Review: I signed a contract with [redacted], the owner of Sky Home Improvements, on 9/30/13 for work to be completed at my daughter's home in Fairfax, VA. According to the contract, work was to begin approximately 10/4. [redacted] came to my daughter's home with an associate 2 days in December. He broke over a dozen agreements through the fall and winter to come and work on the home. Reasons given included: death in the family, illness (multiple times, both he and his daughter), theft of his equipment while on a job site (while he was supposed to be home sick acc. to a previous communication), trouble renewing his business license and holiday celebrations. The work he did in December to remove the shingles on our carport roof and replace plywood was left unfinished. We alerted him via text message and by [redacted] letter that pieces of the felt paper were tearing off the roof (having been left exposed with no shingles) and were landing in the yard where my and my neighbor's children play. As of March 6, we could tolerate the delays and the safety concerns no longer and had another contractor finish the work (after [redacted] failed to come to work and did not contact us for 2 days, he says due to his phone and laptop being stolen). We do not wish to take this matter to court, but we would like other people to be aware of his inability to keep appointments and to finish work in a timely fashion.Desired Settlement: We would like a refund on the felt him to remove his materials and equipment from our property as soon as possible.
