time soon.Additionally, I had a broken TV as well as many fragile items broken because they were carelessly thrown in boxes. The original bid given to me by [redacted], stated all my stuff would fit in one truck. Due to [redacted]'s oversight, I am forced to wait for the remainder of my household items. I have paid this company in full.Desired SettlementI would like the remainder of my things to be delivered ASAP and reimbursement for broken items.Business Response The customer was given an estimate based off of 2 trucks moving to Colorado. She stated she could not afford the 2 truck estimate and asked what could bring the price down. We then stated, and was agreed upon by the customer to 1 truck capacity at 9000 lbs for a flat fee. This was communicated and agreed upon multiple times with the customer. The day of the move, the customer called, stating that everything would not fit on the truck and that she would pay whatever to have another truck come out. Due to schedule capacity, we did not have another truck that could go to Colorado. The sales Manager spoke to the customer and stated that we could at least get the remaining items out of the house and put in our storage. The customer did not want to pay full price to send the remaining items to Colorado, so it was stated to her that we would see when the first available truck was going to or in the direction of her destination, so she could receive a discounted rate. That is where the last communication was made. The customer has been FULLY aware of the process of the move from the beginning, but keeps going back and forth on the agreed upon terms. Consumer Response There are two core issues that are not being addressed as to why a 2nd truck was even needed.1. I paid for packing and that was not properly completed. The packers were loading and the loaders were packing.2. Had the truck been properly loaded by the loaders, a second truck would not have been required. If the packers would have actually packed, everything would have been properly loaded. The loading crew said my stuff was thrown all over. The process should have been, pack Monday, load Tuesday, plain and simple. The proper process for efficient loading is, all boxes need to be loaded first then bulky larger items. This was not the case. As I mentioned, they never even finished packing so they should NOT have been loading.I hold Two Men and a Truck responsible for not training their employees and for refusing to deliver a service which was agreed upon. One truck, pack and load. I paid for a service that I did not receive.Final Business Response Once again this customer is stating false accusations. The agreed upon weight for 1 truck capacity was 9900 lbs and the actual weight of the truck came to 9900 lbs. Whether or not it was packed correctly is an opinion of the customer and would not effect the overall weight. Once again the customer knew not everything would fit and we have documentation stating that. We have gone above and beyond trying to help the customer out but she consistently goes back on her word.

Purchased full replacement value insurance for our move. Two pieces of furniture were damaged beyond repair yet Two Men refuses to pay 9 months laterOur move occurred June 2015. We were heavily marketed to purchase full value replacement insurance which we did. Several pieces of furniture were damaged and we filed claim on July 22, 2015. September 17, 2015 Two Men sent their furniture repair specialist. He was able to repair several pieces but he indicated that a desk and dresser were not repairable and that any attempt to repair would be substandard and not restore the furniture to it's pre move appearance or value. In October 2015 we provided Two Men with the closest replacement to our Bob Timberlake Dresser and Hooker Computer Credenza. Months passed [redacted] no response from the company. January 21,2016 we again sent photos of the two pieces and the claim forms. Now in March 2016, 9 months after our move, Two Men wants to send a different furniture repairman. Given the value of these two pieces of furniture we have repeatedly told Two Men that we will not accept another attempt to repair them since we were told by their first repairman that they were damaged beyond repair. We paid for full replacement insurance, the pieces can not be repaired and we want full payment to replace them with comparable pieces. The dresser that was damaged was a Bob Timberlake Cherry Genteel Plantation Chest which is no longer in production. The current replacement is Bob Timberlake Kay's Tall Chestprice $3,598.00. The Desk that was damaged was a Hooker Computer Credenza and also is not in production. The closest thing to our two piece desk in the Brookhaven Credenza$3,350.00. This information as well as web site links were provided multiple times to Two Men. After months of phone calls and e-mails we sent Two Men an e-mail on March 10, 2016 again asking for full payment within five business days or that we would be contacting our attorney and filing complaints. Yesterday and again today Two Men continues to want to send out another furniture repairman and refuses to make payment. Therefore, today March 18, 2016 we are filing this complaint.Desired SettlementWe paid for full replacement value insurance. Two pieces of furniture detailed above were damaged beyond repair according to Two Men's furniture repair specialist. We want payment as described above to be able to purchase replacement for the desk and dresser.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] Location Contact Phone: (XXX) XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@twomen.comPursuant with the valuation the customer selected the carrier has the right to repair, replace or compensate the consumer. The carrier will compensate the consumer in this case according to the estimated repair cost supplied by our qualified wood vendor. Consumer Response Completely unacceptable! Are you seriously suggesting that we accept as compensation for our desk and dresser the estimated repair cost from your "qualified wood vendor" who has only seen photos of the damaged items? You sent a furniture repair specialist (I assume he was also a "qualified wood vendor") to our home on September 17, 2015 and he said that the desk and dresser were damaged beyond repair. When your company came to our home to provide a quote for our move we discussed in detail the quality of our furniture and your representative aggressively pushed us to purchase full replacement value insurance. This insurance was marketed by your company to ensure customers that if their furniture is damaged beyond repair that you will compensate for the full amount to replace the damaged items with comparable pieces. So to directly respond, you had the right to repair and YOUR specialist said that both pieces were not repairable. We want full value compensation to replace the damaged furniture$6948.00! Our next complaint will be to the North Carolina Utilities Commission about your fraudulent insurance practices. Final Business Response The Carrier does not sell insurance, we do sell valuation which is entirely different. Please refer to the moving 101 brochure. The carrier is asking that our qualified vendor be allowed to make an in home visit to make a fair and accurate estimate for both parties.

refusal to pay for damages caused by their negligence. We engaged Two Men and a Truck to move our household goods. Our washing machine was broken because they failed to block the drum. Our dryer was broken because they dropped something so large and heavy on the dryer that it arrived at our new home with a three in gouge in the sheet metal. They bent the pendulum from our grandfather clock because all they did was wrap it in some paper. We had to purchase a new pendulum at a cost of $180.None of these damages were the result of incidental accidents. Rather they were the direct result of negilgence on thee part of the Two Men movers. As a result, I believe that this is part of an implied warranty that is part of the moving contract, i.e. that the movers will exercise reasonable care during the course of the move.Additionally, they have yet to compensate us for the other damages that they caused.Desired SettlementWe want to be comepnsated in full for the washer dryer, and pendulum, and we want them to finally issue our check for the other damages that they caused.Business Response We here at Two Men And A Truck absolutely do not do business this way. This customer did have some damage and was compensated for this. I personally explained to him that the compensation process could take up to thirty days from the time of submission, and we have since mailed out a check. We also had a vendor repair the damage to the customers floor, and were in constant contact with him throughout the process.Consumer Response This response does not address my complaint. The issue is that Two Men and a Truck's movers were negligent in the way that they handled our washing machine, dryer, and the pendulum from our grandfather clock. As such, they should be liable to compensate me in full for these three items. Is the company actually trying to claim that they handled these three items in a professional manner? I don't think they can. Hence my lack of understanding as to why they will not provide adequate compensation for these items. As far as the "thirty day" response is concerned, the move took place in June, it is now December, and as of today I still do not have a check from them. It's very easy to state that the check was mailed. What is the check number, and what is the date that it was issued?Final Consumer Response The business owner is incorrect. I am not satisfied with their response! They are completely avoiding the issue of their negligent and unprofessional handling of my washer, dryer, and grandfather clock pendulum which cost me approximately $1,700 to replace. These people are playing word games with you and with me by avoiding the the fundamental issue that their handling of these three pieces did not meet minimum standards for what would be considered a workmanlike effort in moving and protecting the pieces.Final Business Response This customer selected the basic valuation option, please refer to the Brochures you were given at the beginning of your move. They spell out in detail what the Basic Valuation option covers. Again, as mandated by the [redacted] the customer is entitled to .60 per pound of any damaged item. The customer has already been compensated for his damage and we have fulfilled our contractual obligation.

I hired this company to move my furniture to my new house. Their men were careless and damaged my desk. The company is now not answering my emails.I hired this company to move my furniture to my new house. I personally watched their crew tumble my custom built, carved Queen Anne style cherry wood desk down the hallway end over end rather than lift it. I herard the wood legs crack off as they tumbled it. I stopped them and one of them said "my bad. Some wood glue can fix that. I can run and get some." I said, no thank you I will file a claim with your company. Their boss then came over and said that the legs were broken before they moved the table. I said that was not true. He then had me fill out a claim form with the company and said someone would contact me to make it right. No one from the company contacted me. This happened on 25 August 2016 and I was charged $1025 for the move. I want $1,200 payment to replace the desk.Desired SettlementI would like the company to pay to replace the desk they broke with their reckless actions. I estimate the value to be $1,500.00. The furniture maker who crafted this article is now dead, so I cannot get an exact replacement. But I believe for 1,500 I can get a mass produced item that will suffice. Business Response I spoke with this customer after learning of this complaint. He has not submitted a damage claim form as of yet. I emailed him one and asked that he get it back to me as soon as possible, this will give us the chance to actually address his issue.

The company was hired to move our family to our new home on March 22-24, 2016. Many items were damaged and lost. The company was hired to move and store on the truck then deliver to our new home from March22-24, 2016. The movers used my dolly and my tools during the move, they were not returned. After the move I noticed a large scratch on the headboard of our bed, it was crudely painted over. I called and was put in touch with a man called [redacted]. He has been promising help but never does. A damage report was filed but [redacted] just promises resolutions but never does them.Desired SettlementReplacement of Sears socket set #SRS358310Replacement of Hand Truck (Dolly)Repair of headboardBusiness Response I have requested receipts from Mr. [redacted] for the items he is missing, to date he has been unable to produce any. We will be more than happy to compensate this customer if and when he produces these.Consumer Response This is just another one of his tactics to not fulfill his promises. [redacted] told me he was going to send his repairman to repair the headboard and would copy me with his email. That was over 2 weeks ago and when he stopped returning my phone calls. Who keeps receipts for over 10 years. I told him this. Final Business Response This customer selected basic valuation at the outset of his move, this entitles him to compensation at .60 per pound of the item. I was actually attempting to go beyond this, as we do with every customer. I will be closing this issue out with this customer and compensating at the required rate as soon as I am supplied the details and receipts requested.
