I am rejecting this response because:Mr [redacted] is just trying to cover for the deception made by his organization.  My story is not at all fabrication but is fact.  Mr [redacted] responses however are not consistent.  My daughter had every intention of playing with tne Sky high organization based upon tne promises and guarantees made otherwise I certainly would not have  paid the fees in full when it was not necessary. The only mistake I made was to trust them and believed their verbal guarantees. Sky High did not hold up their end of the bargain but now wants to cover  it up to protect their image.  The fact remains that my daughter was released from her contract by the region commissioner and has not revived any services from them.  They are fraudulent in keeping my money and in my mind bordering on criminal activity. I fully believe we are entitled to our money back and request a full refund.
Sincerely,
Sandy [redacted]

Sky High Volleyball has been in business since 1989. It has been our policy never to promise any customer/player which team they will be assigned. Instead we practice for a couple weeks, our staff evaluates each player and then a decision is made on team placement. it is my opinion that once we announced the teams this athlete did not agree with our decision and wanted out. The customer (parent) then states our coach promised a specific team at tryouts and basically accuses us of lying. This did not happen. Customer (Sandy) is fabricating a story with the hopes of receiving a refund. Her signed contract is clear. Regardless of the amount of participation they must pay the fees in full. Sincerely,Scott [redacted], Executive DirectorSincerely,Scott [redacted], Executive Director

I am rejecting this response because:  I remain adamant about Sky High deceptive business practice.  Mr [redacted] is obviously trying to cover up their wrongdoing as it is not in their favor to admit such.  He states a few things that I would like to address.  First,  my daughter did play at tne Sky High Vernon Hills location 2 years ago.  The difference between now and then is that no promises/guarantees were made and she did not make the#1 team at that time either. Secondly,  she did try out for JO and was not chosen.  At which time we were about to leave as it was never our         intention to sign with them for regional. At this time coach Amy did approach us trying to convince us to let our daughter play on HER regional team. I stated my opinion in that I would rather she go tryout for another club.  With that she started making her promises and guarantees stating that our daughter was very good and justthe tiniest bit away from making JO which is why she wanted her on HER #1 team as starting setter.  I clearly and specifically asked Amyr how she can guarantee her that position and she said "I'm the head setter coach over all 16's teams and I make the decisions". It was at that point that Mr [redacted] approached saying my daughter should so be  our there with the regional girls trying out and Amy adamantly said "oh no I've got this she's going to be in MY team" to which Mr [redacted] put his hands in tne air and said "well ok then" and walked away to get the contracts. Third,  in regard to team replacement Mr [redacted] be we referred to this because I had stated immediately that by us leaving in no way affected the team due to the fact that there were 12 girls on the team already with 2 others being setters.  Fourth,  it is correct that our daughter was fortunate enough to find another position with another club after my attempt to reach out to a few clubs in the area. One did not have any openings and fortunately 1 did.  She tried out and was offered the position.  However,  none of this took place until after their decision to not honor their side  of the deal.  Our decision to leave the club due to this issue was made clear immediately upon learning of their deception.  We would have remained committed to that decision regardless of whether she was able to find another position or not and I stated this to Mr [redacted] many times.  Proof of timing in regard to this matter can be proven upon request.  A few other facts to point out are Mr [redacted]' attitude throughout this process.  He has been quite cocky and demeaning by making these statements "you should have got it in writing" with a little laugh and "go ahead take me to small claims court.  Waste your time and money " again with a small laugh. Additionally,  since this incident in talking to others they have stated that they had the same type of issue with this club and it's coaches and management.  And in ending I would like to point out that if I was unsure in any way of the type of position and guarantee that was made to us I certainty would not have paid the fees of $1595 in full when I had the option of paying them in smaller increments. To this end I stand behind my statement and complaint and request my $ be returned.
Sincerely,
Sandy [redacted]

Sandy [redacted]'s daughter played for Sky High two years ago and was very familiar with our policies. After playing at another club last year, they came back for the current season. They paid their tryout fee of $45. Sandy claims my coach, Amy [redacted], promised her daughter to play on her team. Our...

entire staff understands never to promise our customers, which team they will play with. They must make the program (which they did) and then practice for a few weeks so the staff can determine which team they are assigned. In this case there are three different teams. The [redacted] girl was assigned to what would be considered our second team. Of course, all players aspire to be on our top teams however, they are not guaranteed anything. At the final tryout, Sandy, her husband and daughter had a conversation with Amy [redacted], the coach. Amy stated she was doing a nice job and that she trains all setters on all teams in this age group. Amy further stated after the [redacted]'s asked some questions that it is possible she could be coaching their daughter however, it was all based on how she did the first few weeks of practice. In the meantime, the [redacted]'s signed a binding contract and paid the tuition of $1,595.00 in full. When they requested a refund we stated nothing was ever promised in terms of the specific team only that Amy would definitely be training their daughter in setter's practices. After speaking with Amy [redacted], she concurred that she had never promised anything. It is important to note [redacted] tried out for one of our travel teams and was not selected and after speaking with Amy [redacted], head coach of our 16 Regional group, [redacted] decided to play Regional with Sky High. When [redacted] approached me for a refund I stated that would be impossible unless we could find a replacement who plays the same position at the same level. At this point, anyone who had been cut by Sky High had moved on to other programs. Sky High believes the athlete had an opportunity to play travel at another club after she committed to our Regional program and was looking for a good reason to receive a refund. [redacted] accepted the Regional position, signed the contract and paid in full. No promises were made. No refund will be issued. A copy of the signed contract can be provided upon request
