Sitters Etc Inc of the 5050 Poplar Ave Memphis, TN location did not provide the services described in contract. . .late and no shows.Sitters Etc Inc of the [redacted], TN location was hired to provide a personal care assistance (PCA) for my 16 yo son for transportation from school to physical therapy and/or home for 3-5 days/wk approximately 6 weeks. The first week the PCA was late. The second week PCA did not show. She did not show after the scheduling coordinator verified the schedules the week before. On Monday, Sept 8 my son called me around 3:40pm to inform me he was still at school. I called the scheduling coordinator's ([redacted])#, it rolled over to their [redacted] office. I informed the young lady the agreement was for my son to be picked up at 3:30pm and called the PCA. When this young lady ([redacted]) returned to the phone, she informs me the PCA would not be picking up my son because she was not aware of the schedule and now she does not have a car to use. I was an hour away and could not retrieve my son in time. He was able to get one of his teachers to take him to physical therapy. So I asked [redacted] if there is anyone available to pick him up from PT and take him home. She informs me that she could not answer that question, as she was in the [redacted] office and she had attempted to call, text and email the scheduling coordinator to retrieve this information. She said she has not been able to contact their "24-hour" line. So luckily I was able to find a friend to pick him up. Now 30 minutes later [redacted] the scheduling coordinator called me to inform me she had someone to pick my son up from PT. I told her their not dependable services were no longer needed.In between these calls, I also attempted to contact their marketer,[redacted]. and there was no answer via telephone nor text.Desired Settlement[redacted]. set this contract up, on Labor Day! She came to my house and stayed for 2 hours and we both discussed expectations of the services. She calculated I would pay (out-of-pocket bc not covered by insurance) at least $48 or more/wk for this service. I want others to be aware of the poor services of Sitters Etc Inc at 5050 Poplar Ave in Memphis, TN. I want others to know this business caused me more stress than I had during my son's surgery because of their not dependable service.This type of service is important when a family member is in need of personal care. It is a shame this company advertise ". . .perform their duties from the perspective of COMPASSION and MERCY." It is hard to provide compassionate care when your employees Do Not Show Up For Work.Also [redacted]. called to inform me the[redacted] was fired for her abandonment of my son. However, the firing of this[redacted] is not the issue. The issue is the proper personnel ([redacted] at the Memphis location) did not answer the phone in a timely manner to provide a timely resolution to the problem. She offered another[redacted] for replacement, I said no thanks. Staffing coordinator Ms. [redacted] contacted the client Ms. [redacted] on Friday 09/05/14 at 1:45pm to confirm if she needed our services for her son that afternoon at 4:00 pm. Ms. [redacted] informed her that her son [redacted] did not need to be picked up on 09/05/14 and proceeded to give his schedule to be picked up for next week. Ms. [redacted] contacted caregiver Ms.[redacted] at 1:55pm. She is the caregiver who has been providing transportation for the client. Ms. [redacted] informed her that [redacted] did not need to be picked up on Friday 09/05/14 and gave her the schedule for the next week. She accepted the schedule and gave no indication that she would not have transportation to provide the services next week. On Monday 09/08/14, at 3:45pm, Ms. [redacted] was informed by Ms.[redacted] from the Brentwood, TN office that Ms. [redacted] had called stating that the caregiver Ms.[redacted] had not arrived at the school to pick up [redacted]. After Ms.[redacted] spoke with the caregiver of her whereabouts and she was not aware of her schedule. Ms. [redacted] called another caregiver Ms. [redacted] who was available at 4:00pm to pick up [redacted] from physical therapy. Ms. [redacted] then called Ms. [redacted] to inform her that she had another caregiver available and she would be there at 4:00pm to pick up [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] did not answer the phone and this information was left on her voicemail. Ms. [redacted] returned the call ten minutes later and refused the alternative staff. Sitters Etc. strives to provide the best service possible to all its clients. If there is ever an inaccuracy or miscommunication on our part, we aspire to resolve the problem and “make it right” in a timely manner. We desire to learn from any negative situation so that it will not be repeated in the future. Our goal is to have the highest quality caregivers and office staff available in the industry.
