Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because first of all, due to Chelsea's negligence by glueing multiple lashes to my inner eyelid caused it to be completely red and swollen. And it was not lash, but half of my eye and that's the reason she removed more than half of it when I went in the following day. And I didn't realize she's a medical provider so she knows the length of time when someon will have an allergic reaction. Secondly, when she removed more than half of my eye lashes, she repeatedly apologized for her error. in addition to the previous salon, the salon offered to use a different type for sensitive eyes but a complete lie when Chelsea said that I had microblading done instead. The salon refunded me the money because as the owner stated they stand behind their products and service. And in regards to the back of the form I signed, the facility literally gave me a minute to complete the form and never mind reading the entire form because as she stated, this is your scheduled appt time now. And the facility should guarantee their products and service to customers if they are professionals. And to offer a facial instead of refunding me the money, is admitting their mistake. And Chelsea never once mentioned anything about a no refund policy. And in regard to suggesting I may take her to small claims court is true. I paid over $160.00 and that's a considerable amount for products/service not being satisfied. And yes, I stated I will not recommend her facility to my neighbors and staff members because they were interested in getting the eyelash extensions but after my experience, I warned them about this facility. As a consumer, we should have some rule to protect us if it was under 48 hours of product being unsatisfied so facilities don't rip off the consumer. And I even offered Chelsea to keep her $30.00 for her time but she flat out refused. And to better warn customers, they should have a visible sign stating, no refunds because like I had mentioned before, I would've never had it done. And for Chelsea to reassure me that it'll be fine was all false.
Sincerely
[redacted]

We at Skin Essentials are still standing by our original response.  [redacted] signed a consent form when she came in and I also attached a picture of our policies that we have right at our front desk.

This client, [redacted], came in on 1/18/17 for a full-set of eyelash extensions.  She informed me prior to the visit that she was allergic to mink lashes and asked if I used them.  I let her know that we didn’t and have never used them.  When [redacted] came in for her...

appointment,  she told me about the last time she had her lashes done at different salon, and the allergic reaction that she experienced.  [redacted] told me that her allergic reaction was so severe with facial and throat swelling that she had to go to the emergency room and the doctor had to pluck off all of her lashes.  [redacted] said she felt that she was going to have a reaction with in the first 5 minutes of the girl doing her lashes.  I constantly checked in with [redacted] to make sure that she wasn’t feeling that same sensation. She said it felt fine.  That night, [redacted] sent me a text message saying that a lash was bothering her in her inner corner.  I fit her in the next day to adjust it.  She came in on 1/18/17 and I fixed the lash for her.  In [redacted]’s complaint, she said her eyes were “red and swollen” when she came in.  I did not see any redness or swelling at the time of her visit.  I woke up the next morning on 1/20/17 to a text from [redacted] saying “I had a severe allergic reaction my eyes my face everything swollen I spent all night in the ER.” I have been doing lashes a very long time and usually when people have an allergic reaction, it’s that day or the next day, not 2 days later.  I’m not saying, it can’t happen, I’ve just never seen that in the 5 years that I’ve been doing lashes.  [redacted] said that the doctor took all of her lashes off and then asked me for a refund.  We have a no refund policy on services. [redacted] was at the salon for 2 hours having lashes put on, and a lot of product was used being that it was a full-set.  [redacted] came into this knowing there was a chance of her having a reaction again.  I felt bad for [redacted] and offered her a relaxing, one hour facial. [redacted] responded that she can’t get facials because she has such sensitive skin.  [redacted] then asked for a much more invasive treatment called microblading on one eyebrow, which is pretty much an eyebrow tattoo.  I asked the owner of the spa, Dory, who I rent from if this could be done and Dory said I could only offer the facial because there was a large price difference in the microblading and eyelash extensions.  I replied saying, “We have calming facials customized to extremely sensitive skin and have never had an issue with skin sensitivity.”   I never said “No one is sensitive to a facial,” as [redacted] claimed in her complaint.  I have all the texts saved and they can be sent in if necessary.  [redacted] then became irate through text messages.  [redacted] threatened me by telling me she was going to take me to small claims court and was going to tell all of her staff and neighbors not to come to our salon.  I decided to contact the previous salon that [redacted] went to so I can see how they handled this.  In the last 5 years, I’ve never experienced a client like this so I wasn’t quite sure what to do.  The other salon told me that they had gone through the same problem with [redacted] and she responded asking for microblading as well.  This client came in and filled out an information sheet and signed a very detailed consent form which I will include along with my response.  The consent form clearly states that there is a chance that a reaction may occur and that we are not liable for such reaction.  Please let me know if I can provide any other information.
