Review: I contracted with Mr. S[redacted]o rebuild a set of exterior wooden stairs.

I initially gave him a down payment with the signing of the contract which we signed in February 2015. about a month and a half after many phone calls he came and began the work. He was very sporadic as to when he would come to work on my project. In late April or early May he asked me for an additional payment and I complied even though the contract did not call for any additional payment until the job was complete. Once this payment was made he never returned to finish the project.

His workmanship was subpar. Most of the ends of the stringers that he installed were split as he chose to shoot nails rather then screw the wood. I noticed that he used uncoated nails and I pointed out to him that they needed to be coated as the chemicals in the treated lumber would cause the nails to disintegrate. His response was that he must of had a few uncoated nails left in his nail gun that he did not notice. I saw no coated nails on the project and he did nothing to correct the problem. I believe that a competent contractor would have used coated screws rather then uncoated nails as the nails would loosen over time where as the screws would hold everything tight.

Since Mr. S[redacted] would not return my phone calls I was forced to hire another contractor to repair what he had done and finish the stairs as he left them incomplete and in an unsafe condition. The stairway is a second exit for an apartment and the tenants could not use the stairs in the condition that mr. S[redacted] left them.

I had originally found Mr S[redacted] through an on line service. The service offers help when a problem arrises with one of thee contractors that they advertise for but they could not get any response from Mr. S[redacted]Desired Settlement: I wish to be reimbursed for the monies that I had to pay a contractor to come in and repair the work Mr S[redacted] did and to finish the work that Mr. S[redacted] refused to complete

Review: I contracted with Scot S[redacted] on May 9, 2015 to build a deck, and gave him $1400 as a deposit. Building was to begin on June 8, and be complete by June 31, 2015. On June 30, he had not even pulled the permit. He said he needed a drawing of the property. A week later, he still did not have the permit. I was then notified that I would be relocating for work, the first week of August. I called him and explained that I still wanted the deck, if he could complete it by the end of July. I have not heard from him since. I have called him and left messages almost every other day, and he never answers or responds. As of July 13, 2015, I asked my husband to call him, using a different number, he tried several times, and was finally able to get a hold of him on July 14, 2015. My husband said Scot told him he has no intention of returning my money, as the contract says I can cancel the contract up to the third business day. My husband said he told Scott that he breached the contract by not even starting on the project, as the contract has start and end dates. I have tried to work with Scott to resolve this, but have had no resolution.Desired Settlement: I want my $1400.00 back.

THIS MAN STOLE 18000 DOLLARS FROM ME AND MY PARENTS. HE LEFT THEIR ENTIRE HOUSE TORN UP AND RUINED A BRAND NEW HARD WOOD FLOOR. NEVER REPLACED IT. A 3 MONTH JOB STILL IS NOT COMPLETE 2 YEARS LATER. HE IS THE BIGGEST LIAR AND THEIF.
