Good Morning, Again, I deny all these claimsThe tank was not full of rust when we replaced the pumpAs per standard practices, and requirements of the pump supplier, we replaced the fuel strainer when we replaced the pumpWe removed as much of the old fuel as possibleIt was old and yellow, it stunkThis is indicative of fuel that has been in the tank for yearsThe pump manufacturer does not require the replacement of the fuel filter because it doesn't affect what comes into and goes through the pumpThe screen doesThe fact that the vehicle ran after we did the job proves we did what we were contracted to doThere was no discussion of replacing the filter, and since it ran, it proves that it wasn't essential to the original job of making a dead vehicle runThere was no further discussion of needed repairs because the customer was adamant that even what she spent was more than the vehicle was worth Any rust found in the tank after this repair would be rust that was languishing in the fuel system, out of sightIt would be after this filter, in the lines and in the injectorsWe are not responsible for the condition of her vehicleFurther, she fraudulently claims that the fuel pump failed because of the rustThis is completely falseThe manufacturer says the screen we replaced stops damage from rust to the pumpIt is nothing less than an attempt at theft by deceptionWe are in no way responsible for the condition of her vehicleTo further prove our claim of fraud and deception, if said pump had failed, it should have been returned for replacement under ours and the manufacturer's warrantyThere was no attempt at any time to do thatThe reason is, that the pump has not failed and this entire claim and the cancellation of our charges is fraudulent and theft She continually sticks to the narrative about the airflow sensorAgain, if you restrict airflow through an airflow sensor, you get less air, and less fuelThis is so ridiculous, it's laughableNo engineer would agree with this statement We are in the process of having this customer investigated and are contemplating legal action for her theft of services, as well as libel for her complaintsAt any rate, I'm going to be taking legal action against her in the near future This constitutes my response Jacob H***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The mission of the Revdex.com is to advance marketplace trust, to establish a trustworthy business community, and to call out and address substandard marketplace behavior.  They encourage and support best practices by engaging with and educating consumers and businesses.  As a consumer I have the right, if not obligation, to educate other consumers about a business that misdiagnosed and performed substandard repairs on my vehicle. I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com so that others would know about my experience and would be better informed about this business. I provide pictures, documentation, emails, texts, and invoices to support my claims.  I have the actual damaged parts boxed and shelved.  The 2nd mechanic that I hired also recorded video of the work performed by the business as he inspected the vehicle.  This evidence doesn’t lie, cheat, deceive or defame.  The business has provided no evidence, no documentation, no pictures, and no defective parts to support their position.   When I hired this business, I thought I was paying for their word, their expertise, their experience, their professionalism and warranty.  I got none of this.  I had my vehicle towed to the business for repairs to make it road-worthy again. The business replaced the fuel pump and strainer, and claimed that the vehicle ran smoothly.  That’s what I was hoping for.  But when I took possession of the vehicle after their repairs, (November 27, 2017), the vehicle barely started and misfired and stalled continuously on the road.  After communicating with the business immediately upon my return home, I waited for days (November 27-December 1, 2017) for an offer of warranty repair by the business via email or text.  It never came.  Their invoice shows no offer of a guarantee or warranty on their work.  They lost my trust and I hired the 2nd mechanic to do the work.  Not only did I end up paying twice for the same repair work, I also paid the 2nd repairman to uninstall what the original business said they had installed. The business misrepresented their repair as complete, when in fact, their repair accomplished nothing. This is poor business practice to me. I want others to know how this business treats customers who are not satisfied with the work they have done.  Rather than working with me to effect the necessary repairs, they have, instead, taken the low road.  Their customer service seems to consist of threats, intimidation, name calling, accusation and innuendo.  My first inclination was to distance myself from all this negativity.  But I will take the high road and remain positive.  My response to the business’ statement to the Revdex.com and supporting documentation is attached. I include a timeline of events, and copies of the texts and emails that we exchanged.  Also included are references, copies of pictures of damaged parts and on a separate attachment, a statement about the business’ work standards from the 2nd mechanic I ultimately hired to do the repair.
Sincerely,

This customer's complaints are completely false and she is being mislead by this second mechanic.  The vehicle was towed to our location. It would not start. With her permission, we diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel pump. She authorized the replacement of the fuel pump and the cost quoted....

This was done in writing. She claims that the pump was not done following standard practices. This is a false statement, as I would like to see what she is calling standard practices". The pump is replaced. The vehicle ran when it left our shop. She fails to tell you that the vehicle has been unlicensed since 2006. We would not test drive the vehicle as it was not legal to operate on the roads. We are 2 blocks from the [redacted] Police Station, and we have a large amount of police traffic in the area. A traffic stop would no doubt bring a misdemeanor citation and the vehicle would be impounded. We did drive it around the shop parking area. This customer was adamant when we quoted the repair that she was not going to spend any more money on the vehicle. She acts as if something was special in paying before she picked up the vehicle. We had her pay for the fuel pump before we commenced work. This is a normal request when you work on a vehicle that is this old. If the customer decided not to pay and abandon the vehicle, we would never get our money out of it. I just wanted her to drive the vehicle and return it. That was the initial discussion. She never advised that she couldn't drive it back and it was dangerous (her opinion). She dodged us and took it to another mechanic. This 2nd mechanic has told her many misleading and fraudulent stories. She claims our work broke other parts. There has never been an airflow sensor that has failed due to a hot engine. We wouldn't wash out the tank to get rid of the rust because she wasn't paying any additional money. To do that properly, we would take the tank to the radiator shop for a boil out. The fuel pump has a new strainer which takes care of particles that will hurt the pump. The rust in the tank would either be caught by the strainer or pass harmlessly through the pump. It is possible that the fuel system was loaded with rust. We weren't paid or authorize to clean the fuel system. However, the fuel pump has a one year warranty, which she voided by taking it somewhere else and having them tamper with it. I highly doubt the fuel pump failed, as this is another false statement by the 2nd mechanic. If she had returned the vehicle as was her agreement with me, we could have discovered other issues. She claims there was a rodent's nest in the air cleaner,  and yet, when we diagnosed the no run situation, this was not apparent. It might have been in the cold air duct to the air cleaner, and when the vehicle was run, it was sucked into the filter itself. If indeed there were rodents in the vehicle, then it's likely that the plug wire she mentions was damaged by rodents. I don't see how our work could have damaged a wire, yet the replacement of the wire would have been a very inexpensive fix. This customer has canceled her credit card payments. I am fighting this with the processor. We did the work contracted for, it made the vehicle run, which it didn't when towed in. The work was under a guarantee which has been voided due to tampering. At any rate, we are considering legal action against this customer.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
