Simply Yours Bridal and Formal Wear Reviews (1)

I have found the customer service at Simply Yours to be non-existent and want to warn all brides (and bridesmaids) of my experience Simply Yours simply makes the problem yours and will do nothing in an attempt to help you I have read reviews online and some have stated how wonderful the staff is and how easy they are to work with – perhaps they did not live the nightmare I did! My story:
We ordered our bridesmaid dresses in March for an August weddingIn April, I found out I was pregnantAfter I told my husband, instead of just calling, I immediately drove minutes to the store, so I could explain the situation in person and perhaps get the issue resolved Silly me, I thought that since the wedding was four months away and the dresses had only recently been ordered, I could order a larger sizeI also thought that since I took the time to come in and explain the situation, the staff would work with me to assure that my dress would be large enough as I would be five months pregnant at the time of the wedding As I explained my situation, much to my surprise, the issue became my problem I was told, rather rudely, by Jennifer, the owner, that my only option was to order a brand-new dress, paying full price for both dressesI could not believe this! When I explained I didn’t have any problem with *** *** when a dress had to be replaced for my wedding because of a pregnancy She told me “So go to *** ***.” Her employee, in what I assume was meant to be a customer friendly solution, mentioned maybe additional fabric could be ordered and added to the dressI agreed to that solution and was told by Jennifer that she would have additional fabric for me upon picking up my dress which was scheduled to arrive at the beginning of JuneThe beginning of June came and went and neither the bride nor the bridesmaid’s received a call that the dresses were inThe bride finally called the store on June and Jennifer told her that “a message was left on June 20th”I’m not sure on which phone the message “was left” because no one had a voice mail stating the dresses had arrived - thankfully the bride had called to check! I went immediately on June 30th (along with the bride, my sister (who is also in the wedding) and my mom to pick up my dress which I knew wouldn’t fitI was expecting to pick up my dress and the additional fabric that I was promisedI was told that the additional fabric wasn’t in yet but “don’t worry, it will be.” I was also given a business card of a seamstress associated with Simply Yours who was currently on vacation, but would “definitely, 100%” be able to alter my dress since it would be complicated alterationSince she was on vacation I was a little nervous that she wouldn’t be able to have the dress done in time for the wedding on Aug Therefore, I called her and left a message asking her to call as soon as she returned from vacation, which I was told would be on July I eventually called the seamstress two times, left two voicemails and sent her an email as wellThe seamstress did call me, but told me that she was booked until September and that she wouldn’t be able to get me in – although I had been assured by Jennifer that she would “definitely, 100%” be able to alter my dressI called the week of July and the week of July to check on the additional fabricIronically, on one day I called four times within a couple of hours, and each time the call immediately went to voice mail I spoke with my mom and she offered to call Her call was answered immediately Now, perhaps, they were busy or out to lunch, but it made me wonder if they were screening my calls It certainly appears that way!
My mom received no satisfaction with her call and was told there did not appear to be any information in the record regarding extra fabric When Jennifer finally called me back – “I guess I’m supposed to call you” – she stated she never ordered the fabric in April because there was an additional cost! I would have been willing to pay the extra cost – although it was never mentioned! She then stated she ordered the extra material on July – the Monday after we were there on Saturday, June Interestingly enough, when asked on June about the extra fabric, she told us (and my mom and sister recall her words as well) “it hasn’t arrived yet.” During the phone call, she also stated she was worried that it wouldn’t be there in time! I’m sure it would have been had it been ordered in April!
By now I was in a state of panic I called every seamstress in the area and was finally able to find someone who would fix my dress – for a cost! This seamstress asked me to go to Jo Ann’s Fabric to find a matching (if possible) material and ribbon Basically, I’m paying for the material which should have been ordered in April AND a rush fee to finish the dress by August 5!
My dress will be finished in time for the wedding (barely), but the stress that I have endured and the stress the bride has had to deal with has made this whole experience a trial when a call could have simply been placed to the manufacturer asking to change the size of my dress I’m sure that another bridesmaid will purchase the same dress from the same manufacturer – in probably the same size ordered for me – but I certainly hope that it won’t be from Simply Yours because if I can save one person from the nightmare I went through, taking the time to write this will be worth it!
