In response to this complaint:   I am an independent screenwriter that hired SIP Creatives to film a short film for me back in April 2016, which I was told would take eight days to film.    In our signed proposal agreement with Mr. [redacted] it is clearly laid out that our plan was to...

shoot all scenes over a course of 8 days but that it would not be consecutive. It is also clear in the agreement that Mr. [redacted] acknowledged that due to us giving him an incredible discount of 75% of our normal production costs that it would require flexibility with scheduling and other logistics. We understood that he is an independent screenwriter and that this was a passion project and more than anything we were bending-over-backwards to accommodate him.   As of November 2016, less than half of the project has been filmed with no editing, no timeline for future filming, and SIP Creatives refuses to create a filming schedule.    This is incorrect as we had already shot 6 days out of the 8 total and had already begun some minor editing.   To further expound on the situation a lead actor who was crucial to completing the production temporarily moved out to California in the middle of us shooting and gave us false expectations. Completing the production and project was directly due to having to be tied down to what the talent could offer us.     Since I have paid the deposit already (half of the total cost of the project), and the project is not even halfway complete 8 months later, I requested my footage so that I could go elsewhere to complete my project.    Again, this is incorrect as we had already shot 6 days out of 8 and had already begun some minor editing   SIP refuses to release footage, refuses to offer solutions,    This is incorrect also as we remained willing to work with Mr. [redacted] on completing the production. When he officially cancelled services with us we immediately communicated to Mr. [redacted] that we would work with him on an exit agreement/settlement according to the work completed at that point and to the terms of the contract.   and has even mass emailed actors and crew associated with my project that I am "uncooperative" and unreasonable," which is incredibly unprofessional.   We sent out an email to both cast & crew communicating that the production would no longer be handled by SIP CREATIVES, this is a standard practice of liability once a production changes hands. The email was very positive in nature and in wishing the production success as it moves forward.
