This
reply is in regard to a complaint submitted to the Revdex.com from my
customer [redacted]. Id#[redacted].
We
installed a new furnace and air conditioning system for...

Mr. &
Mrs. [redacted]. The initial job was completed on Friday July 18th.
Our company received a call from Mr. [redacted] on the evening of 7/21/14
that there was an electrical smell coming from his Main Electrical
panel and that he had turned off the ac system breaker.
My
technician on call that night informed me of the problem and I
responded myself that night. At that time I pulled the panel cover
and discovered that the main 100 amp breaker and the 30 amp air
conditioning breaker were defective and started to melt the panel. I
was going to replace both breakers but found that the main electrical
panel would need replacing. Both breakers were existing and not
installed by our technicians at the time of installation. When we
worked on the panel we installed a new ground fault breaker per code
and replaced his existing furnace 20 amp breaker with a new 15 amp
circuit for the furnace per code. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that we
had not worked on those breakers that were defective and would have
to have an electrician change the panel which could cost from $700.00
to $800.00. Even though we had nothing to do with the offending
breakers I offered to split half of the cost at that time.
During
my conversation with Mr. [redacted] on the night of the 21st,
Mr. [redacted] said that he was in the cable business and that he
sometimes ran into the same problems with his customers. He stated
that they may work on part of the cable system and then the TV
doesn’t work and they had nothing to do with the TV going out.
What occurred at the [redacted] home was a similar situation.

On
Tuesday I checked with my install crew and found out that our permit
would allow us to replace the panel. Seeing how upset Mr. & Mrs.
[redacted] were I instructed my install crew to change out the panel that
after noon and we did so at our own cost on Tuesday July 22nd.
The panel was totally replaced and then everything was inspected by
the city of Parma on July 31st.
Everything passed inspection. I received your complaint letter from
the Revdex.com on July 24th
after we had already taken care of the problem on July 22nd
.
I
hope Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] are happy with their new system. I am
sorry that they felt they had to revert to the Revdex.com. I have been in
business for almost 25 years and try to take care of my customers
before such an action is necessary.
