In response to complaint #[redacted] filed by [redacted] against Skillings Auto Sales Inc, the company desires to make the following statement: Two customers purchased a 2007 [redacted] on September 16, 2015 and at that time the vehicle passed inspection as was required under Mass used...

Vehicle Warranty Law. When one of the new owners brought the car back in for service on October 19, 2015, she complained of a rattle in the car. Upon inspection of the car, it was determined that the right front struct was bad. She was told that both struts should be repaired for the best performance of the vehicle. The right front strut under the warranty and the other strut was repaired for an agreed upon amount of the 100.00. the customer also consulted her own mechanic who advised her to also repair her rear shocks. At the time of the repair, she also agreed to repair these shocks for an additional 100.00. despite agreeing to pay a total of 200.00 for this additional work which she requested, she has refused to pay the outstanding amount. Now, upon filling this complaint, the customer would like our company to reimburse her for work done elsewhere and work which would have not been covered under her warranty. Skillings Auto Sales Inc has not been presented with any invoice from any other mechanic, nor has the customer ever tried to reach me as owner. Furthermore, the customer has listed a tune up as part of her damages. Not only did she not request a tune up from our company, but also had the car required such a service at the time of sale, it would not have passed the mandatory inspection by the commonwealth. The confrontation which the customer describes is also inaccurate as she requested additional work which was not covered by warranty. The salesman stated that she was not a woman of her word in refusing to honor the agreed upon price for additional work. The company has never had any kind of complaint from any customer for that salesman and we stand behind his work. The customer should pay the outstanding 200.00 which had been agreed to upon at the outset and if she had any work done which would have been covered by the warranty, she should have presented the invoices to the company, specifically to me, as owner of the company.
