Hello, we recently had Sims Awesome moving company move us from Staunton IL to Butler IL, an emergency move, as our old basement was covered in black mold. They quoted us for $650 which was fine because we did have a lot of furniture. Fast forward to Saturday (move day) they arrived as scheduled and began moving our stuff. Along with not having the proper tools (or any at that) we had trouble right away detaching our stove and have to drive to my grandparents to get parts to remove it so it could be moved. The leader of the group told us repeatedly we were going to have to do it our self because he couldn’t do it, eventually with our own tools we detached it and got it moved. They also clipped our neighbors cable line (elderly woman) and got out and began screaming at her that it was her fault it was too low and to take care of it herself. It was very embarrassing. Once they got to the house they quickly got everything inside (did not assemble the swingset my step dad later came over and did that, they left it in the back yard disassembled) and they handled me the bill of a whopping $786. Over $100 quoted but I figured they did ok so I signed the bill, tipped them each $20 (4 men) and they left. Sunday morning we woke up and began unpacking to realize our two flat screen TVS were missing (32inch and 43 inch) I thought no big deal they left them on the truck and left them a message. It was Sunday so they were not open. They called me Monday morning at work, very rude telling me they did not have the TVs. I explained that I didn’t remember them even delivering them and they insisted they did. They finally had two men come out to our home and search for the TVS as they didn’t believe us. One of the men began rummaging through boxes and closets and I let them so they could see they weren’t here. Upon leaving they promised to call me within an hour with a resolution and failed to do so. When I called the office they ignored me. I called again today and when they answered he said to stop calling
I am the manager and owner of Sims Awesome Moving Company Inc. You have assigned a claim to us #***, this is a response to a customer's complaint.
My company has operated about 15 years, in good standing with the State of Illinois. The customer and our company are presently in the process of handling a claim of unusual circumstances. Although we have documentation of the customer signing that she received all of her property, they claim they are missing two televisions. There were several people from the customer's family at this move and although the customer claims the tvs were not delivered, the two tvs are on the inventory list also signed by the customer that she received them. Although we questioned the experienced crew of 4 men, the crew all stated the same story that the tvs were delivered with the rest of the household goods.
We will go the extra mile to try our best to handle the customer's claim. We try to always go beyond what is expected to maintain a good relation with our customers.
