1-: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint Mr [redacted] is being dishonest on several points When I asked him to come out for a quote, it was for popcorn ceiling to be restored on the half of the ceiling with the skylights that were removed I asked if they would be painting the other side so the color would match and he said "you don't want to paint popcorn ceiling because if you ever go to remove it, it's more expensive" He ensured me the color match would be close 1-A: To remove the popcorn ceiling texture, restore the finish, address all the existing damage, loose tape, water stains, etcand then re-texture the half of the ceiling this customer keeps referring to would have cost $to $without paintThis customer chose to only have specific sections of her ceiling repaired 2: My issue is not that the color doesn't match the other side as I was aware of that The issue is the side he was to repair was done in patches and even what he was to repair was not done correctly I have attached (first) the before picture of the ceiling and all pictures after show his completed work You can see where the ceiling texture is uneven and the skylight areas stand out He was to remove and re-finish the area to the left as he stated an ameteur did the ceiling repair previously You can see afterwards there is still some of the same streaking, bubbled and uneven effect still there 2-A: I believe that all the pictures submitted are of before the work was performedIf one looks at the tall picture it’s easy to see that the underlying trowel marks are the same as the other picturesThis work was done with a six or eight inch knife/trowelStandard practice is to use at minimum a twelve inch knife/trowelAs for the dates of the pictures? It’s an easy process to change the date by changing the properties-details information of the picture 3: They did not offer to restore the entire ceiling in popcorn texture on the first visit as the right side did not need to be sprayed The day they came to fix the ceiling we did discuss how completely removing the popcorn ceiling and making it a smooth surface would look better, but I didn't want to as I am not certain it would blend with the age of the house and did not want to spend so much as I have not decided whether to sell the home or stay 3-A: This discussion took place on our first visit in March of this year and was rejected because of cost 4: My friend did not claim to have years of experience or I would have asked him to do it My friend assured me the gray color would dry white, which it did Neither of us knew it would turn out so uneven an sloppy once it dried 4-A: My mistakeWhen someone says that they “know popcorn” I give them the benefit of the doubt 5: My phone records show I called Mr [redacted] him at 7:56am the day he was supposed to show up at 8am to fix his work If he was over miles away at that time as he says that proves he was not here at 8am as he said he would be I am a very light sleeper so if he was early I would have very likely heard him knock Regardless when you schedule an am appoinment for a customer you don't change the time and leave a note as if you were there at the scheduled time when that time has not even occured 5-A: We were there, plain and simpleI didn’t drive over miles, sneak up to the door, place a note then sneak offWe knocked, unloaded some tools, knocked again, waited some more, then choose to load back up and leave after receiving no answer 6: I can assure you without a doubt my floor was covered with one filthy drop cloth that did not cover the whole floor No consideration was taken in tracking thru my house to the restroom by Mr [redacted] , no consideration for what was tracked and stuck all over the uncovered areas of my hardwood floor 6-A: This was addressed previously when I stated; This is untrueWe used three 12Xfoot tarps to protect the floors and sheet plastic from the ceiling to the floor to protect the walls 7: Mr [redacted] s help which was one person "***" maybe was very nice, but again Mr [redacted] was rude once he realized I was unhappy 7-A: She didn’t appear unhappyBut if she was so unhappy, why did she pay usAs I stated in the previous letter; She was never pressured in any way to pay usShe even had someone she described as a close and trusted friend come out to inspect the workThis person claimed to know popcorn texture and described our work to her by telling her she wasn’t going to get anything better 8: If there was a misunderstanding on my part of what would be covered I can accept that; however, even the work he states he did you can see is poor His own webpage (attached printout) that can no longer be pulled up stated that "We don't just remove the popcorn, touch up a little bit and then call it done" Why say this if that's exactly what you do It is a misrepresentation of your work, not the customer "taking the quick and cheapest route" $for my ceiling to look like it does is not the cheapest route it is a waste of my hard earned money 8-A: The page she’s referring to deals with complete popcorn ceiling restorationsShe didn’t want to pay the $or so it would have cost to have her entire vaulted ceiling restored and paintedShe only wanted specific areas patchedSo yes, it is the cheapest route she chooseIt’s like getting the cheapest and fastest paint job you can find for a car then complaining that they didn’t fix every single dent and scratch on the car before painting even though the deal made was to only fix the dents on the back right fender 9: The problem I have with the license his, he obviously is not trained to do this work and I have yet to receive a response from Ms [redacted] If the license is in her name she is responsible for her employees poor workmanship 9-A: I’m not aware of any attempt at communication 10: I am so very dissappointed and in such disbelief of how someone can take your money and sleep at night knowing they did someone unfairly 10-A: She choose the cheapest route possible, had a trusted friend with experience inspect and approve the work, paid the contractor, made another appointment with the contractor, failed to show up for the appointment, decided she doesn’t trust, like or want the original contractor back in her house, etc In closing: In my opinion all this could have been easily avoided had she shown some patienceAfter several days with a at least or more phone calls per day from her plus a huge rise in appointments and next day appointment cancellations in the [redacted] area I sent her an email on 06-08-In the email I explained that due to my schedule I couldn’t come out to [redacted] until I had something else in the area which I did have but didn’t have a date locked in it takes time to schedule and many people seem to need at least a couple weeksIt took her over seven weeks from our first visit on 03-30-to schedule so she should have understood at least a little bitI also expressed my displeasure with her in the email for missing the follow up appointment and explained to her that if she missed the next appointment I would consider the matter closed By filing this complaint she never allowed me to make the next appointmentAmong the other insults and falsehoods she’s directed at me in the original complaint and this response she has stated that she doesn’t want me back in her homeSo unless I receive an appropriate apology from her via the Revdex.com website communication system I will continue to honor that request Thank you [redacted] 864- [redacted]

1: Complaint: On 5/30/*** *** came out to repair and refinish existing patchwork on 1/of a cathedral popcorn ceilingPer our agreement/discussion,the patchwork would be removed and the entire half of the ceiling re-sprayed1-A: This is untrueWe stated that we would repair, re-finish
and re-spray the patch work areas only as she didn’t have the funds to have the entire section of the ceiling restored 2: He did remove patched areas and spray but only in patchesSurfaces were not evened out creating and uneven sloppy appearanceHe ensured me that once it dried the areas would blend and that he had held his end of the bargain2-A: She was told several times that because of the age of the home a perfect color match was unlikelyThis was due to 25+ years of previous repairs, a wood burning fireplace, kitchen smoke, tobacco smoke and possible other environmental issues 3: I did not want to pay him until it dried but felt obligated and pushed to do so3-A: That may be correct but she was never pressured in any wayShe even had someone she described as a close and trusted friend come out to inspect the workThis person claimed to have many years experience working with popcorn texture and described our work to her by telling her she wasn’t going to get anything better 4:My floor was only partially covered with a cloth that needed to be cleaned and my walls were also not completely covered4_A: This is untrueWe used three 12Xfoot tarps to protect the floors and sheet plastic from the ceiling to the floor to protect the walls 5: I spent most of the day cleaning popcorn ceiling out of the cracks in my hardwood floor and cleaning in hopes that at least my ceiling would be repairedUnfortunately once dried, it did not blend as he had promised5-A: I don’t know if this is true or falseWhen we left it appeared clean 6: His paperwork stated the work was guaranteed for days, and he said if I was not happy to call, so I called to express my discontent with the finished productHe said next time he was out my way he would give me a callI asked that he come out as soon as possibleOn 6/1/he called at 6:08a.m to say he could come out that Thursday, he stated he may be late if it was raining, which it did6_A: If the time is correct this is 100% true 7: I opened my door around 7:55a.m that Thursday to find a note that read "8a.m No Answer"I called several times with no answerI left a msg stating I was home and it was not yet 8a.m and to please come back and correct the job7-A: We waited if front of the home for at least minutes after knocking several times and receiving no answerWhile I can’t give the exact time she did call I do know that we were over miles away in morning traffic heading back to Greenville when she did8: He did not rtn my phone calls but emailed on 6/8/stating "the simple fact was I did not answer the door and he would contact me again and if I did not answer he would consider the matter closed." He said he would continue to ignore my phone calls and that I had "signed off on the work" (which I did not) and he was paid8-A: This is paragraphs of an email turned into a couple sentencesShe also omitted that what I said was when we set up a time and if she failed to answer the door at that time then I would consider the matter closedI’m not the sort of person who would drive over miles round trip just to create a problem 9: I discovered after the job that he is operating under *** *** license (***), so I have tried to contact her by phone with no response and now her number has been changed9-A: What’s the problem? My wife has the license and bookkeeping while I have the insurance, people and tools 10: Desired Settlement: I would like for *** *** to contact me and come out to repair these issuesIt was not to my knowledge until after the job issues that it is her license number that is being used for this businessMr*** has been very rude and arrogant towards meI distrust him and his ability to do this jobIf she or another licensed employee of hers cannot correctly do this job I would like a refund.I have never been treated so rudely by a contractor and find this as discrimanatory & fraudulent10-A: From my conversations with her and her popcorn texture experienced friend the problem seemed to be the color matching of the new texture, the existing texture and several smaller areas she didn’t want restoredShe chose to go the quick and cheapest route to repair her ceilingOn the original visit we offered to restore her entire ceiling for her but the cost was too greatWe offered to restore the half in question for around 55% of the entire ceiling but that was too muchShe chose to only have specific areas repaired because that was all she could affordI can’t emphasize enough that she was told repeatedly that a good color match and pattern match to the old repaired areas was unlikely and that to get a color match her ceilings would need to be paintedShe asked but was told that we were not interested in painting the ceiling Also, neither myself or any member of my crew was in the least bit rude to herWe addressed her concerns honestly and openly Thank you *** *** 864-***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Mr*** is being dishonest on several points. When I asked him to come out for a quote, it was for popcorn ceiling to be restored on the half of the ceiling with the skylights that were removed. I asked if they would be painting the other side so the color would match and he said "you don't want to paint popcorn ceiling because if you ever go to remove it, it's more expensive". He ensured me the color match would be close. My issue is not that the color doesn't match the other side as I was aware of that. The issue is the side he was to repair was done in patches and even what he was to repair was not done correctly. I have attached (first) the before picture of the ceiling and all pictures after show his completed work. You can see where the ceiling texture is uneven and the skylight areas stand out. He was to remove and re-finish the area to the left as he stated an ameteur did the ceiling repair previously. You can see afterwards there is still some of the same streaking, bubbled and uneven effect still there. They did not offer to restore the entire ceiling in popcorn texture on the first visit as the right side did not need to be sprayed. The day they came to fix the ceiling we did discuss how completely removing the popcorn ceiling and making it a smooth surface would look better, but I didn't want to as I am not certain it would blend with the age of the house and did not want to spend so much as I have not decided whether to sell the home or stay. My friend did not claim to have years of experience or I would have asked him to do it. My friend assured me the gray color would dry white, which it did. Neither of us knew it would turn out so uneven an sloppy once it dried. My phone records show I called Mr*** him at 7:56am the day he was supposed to show up at 8am to fix his work. If he was over miles away at that time as he says that proves he was not here at 8am as he said he would be. I am a very light sleeper so if he was early I would have very likely heard him knock. Regardless when you schedule an am appoinment for a customer you don't change the time and leave a note as if you were there at the scheduled time when that time has not even occured. I can assure you without a doubt my floor was covered with one filthy drop cloth that did not cover the whole floor. No consideration was taken in tracking thru my house to the restroom by Mr***, no consideration for what was tracked and stuck all over the uncovered areas of my hardwood floor. Mr***s help which was one person "***" maybe was very nice, but again Mr*** was rude once he realized I was unhappy. If there was a misunderstanding on my part of what would be covered I can accept that; however, even the work he states he did you can see is poor. His own webpage (attached printout) that can no longer be pulled up stated that "We don't just remove the popcorn, touch up a little bit and then call it done" Why say this if that's exactly what you do. It is a misrepresentation of your work, not the customer "taking the quick and cheapest route". $for my ceiling to look like it does is not the cheapest route it is a waste of my hard earned money. The problem I have with the license his, he obviously is not trained to do this work and I have yet to receive a response from Ms***. If the license is in her name she is responsible for her employees poor workmanship. I am so very dissappointed and in such disbelief of how someone can take your money and sleep at night knowing they did someone unfairly.

1-: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  Mr. [redacted] is being dishonest on several points. 1-A: To remove the popcorn ceiling texture, restore the finish, address all the existing damage, loose tape, water stains, etc. and then re-texture the half of the ceiling this customer keeps referring to would have cost $1200 to $1400 without paint. This customer chose to only have specific sections of her ceiling repaired.     2: My issue is not that the color doesn't match the other side as I was aware of that. 2-A: I believe that all the pictures submitted are of before the work was performed. If one looks at the tall picture it’s easy to see that the underlying trowel marks are the same as the other pictures. This work was done with a six or eight inch knife/trowel. Standard practice is to use at minimum a twelve inch knife/trowel. As for the dates of the pictures? It’s an easy process to change the date by changing the properties-details information of the picture.     3: They did not offer to restore the entire ceiling in popcorn texture on the first visit as the right side did not need to be sprayed.  The day they came to fix the ceiling we did discuss how completely removing the popcorn ceiling and making it a smooth surface would look better, but I didn't want to as I am not certain it would blend with the age of the house and did not want to spend so much as I have not decided whether to sell the home or stay.  3-A: This discussion took place on our first visit in March of this year and was rejected because of cost.     4: My friend did not claim to have years of experience or I would have asked him to do it.  My friend assured me the gray color would dry white, which it did.  Neither of us knew it would turn out so uneven an sloppy once it dried.  4-A: My mistake. When someone says that they “know popcorn” I give them the benefit of the doubt.       5: My phone records show I called Mr. [redacted] him at 7:56am the day he was supposed to show up at 8am to fix his work.  If he was over 10 miles away at that time as he says that proves he was not here at 8am as he said he would be.  I am a very light sleeper so if he was early I would have very likely heard him knock.  Regardless when you schedule an 8 am appoinment for a customer you don't change the time and leave a note as if you were there at the scheduled time when that time has not even occured.   5-A: We were there, plain and simple. I didn’t drive over 70 miles, sneak up to the door,  place a note then sneak off. We knocked, unloaded some tools, knocked again, waited some more, then choose to load back up and leave after receiving no answer.   6: I can assure you without a doubt my floor was covered with one filthy drop cloth that did not cover the whole floor.  No consideration was taken in tracking thru my house to the restroom by Mr. [redacted], no consideration for what was tracked and stuck all over the uncovered areas of my hardwood floor.  6-A: This was addressed previously when I stated; This is untrue. We used three 12X14 foot tarps to protect the floors and sheet plastic from the ceiling to the floor to protect the walls.   7: Mr. [redacted]s help which was one person "[redacted]" maybe was very nice, but again Mr. [redacted] was rude once he realized I was unhappy.  7-A: She didn’t appear unhappy. But if she was so unhappy, why did she pay us. As I stated in the previous letter; She was never pressured in any way to pay us. She even had someone she described as a close and trusted friend come out to inspect the work. This person claimed to know popcorn texture and described our work to her by telling her she wasn’t going to get anything better.   8: If there was a misunderstanding on my part of what would be covered I can accept that; however, even the work he states he did you can see is poor.  His own webpage (attached printout) that can no longer be pulled up stated that "We don't just remove the popcorn, touch up a little bit and then call it done"  Why say this if that's exactly what you do.  It is a misrepresentation of your work, not the customer "taking the quick and cheapest route".  $550 for my ceiling to look like it does is not the cheapest route it is a waste of my hard earned money.  8-A: The page she’s referring to deals with complete popcorn ceiling restorations. She didn’t want to pay the $2500 or so it would have cost to have her entire vaulted ceiling restored and painted. She only wanted specific areas patched. So yes, it is the cheapest route she choose. It’s like getting the cheapest and fastest paint job you can find for a car then complaining that they didn’t fix every single dent and scratch on the car before painting even though the deal made was to only fix the dents on the back right fender.       9: The problem I have with the license his, he obviously is not trained to do this work and I have yet to receive a response from Ms. [redacted].  If the license is in her name she is responsible for her employees poor workmanship.  9-A: I’m not aware of any attempt at communication.   10: I am so very dissappointed and in such disbelief of how someone can take your money and sleep at night knowing they did someone unfairly.  10-A: She choose the cheapest route possible, had a trusted friend with experience inspect and approve the work, paid the contractor, made another appointment with the contractor, failed to show up for the appointment, decided she doesn’t trust, like or want the original  contractor back in her house, etc.   In closing: In my opinion all this could have been easily avoided had she shown some patience. After several days with a at least 3 or more phone calls per day from her plus a huge rise in appointments and next day appointment cancellations in the [redacted] area I sent her an email on 06-08-15. In the email I explained that due to my schedule I couldn’t come out to [redacted] until I had something else in the area which I did have but didn’t have a date locked in.   it takes time to schedule and many people seem to need at least a couple weeks. It took her over seven weeks from our first visit on 03-30-15 to schedule so she should have understood at least a little bit. I also expressed my displeasure with her in the email for missing the follow up appointment and explained to her that if she missed the next appointment I would consider the matter closed.   By filing this complaint she never allowed me to make the next appointment. Among the other insults and falsehoods she’s directed at me in the original complaint and this response she has stated that she doesn’t want me back in her home. So unless I receive an appropriate apology from her via the Revdex.com website communication system I will continue to honor that request.     Thank you.   [redacted] 864-[redacted]
