Sliding Doors Express Reviews (%countItem)

I would not recommend this company. They lack in honesty.
On 5/27/2020 I ordered one sliding door and screens. I submitted a deposit of $1500.00 on the same day leaving a balance of $729.00. I was told it would take 5-7 days for delivery and installation. On Friday 5/29/2020 I received a call from Sliding Doors saying they have my order and they would be at my residence on 5/30/2020 between 2PM - 4PM. At 4:05pm I contacted customer service after not receiving a call from installers or Sliding Doors customer service. I was told at that time the installers were finishing another job and would call me once they were on the way to my residence. At 6:30pm the installers arrived to install the doors. After the doors were completely installed minus the screens. A check for $350.00 was given to the installer. I asked where are the screens. At that point and only at that point I was told they did not have the screens. At no time prior to the door being completely installed was I informed the screens were not with the doors. I was then told someone from the office would call me on Monday 6/1/2020 to set an appointment to delivery and install the screens. This I find to be a very bad business practice. I was never contacted on Monday. I called on Monday at 2:41pm after not hearing from them. I was told by Adriana that someone would contact me when they got the screens. I informed Adriana this is not what I was told. This is an unacceptable business practice customers being giving pertinent information after the fact. No one from Sliding Doors has contacted me about the delivery and installation of the screens. On 6/18/2020 at 12:20pm I called Sliding doors and was told someone would contact me by the end of the business day. To date I have not been contacted by Sliding Doors. I have not received the screens or any information regarding the screens. During installation of the sliding doors a hole was put in the door frame by installers. Sliding door failed to deliver the screens as promised. This leaves me with customer service issues, delivery issues, service issues and property damage issues. Sliding Doors not only operates evasively toward their customers, they also have a pattern of deceptive business practices. In addition two email complaints were sent to Sliding Doors. The first email complaint was sent on 6/1/2020 at 6:40pm. No reply was received. This email was resubmitted on 6/15/2020 at 2:03pm. No reply was received. To rectify this issue I am seeking a $600.00 refund plus the delivery and installation of the screens. To rectify this issue I am seeking a $600.00 refund plus the delivery and installation of the screens.

Desired Outcome

To rectify this issue I am seeking a $600.00 refund plus the delivery and installation of the screens.

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Paid over $2k to have sliding doors fixed. Less than 6 months later, screws were rusting and breaking off. Called to set up appointment and told them to bring stainless steel screws - appointment set for 10AM-12PM on 6/24/20. Nobody showed up. I called at 12:20 & they said technician would be there soon. Nobody showed up again. I called at 2:30 and they said someone would be here by 3:30. Nobody showed up. I got a call from the technician saying he didn't have any rustproof screws and couldn't come. I called back and they said they needed 2 technicians due to the door weight (they knew our house, as we've spent nearly $5k with them over the past 5 years). I asked to speak with the owner or manager, who of course were not available. Terrible, terrible service.

David was very professional at his job David

Very prompt, neat and professional.

We were charged $446 as the "cost of the parts" only to find the retail price is $74 at our local door supply (retail not cost)!
Service technican was Adam . . .highly skilled but very deceptive and dishonest when I spoke to him directly after I found the real cost of the parts. Adam said the company told him to charge that much for the parts.

Service date was 4/24/19 (invoice XXXXX)
Total price paid was $840 = 19 serice + $375 labor + 446 "cost of parts"
Verbal agreement was $375 + cost of parts

My complaint is only with the cost of the parts
part is PGT roller SGD770 (1 set contains 2 rollers) available many places including Newman Windows and Doors in Riveria Beach, FL for $73.58

I am requesting $446-73.58 = 372.42 which I was overcharged.

Desired Outcome

$372.42 refund for the over charges on the cost of the parts.

Hello, As Mr. *** mentioned the price was presented to him and had agreed to the terms.
As well he agreed to pay and signed the receipt that the job was done to his satisfaction.
We also provide him with full warranty on parts and labor for one year.
We don't think its on the customer to decide how much a company should charge for the service or the product it sales, but in order to keep each one of our customers happy we are welcome Mr. to contact us and we will check what can be done further to help him.

Best Regards,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Contacted the company. They recognize that they charged 6X more than retail cost for the set of rollers ($446 vs $75 ) and feel that is their perogative. The quote was $375 for labor and the cost of the parts. The technician could not quote the cost of the parts until he took the door apart to see what was wrong. He told my wife the rollers would be more expensive than regular rollers since it was an impact glass sliding door. She asked what choice she had and he said there really was none if we wanted the door fixed. He sent his partner to get the parts. The cost of the parts was not disclosed nor discussed prior to the job being completed. My wife just trusted the technician. She signed off on the invoice as to the work being satisfactorily completed and paid the technician, not having any idea what a reasonable cost would have been. At that point the work was complete and she felt that she had no choice. Warranty was never discussed, we never would have paid anything extra for that - if that is what they are trying to hide behind. After my phone conversation today, the manager did offer to send us a check for $84, a 10% discount on the total bill, to resolve the issue and provide a favorable response to Revdex.com. We declined as a matter of principal as it did not touch the egregious overcharge, and more importantly, the deceptive behavior of the company. Although this company was responsive and satisfactorily fixed the door, I would not recommend using them. They totally took advantage of my wife and her trusting nature, and when called out on it, they basically said they were OK with charging 6X more than other retailers for parts (especially if they can get away with it!) Buyer Beware !

Hello, Please note that we have responded, spoke with the customer and even offered her partial refund but it was not enough for her since she want to decide how much she gets back and basically not willing to cooperate. We did the maximum for this customer. thank you.

Great service they came quickly and fixed my door

Very professional and on time.

Emerson was on time, he did check the problem and fix it. Highly recommend

We needed help with our 34 year old sliders and found your company through Home Advisor. They schedule our appointment for the same day. Adam arrived, checked out the problem, gave us an estimate and we said go ahead. He was thorough, clean and very professional and polite! What a dream to have them working so well! Would highly recommend this company and Adam.

Thank you for your feedback.

These people overcharge to the point of robbery. They charged me $150.00 for a part I later found on Amazon for $9.95!Also the was a labor charge of $175.00 for 20 minutes work, that was on top of the service charge.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I told them to come back and take their part. They refused.

Sliding Doors Express Response • Feb 13, 2019

Hello,

Our Technician presented the customer our company rates for this type of repair, as we always do.
The customer agreed to the price and asked the technician to do the job.
He paid the bill which means that he was satisfied with the job and more than that he signed the receipt that the job was completed to his satisfaction.
Also would like to add that when the customer called our office to complaint he was offered complementary partial refund which he refused to receive and said (quote) "you can keep the money I just prefer to bad mouth on you"
We do not use Amazon or Home Depot parts but best quality US made parts and we decide how much to charge for our service, its for the customer to decide either to accept or not.
We provide full 1 year warranty fo each repair and insurance if needed.

Thank you
