Singh's Oceania Supermarket

I am rejecting this response because:every thing on the message is a lie. You guys can go read all the reviews under Singh's Oceania on yelp and google website. All you will see is how rude there customer service is and they sell expired product to everyone. I'm not the only victim of there awful behavior. They have cameras in the store. The owner [redacted] was showing me and my family both his middle fingers. That's how good of customer service they have. They did ask me to go in for a refund when I went in they refunded and started yelling that I was lying. That's the only Indian store my family shops at. So I decided to check it out. My family never checked dates until I pointed it out to them.

Review: We (My mother and I) walked into the store, no one said anything, not even a hi! The two of us walk around the store looked at the items in the shop and picked up two canned goods. My mother asked the owner if the second line was open and he said no. There was two people in front of us, so we waited til it was our turn to pay. My mother puts the items on the counter and goes to get the money from her purse. At this point the owner says something to his wife, and moves the items to the other side of the counter and tells us to get out and that they won't serve us. They were very rude and the lady had a smirk on her face as she said this. At this point we were confused as we didn't do anything wrong.. at least we didn't think we did. So we go to the store next door. Thinking it was a bad joke or a misunderstanding we decided to go ask what the problem was. They started cussing at and threatened to call security. After a minute of cussing at us they finally said that we go to their store everyday walk around and don't buy anything! They had no right to humiliate and disgrace us the way they did. Especially since they are obviously mistaken. If they are chasing away customers by falsely accusing them how are they paying their rent? Really they should not be in business!Desired Settlement: I would like a public apology and a hand written apology signed by both owner and wife.

This is a response to complaint number [redacted]. As they have written in their complaint the mother and daughter have came to our store many times. Every time they came they roamed around and never bought anything. We don't have a big store like Walgreen's or Safeway and so it's not that hard to miss if someone comes around and walks around for a long time, doesn't buy anything and just leaves. Our store has only three long free standing aisles. As stated earlier both mother and daughter came many times to our store and left empty handed. WE went to the Police Department a few years back and asked them if someone comes repeatedly and doesn't buy anything what can we do. The officer there told us that if someone comes in like that and you feel that they seem suspicious for what ever reason you as a small business owner have the right to tell that individual to leave. If they don't leave or fight then you can tell them if they don't step out then I will call the police or security. That is exactly what we did. I don't know if you know but this is Mack Road a high crime area and there already have been shooting and other crimes in this area. If you go to the airport and if you see the news they always advise if you see something suspicious or someone suspicious always take notice and report. To us both the mother and daughter became suspicious as we noticed how they always came to roam around. We didn't know why they came since they never bought anything and we didn't know what was their motives. They could have came around to see how many people are in the store or were planning to do something else. We don't know but we feared for our safety and the safety of our customers and did what the police department advised. When the mother and daughter came that day. Once again they were roaming around for a while and finally picked up a can. When they came to the register they were not buying the product they were asking questions about the can. At that time we told both the mother and daughter that we will not serve you and if you can please leave our store. As they said they left and came back again. When they came back again we told them they need to leave or else we will call the security. We did not "cuss" at them as they stated. We had other customers in the store at that time. Then they finally left when we said we will call the security. If we were wrong in any way we would not tell them that we would call a third party, the security. One of the main reason a security is called is if the other party refused to leave or is being aggressive which they were doing. This is our supermarket and we have hundreds of loyal customers who come and shop. They wanted to know how we pay our rent. We pay our rent because we have hundreds of great customers and we are the number one or number two Fijian Indian store in California. We have customers who come and shop here from all over California and other states as well. We don't chase away customers, that is just ridiculous. You can call IRS, the City of Sacramento, Board of Equalization or anywhere they will tell you that we do a lot of sale. If the mother and daughter ever come to our store we will call the Police because we have to lookout for our and our customers safety.
