Skip 'n' Flip Gymnastics Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
The uniform I canceled was $270.  If the August tuition ($210) and late fee ($20) were deducted the left over amount would be $40.  I would greatly appreciate if the check could be mailed to me.  They could even deduct the stamp, but this would make it more convenient for my family at this time.
Also, I wanted to say we really enjoyed skip n flip gymnastics.  And have had great experiences up until this point.  I am hopeful that at some point they could consider allowing [redacted] to participate in further gymnastics events such as birthday parties etc.

Concerning the status of [redacted] daughter.

[redacted] is not due a $270.00 refund for her daughter withdrawing
from our program for the following reasons:
We make our prices and policies
very clear at the beginning of...

the season. The competition fees
alone per athlete are $450. This covers the cost for them to compete
in their competitions. Along with the competition fee is a monthly
fee that covers the cost of class instruction. These fees are broken
up into monthly payments to help our families budget the cost of
competitive cheerleading. Our monthly payments are due the first
week of each month. After the 5th of the month a late fee
of $10 is charged, and after the 15th of the month that
late fee becomes $20. This is clearly stated in our handbook. On
the 14th of August we had to email the [redacted] family
reminding them that their payment was due and it was late. On the
21st of August she wrote a check to cover the August
payment, but wrote the check to “[redacted]” our boosters
organization, not “Skip ‘n’ Flip” as it should have been
written. At this time her daughter was still in our program, she did
not quit the first of August, [redacted] is mistaken. We asked that
the check be re-written to the gym, but she never replaced this
check, therefore no payment for the month of August had been made to
us. We had already made competition payments and choreography
expenses assuming the fact that we would get that monthly payment
from her, however she did not make any further payment.
On August 25th her daughter officially withdrew from
our program. She attended ALL but 2 classes in August, yet still had
not paid any of her fees. We were able to cancel the uniform order
and at that time explained to [redacted] since she had not paid her
August fee that the uniform money would be applied to cover that fee.
What she fails to understand is that we paid competition fees for
her daughter and we cannot get that back, competition payments are
not refundable, therefore we do not give refunds for payment parents
make. As they pay their competition fees to us, we pay them to the
cheerleading companies. So the end result is that the [redacted] family is
due a refund in the amount of $25 that they are free to come and
pick that up at their convenience. We don’t give refunds to
athletes that have been in our program for two months and then decide
they don’t want to continue. We do still have the emails to prove
these statements if you require them.
We were never made aware of any bulling
issues from her daughter or from our family. We take bullying very
seriously and we have policies and procedure in place to prevent and
address any behavior that is considered to be bullying. We have
multiple coaches and instructors with our students at all times and
we take this matter very seriously. The fact the [redacted] family says
that this is the reason for their departure is unfounded, furthermore
if there was a problem we should have been made aware of it. I can
attest that the only complaint from the family was about one of our
coaches correcting their daughter during practice. Cheerleading is a
serious sport and can be very dangerous if not coached correctly. It
is not uncommon for any of our athletes to be “corrected” for
not paying attention, or for behaving in a manner that is not safe
for them or others around them. We had been very pleased with [redacted]
success in our program and were surprised when she was withdrawn. We
wish her and her family the best.
Cheers,

Review: My daughter was cheering for [redacted] cheer. There was a couple instances where another child and my daughter told me she was being bullied. I called in July and spoke to [redacted] and told her [redacted] was no longer going to be cheering there. I wrote the check for August for $210 (fees + bow + competition) but promptly canceled it. I called a couple weeks later and asked them to cancel [redacted] $270 uniform. No one returned my call. I then emailed and asked if the uniform was not canceled, can I can pick it up. Someone emailed me back and stated the uniform was canceled and the money was applied toward her August tuition (even though she did not attend in August). The email stated if had any further question I could call [redacted]. I have called [redacted] twice, emailed once, and I have not had a response regarding a refund. If I am not going to be refunded for the month of August (even though she did not attend), could I at least have the difference $270 (uniform) minus $185 (August tuition) = $85 refund. Also, when I initially registered [redacted] she was supposed to receive a shirt and a bow. She has not received either.Desired Settlement: $270
