On 4/10/17 the c-max was towed in with a “pull over safely” message then vehicle died and would not restart.   When the vehicle was brought it if started up just fine with no messages being displayed.   Tech found a code P0562.  Followed pinpoint test and everything...

was passing.  Code led him to the PCM relay.  Tested with known good relay and system still passed.   Road tested and retested vehicle, no codes present and system still passing.   Vehicle was released back to the customer. On 4/26/17 the customer brought the vehicle into our shop for a strange buzzing noise from inside the vehicle.  The tech diaged the concern and found that the in car temperature sensor was the cause of the noise.   Vehicle was release back to customer. On 4/28/17 the c-max was towed back in for a dead battery.  Tech was able to verify battery was dead this time.  Pulled code U3008 for BCM(body control module)fault.  Replaced BCM, road test and retest, no further concerns at this time. On the weekend of 4/30/17 the customer called V to say that the battery was dead again.  The customer called roadside and they jumped her battery and she drove it in.  The tech on 5/1/17 was not able to verify the dead battery concern nor was there any codes stored in the system.  We monitored the vehicle for a few days and ended up getting the battery to drain down.  Extensive diag and monitoring of the system we came to find that the TCU(which is the embedded modem)was powering up causing the battery to drain.  We installed a new TCU and monitored the vehicle for over 1 week, almost 2 weeks with no concerns.  The customer picked up the vehicle and I have followed up with the them about 5 days after the pick up and everything was still running great.   The [redacted]'s were offered  a loaner vehicle every time their vehicle was in our shop . We also submitted for payment re-imbursement  which Ford Motor Co approved and the [redacted]'s have already received.
