Christian contacted us wanting to buy a set of AERA trucks, which are individually machined from 7075-TAluminum alloy billet, and are downhill racing trucks ridden by the world’s fastest downhill racers We sell these direct to racers to make sure they get exactly what they want and
understand the options There are choices of axle and kingpin, alloys, (Titanium, hardened chrome steel, or a special stainless steel), choice of truck pivot axis angle (controls turning rate), choice of axle length (controls truck width), and color/type of color/finish on the parts These are hand made racing trucks that cost a ridiculous amount of money, but that is what we have to charge, even selling them directly to our customers, because of the materials, and individual labor in each truck This AERA product line is the skating equivalent of purchasing a custom made Indy car.Christian initiated an order with Kam, our regular web site customer service rep, but when he needed more information, he was transferred to K*** ***, a recent downhill racing world champion to educate him in which truck options would best serve his needs, and set up an optimized order Kevin spoke with him at length, and trucks were assembled for Christian, then shipped the next day.Soon after receiving the trucks, which were paid for with Christian’s mother’s credit card, Christian contacted us with a complaint about the axle nut not being correctly made K*** ***, walked him through the issue, offered to send new nuts, but Christian insisted on a full refund on the trucks He demanded we pay for the return shipping, which we at first balked at, but to soothe a very emotional and paranoid customer, we issued a Return Authorization and shipping label so Christian could send the trucks back to us at no charge The trucks were returned, the full credit was issued, and we inspected the trucks when returned and then sent them to one of our racing team for his use, as they were fine.Date of order Nov.24th (Thanksgiving break)Date packed Nov28thDate shipped Nov29thDate Delivered Dec2ndDate of complaint to pay pal Dec4thDate of RS label issued for return Dec5thDate of return was Dec 6thDate pay Pal refunded his payment was Dec 11th
