Sky auto repair, Manteca, Ca wow I wish I would have read some reviews I never would have taken my moms ccar to this joke. My dad when he was alive always said if a man is always making excuses he more than likely is hiding something or he doesn't know what he is doing. Read the reviews all his answers get off point in fact he goes in detail tto prove his point, hum don't you think that would have been resolved there?

Review: Auto shop was hired to smog my vehicle. The vehicle passed all tests, but vendor failed the test because of an altered intake. It was a simple K&N air filter which required a California C.A.R.B. sticker displayed. The vendor missed the sticker during his inspection. I knew nothing about about it so I couldn't even point it out to him. When I took the vehicle to my mechanic to ask him what the vendor was talking about, he quickly pointed it out to me and told me to go back to the smog vendor and show him. When I got back to the vendor, he said that the sticker was not there previously and that I had my mechanic put a sticker on for me, therefor was going to charge me an additional smog fee to re-do the vehicle. I have since taken my vehicle to another smog vendor and had it smog'd, no problem. The vendor will claim that the sticker was not on the vehicle at the time of inspection, but I can get sworn statements from my mechanic from the same day and I have even attached an irrefutable photograph which will clearly show the sticker has been there for quite some time.Desired Settlement: I want my $52.50 back, and the vendor admonished for not only failing to complete the job for which he was hired, but for not standing up for the customer and assuming that everyone is out to cheat them in some way.

Dear Sir,

The Visual inspections are used to assist in the identification of crankcase and cold start emission which are measured during the ASM test. The Cold air intake system was modified and had no CARB approved # on it or any where on the upper radiator support. I informed the customer, who was standing close to me while I was conducting visual inspection, that the cold air intake has no CARB approved #. He replied, that it has been passed smog inspection 2 years ago. I told him that I do not know about 2 years ago but it fails now since there is no CARB approved # on the cold air intake system. We do not make the rules, we are here to enforced them. He left and came back a week later, asked me to perform an inspection without charging him again. ( It take a week to order CARB # from manufacturer ). I refused to perform a free inspection on his truck. If there was a sticker on the vehicle, I would see it, I asked him as well where is the sticker, he had no answer, since there was no CARB approved sticker in the vehicle, the time I did the inspection. So, I am not giving him a refund at all or will not do a free inspection. No one is above the law. I enforce the CARB law over all customers.
