Review: Skydell was contracted to build a sun room. The roof leaked within the first year of completed construction and Skydell continuously performed roof repair work on the sun room since 2008. Each year the roof leaked and he performed patch work which ultimately failed. The roof leaked again several weeks ago and again I contacted Skydell to repair their issue, however this time he sent me an invoice for the repair work.. The roof was never properly constructed in 2008 and should have never leaked. I have all documented visits since 2008. Skydell needs to fix my roof once and for all and not charge me for construction I already paid for in 2008.Desired Settlement: Final roof inspection and proper repair at no charge since I already paid for proper and complete construction in 2008.

We have contacted the customer and resolved the issue, we agreed to pay the roofer for the repair, even though it was out of warranty (by 5-6 years). This discrepency boils down to warranty and how long we warranty our work for. The original work was completed in 2008 and comes with a one year workmanship warranty (which is an industry standard). The customer believed we would warranty this work for longer. We have made several trips out at no charge for the customer over the years.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me at this time. I do not agree with Mr. [redacted] statement on the workmanship warranty. The roof was never properly installed during the original construction, which I have clear documentation outlining each of skydell's follow up visits. Original faulty workmanship remains as root cause of the leaks, otherwise repair work 6 months post completed construction would not be needed. If my roof continues to leak in the future I will open another complaint, but for now its settled.
