My wife and I (as well as another couple) booked our rooms almost three months in advance so that we could attend a Brit Floyd concert in Downtown PensacolaWe received written confirmation for our rooms in April confirming our reservation We also received at least two phone calls from the hotel confirming our reservations One phone call was just two days before we were to arrive and at that time we even made a reservation for the dining roomWe were to check in on Saturday, June and stay that evening On the evening of Friday, June at 9:PM we received a text message from this hotel arbitrarily cancelling our reservation We immediately called the hotel and were informed by a manager that the hotel "was totally booked" and that because of a glitch in their computer system, they were overbooked and could not honor our reservation even though we had made them well in advance The best they could do was book us into another hotel seven miles away from Downtown Pensacola at a cost of approximately dollars more per room The management refused to reimburse us for the price differential in room costs or for any parking fees incurred, or for just wasting our time in general When I asked the manager if any patrons currently staying in the hotel had booked their rooms after us, she said "yes, but they are already here and they refuse to leave" But she did say that she knew of our reservation with the restaurant and they would throw in a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne That's it??? Needless to say, I found such a response inexplicable, and, quite frankly unbelievable We were left out in the cold to find our own hotel rooms with less than a hour time frame If we had ever contemplated canceling a reservation in a or hour time frame, you can best believe that the New World Inn would have charged our AMEX accordingly! Poor business practices do not promote long term client relationships Henceforth, I will be contacting the Pensacola Revdex.com to file a formal complaint I will never utilize the New World Inn again, and I strongly recommend any potential clients to double and triple check your reservations carefully, - BEWARE this institution will cancel whenever it fits their need...it seems anyway after our experience

On the evening of Friday, June 23 at 9:00 PM we received a text message from this hotel arbitrarily cancelling our reservation. We immediately called the hotel and were informed by a manager that the hotel "was totally booked" and that because of a glitch in their computer system, they were overbooked and could not honor our reservation even though we had made them well in advance. The best they could do was book us into another hotel seven miles away from Downtown Pensacola at a cost of approximately 100 dollars more per room. The management refused to reimburse us for the price differential in room costs or for any parking fees incurred, or for just wasting our time in general. When I asked the manager if any patrons currently staying in the hotel had booked their rooms after us, she said "yes, but they are already here and they refuse to leave". But she did say that she knew of our reservation with the restaurant and they would throw in a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne. That's it???

Needless to say, I found such a response inexplicable, and, quite frankly unbelievable . We were left out in the cold to find our own hotel rooms with less than a 24 hour time frame. If we had ever contemplated canceling a reservation in a 24 or 48 hour time frame, you can best believe that the New World Inn would have charged our AMEX accordingly!

Poor business practices do not promote long term client relationships. Henceforth, I will be contacting the Pensacola Revdex.com to file a formal complaint. I will never utilize the New World Inn again, and I strongly recommend any potential clients to double and triple check your reservations carefully, - BEWARE this institution will cancel whenever it fits their need...it seems anyway after our experience.
