RE: Case # *** *** ***
Mr*** bought our Camaro in July, We were asked by Mr*** to swap his rims from his trade onto his new Camaro, which we did at no costOur certified technican swapped rims and would not
have put bad tires onto his new Camaro
When Mr*** contacted our salesperson about this claim, our Service Mgrcalled down to his Chevrolet Service Center to talk to their service writerTheir service writer said there was no claim of dry rotted tires on there repair ticket, furthermore handed the phone to their Service Mgr., who confirmed also that there was no claim of dry rotted tires on service ticket
Furthermore, we sold Mr*** a great low mileage Camaro that he drove all the way back to the StLouis
area, and has been driving ever since, unlike his claim
Sincerely,

First off, I have not been driving it because of the dry rotted tiresWhen I drove it off the lot, it had 90% oil leftAs of 11/10, it is now at 85%Furthermore, you calling down to my Chevrolet Service Center did not happenThat is a complete lieIf you did, please enlighten me who you spoke with including the date and time of the callAlso what is the dealerships name? If this actually did happen, the car was not in their service department for repairs on the tiresIt was in their service department due to front bumper repairs and paint work.that's when they saw that the tires were dry rotted and brought it to my attentionSo the tires would not show up on the service request because that was not what was being servicedService statements will only show the service done to the car including how much each particular item costsAt that time I sent the salesmen my claim about what I was toldHe stated there was no way the tires were dry rottedI proceeded to send pictures back to him clearly showing the dry rot on each of the tiresBut I never heard back from him regarding my issueThe title of the car even shows the period of time where the dry rot would of taken placeOn another note, General Motors has been trying to work with you (the dealership) on this case and from what they are telling me, the dealership is not cooperating with them on this issueNumber two, this was a GM certified pre-owned carThese tires are the original tires that were on the car when it came to your dealershipSwapping the rims themselves makes no difference on this caseIt actually shows that your service manager has no idea what he is looking atHow it passed inspection with having dry rotted tires is beyond meSo are you saying that a car being GM Certified Pre-owned has no meaning what so ever or are you and your "service manager" as blind as a bat because you couldn't see the dry rot on the tires even after I sent you crystal clear pictures of each tire on the car
One last note, I can give you the Body Shop Managers name and phone number if you would like to speak with him about thisHe has been working with my camaro the whole time and tell you the tires are dry rotted and that he was the one who first saw it and took the pictures since I just purchased the car weeks before
It's pretty sad when their Used Car manager and appraiser comes up to me and says that if this car showed up on their lot with those tires, they would of been replaced before it was even offered for saleThat's great customerRon not knowing anything about this case and just keeping the tires on the car and placing the GM Certified Pre-owned warranty on the car speaks highly on how this dealership operatesI just wish I would of checked all the bad reviews online before I went to their Chevrolet Dealership

To Whom It May Concern,
First, I apologize again for the delay from the email mix up and thank you for your patience in waiting for *** to come back from vacation
Mr*** took an extensive look at this vehicle on two separate
occasions
The first time was in July On that visit, he performed an extensive inspection that included putting his nose into the floor carpeting at which time he stated he could not take the car because it had been smoked inHe never mentioned anything about the surface rust which was present at that time
A couple months later, Mr*** came back to inspect the car againWe had it professionally cleaned and deodorized to help get rid of any smoke smellMr*** again went over the car and even got down on his hands and knees to check the car before taking deliveryBy the way, he did state this fact to our managers as well
We feel bad that Mr*** feels wronged in some wayHowever, we did not try to hide the rust on the carIt was his choice to take the car after he inspected it on two separate occasions
Thank you

Although the response from the dealer is accurate it does not tell the entire storyThe used car manager, *** called me the evening the Revdex.com case was openedPrior to receiving his callback, I had called him twice with no responseAt that time, we discussed possible solutions, one of which would be a very low cost option - repair the affected areas by their on premise body shopI sent him photos of the bubbling paint/rustSince they have a body shop on the premises, I asked him why they simply couldn't sand and fix the small areas of rustSince they own the shop, it would simply be a matter of primer/paint and a small amount of laborHe was supposed to call me back after reviewing the photos, but never responded after our initial conversation and receipt of the photosIn fact, he never even acknowledged receipt of the e-mail and photo attachmentsThe other option would be for the dealer to pay for supplies to fix the rust myself with materials from KB Coatings in IndianaThe total cost would be about $Since the amount of time it has taken for the dealer to respond in unacceptable, the least they could offer me is $in supplies to cover the cost of this home based solution

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/11/14) */
Let me just start by saying that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] are very nice people and customers. It is frustrating to have a mistake happen at our dealership, anytime. We have fixed their truck the right way. The [redacted]'s then took their truck to their...

friend's body shop. Their friends
's bodyshop has stated that there is frame damage. We have offered to tow their truck to an independent facility, but they do not want that.We just want to verify that there is something else wrong with the truck. Thank you
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/11/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
First of all they collision center we took it to is NOT a friend. It is a highly recommended collision center. Second of all I told [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] the owner about the concern with the frame, and how hard the truck hit the ground when the wheel came off. They have time to look over the truck with proper equipment, and to make sure they were fixing the vehicle safely and correctly. Christensons did NOT have my father come down to the dealership to go over what they found was damaged, and what they were going to replace to make the vehicle safe, and back to where it needed to be before they neglected to tighten the lug nuts and damaged the vehicle. I asked [redacted] collision managed numerous times for frame measurements and he kept saying we do not do that, we use a tram gauge. The independent car center Christensons wants to tow it to only does measurements and four wheel alignments. But so does Christensons and they NEVER gave the four wheel alignment paperwork like [redacted] and [redacted] the owner said they would, and could have done the measurements at the dealership, but failed to do so during the time they had the vehicle. The took the truck apart without going over what was going to be replaced, and without authorization. Being secretive and be unsafe, unprofessional about communicating and repairing the truck properly. Neglected to put the lugs nuts on properly placed my father, and other people on the road in harms way. So when Christensons improperly fixed and tampered with the frame failing to report welding, and pulling on the frame once again placed my father, and other people on the road in harms way. In front of my father, Jose, and Mike I pointed out the gaps in the tailgate, the differences in the rear bumper, and when a flat bed came to pick up the truck at Christensons those gaps in the tailgate were gone, and the rear bumper was different. We asked Christensons numerous times for an estimate so we can get a second opinion so it's not a conflict of interest. We never got that chance, because every time we would show up at the dealership the kept taking the truck apart which I have pictures with the dates on them. Once again if Christensons was capable of measuring the frame, and doing the four wheel alignment why didn't they, where's the paperwork that you promised, and why would you tow it to an independent car center to do the same thing you promised you would do, but never did?! How did [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] allow the vehicle to leave unsafely, and not all be involved in something so important and not communicate to do the job safely and correctly. When Christensons had the truck and kept taking it apart, my parents insurance adjuster couldn't do his report, because the the truck was to tampered with at the time. We had my parents insurance adjuster go to the other collision center, and don't understand why Christensons insurance adjuster can't go to the collision center my parents picking to go over the vehicle? Christensons had ample amount of time to do things properly, and dis not fix the truck correctly. Only changing the fender, blending the paint with the door, control arm(because it dug into the asphalt), wheel due to scratches, and hiding that they pulled on the frame. When a truck is in motion loses a tire and the frame hits the ground how do you only change the fender, wheel, control arm, and blend paint into the door? Once again my parents had to ask them to change the rotor where the driver side ball joint/control arm dug into the asphalt. If you fixed the vehicle "correctly" why didn't you change both rotors, show four-wheel alignment paperwork, and show measurements? If Christensons say they "fixed" the truck correctly they shouldn't have any issues with allowing their insurance adjuster go over the vehicle at the other collision center. I have pictures with the dates on them, and the parts that were damaged from the truck.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2016/11/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It's going on almost 4 weeks since my mother handed [redacted] the new car manager, and [redacted] the used car manager her insurance adjusters paperwork. Christensons still has not contacted my parents insurance adjuster, and still has not contacted the other collision center. My mother asked [redacted] what insurance carrier they have, and I called what was supposedly Christensons insurance company the woman told me they do not work with Christensons. So once again a lie. Christensons damaged the truck and improperly fixed the vehicle. So how do they once again try and pick where the vehicle goes for inspection or gets fixed?! My parents had a flatbed pick up the truck and tow it to a collision center they wanted the vehicle looked over. So why is it so difficult for Christensons to actually call their insurance company, and have them go to the collision center my parents picked?! Christensons is trying to hide from their mistakes of neglecting to tighten the lugs nuts, and improperly fixing the vehicle. If they didn't have anything to hide in the first place [redacted] (owner), [redacted] (used car manager), and [redacted] (collision manager) would have given proper paperwork, measurements, kept my father informed. Instead they wanted to do things off the books, and kept tampering with the truck hurrying trying to cover up their wrong doings. Only to make the vehicle unsafe to drive by not replacing damaged parts, and pulling/welding on the frame.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/11/17) */
Like we have stated, an independent store that has experience with frame work would make a unbiased report to all parties.

This response is not true and not acceptable. I was not reimbursed for gas and my memory is just fine. I find it extremely odd that the company said nothing about reimbursing me during 4 previous notes/inquiries...I was simply ignored until I filed this complaint with the Revdex.com. If anyone in this case has a "memory problem," it is the salesperson.

The customer came in on 02/03/2017 with a 2007 Chevrolet Impala mileage [redacted] The customer stated that they had the vehicle worked on for a no heat and the heater core replaced and several flushes at an independent repair facility and wanted...

us to take a look at it. We inspected it and found that the cooling system was getting clogged because of sediment that has built up over the life of the vehicle. We told the customer although the cooling system had been flushed and the heater core changed we needed to start with a flush and the customer agreed and we performed the flush. After we flushed it the heat was better so the customer picked up the car and paid for the repair. The customer returned the next day and stated the heat was not getting hot from a cold start and idle and it only get warm when the vehicle has been driven for a long time. We inspected the cooling system again and removed the thermostat and we found some cooling system sediment around the thermostat. We advised the customer to change the thermostat. We changed the thermostat and tested the heat at it seamed to work properly. The customer brought the vehicle back 02/07/2017 and stated that the heat was not working. We inspected and found the heat was working but it would cool down at an idle. we thought that there might be air air pocket in the cooling system causing the concern so we bleed the cooling system a number of time and the heat seamed to work properly after that and the customer was not charged for this. On 02/08/2017 customer brought the vehicle back stated the vehicle was blowing cool air again. We inspected the cooling system and we found that there was even more cooling system sediment in the cooling system causing the thermostat to get clogged again. We spoke to the customer and told the customer what we were finding and told the customer we wanted to flush the cooling system out with a stronger flush solution and oval out the thermostat so the thermostat would not close when the stronger solution was going through the system. We explained this to the customer and gave the customer the price and the customer agreed to have us do this to see if this would help. We performed the service and the head was good. We found that after driving the vehicle the heat seemed to get a little cooler and we would have to put about a cup of anti freeze in the system and it would immediately get hot. We did this several times and each time we did we had the same results. We came to the conclusion that the vehicle is burning the coolant causing the coolant level to go down ever so slightly causing the vehicle to blow luke warm air. We advised the customer that we would have to take the engine apart to check the cylinder head to see if there was something wrong with the cylinder head like a hair line crack in the head causing it to loose coolant. The customer decided not to do anything because of the age and because the vehicle has over [redacted] mile on it.

Why wasn't all this checked the first day? Why did they charge me twice for a thermostat?

Vince has been calling to let her know we will fix ALL remaining issues discussed, including the head gasket, for the $1,600. This will keep the total within the original $2,700 estimate from Vince.
We are not sure where the mix ups happened. But we are still checking into that part. We are always looking to improve our processes and strive to make things right with our customers.
Please let us know if [redacted] or the Revdex.com has any questions. Either of whom may contact myself, Jim [redacted] or better yet, Vince [redacted] He has the most knowledge of this instance.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No I do not except they response because it is not right or fair. Yes Vince called me and left a message as I have already told the Revdex.com to pay for other services to be done on my car, he did not say in any of his messages that they will fix everything and including the head gaskets for 2700.00. Why in the world would I trust these people and pay them more money to fix other issues with my car and they never fixed the issues that brought me in to their shop which was my oil leakage. They are liars and just trying to get more money out of me and they never fixed my car right in the first place. I have no intentions on ever going back to that dealership for anything to be fixed, I can not trust them and will not take my car back there ever. Those people are only out for money that I don't have to pay people and they don't do they job correctly. Vince was the one who quoted me the first price 1027.00 to have my oil leak fix and after 3 to 5 days I'm still leaking the same oil. I want my money back from them so I can go elsewhere to have my car fix correctly, this is my only transportation too and from work and I am living with a one working income and I don't have money to throw away with Christensen. I have filed a complaint on them with Revdex.com and now I'm suppose to trust them and pay them to fix other issues on my car, that would be totally crazy of me to do so. I am asking for my 1027.00 to be refunded back to me. What they did to me is like robbing a blind person and they should never get away with anything like this. Please take my complaint in to serious thought, I don't have 2700.00 to have Christensen message my car up even more and if I did I certainly will never go back to that company. I love my Chevy and my plans was to get another Chevy in the future and my thoughts were to go back to Christensen to the guy who solved me the car but now I will never step foot back in Christensen Hammond Indiana. Thank you
