No support or contact replies from slimgenics, I now have $700 of product that is worthless to me
I called slimgenics, seems like a good plan, I signed up over the phone last week, received the $700 worth of product in the mail. I am supposed to get 30 days of free coaching support.

I received the products late last week, I figured I's start on Monday which is what the person on the phone suggested.

I called on Monday - no reply

I called on Tues - no reply

On Tues I went online and setup a free phone consultation for 2pm Mountain Time

I called on Wed (today 11/1) - no answer

I waited for the free consultation call at 2pm, it is now 2:25pm - no call

I now have $700 of slimgenics product and ZERO guidance / support / coaching as I had been promised.

Now I'm pissed and will likely purse legal action to get my money back

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2016/03/04) */ We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by MsK (abbreviated here to protect her privacy)MsKenrolled in our program on March 10th, with a goal of losing poundsShe was advised during her consultation and when she signed her contract that her program would expire on October 27, and that her program weeks would run consecutivelyWe also discussed our service guarantee, which is fully disclosed and documented within the contract MsK signed upon enrollmentThe service guarantee provides our clients with assurance that we will extend their expiration date with no additional charge if they do not reach their goal in the allotted time, with the expectation that the client will follow the program as directed, visit the center three times per week, and that they will purchase and consume certain nutritional supplements as directed During her program, MsKpurchased and earned several extra "weight loss weeks", which extended her program expiration date to February 23, As of her last visit the week of February 22, 2016, MsKhad lost a total of pounds, pounds away from her goal weightShe was advised at that time, as was the case during several prior counseling visits, of the fact that her program was expiring and that she would not have enough time remaining on her program to have the opportunity to go through the balance and weight control phases of the programShe was not eligible for our service guarantee as she did not meet the requirements that were communicated from the outset of her programOur staff explained that to continue on with the program and reach her goal, MsKwould need to purchase additional weeksWe asked that she purchase half of the weeks needed to complete her program and we would provide the additional weeks free of chargeMsKrefused demanding that we provide her with all of the weeks she needed for free until she completed her program Had MsKfollowed the program as advised and agreed to comply with our recommendations regarding her program, she would have reached her goal weight within the time allotted We believe that our offer is fairWe remain ready to assist her should she wish to reengage with her program, where she left offAs her program has expired, the offer to reactivate her program will be available to her through March 31, Should she decide not to reengage with her program and purchase the weeks (we will match the other weeks) needed to reach her goal and complete the final phases of the program, we will assume she is satisfied with her current weight and close her file Thank you for your considerationPlease let us know if there is anything we can provide that would be helpful

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the complaint filed by Mrand MrsE (last name abbreviated for privacy purposes) The clients enrolled in our program on December 17, after receiving a complimentary consultation One of our most seasoned and knowledgeable team members conducted the clients’ consultation and reviewed the one-page program contract in detail with Mrand MrsE After reviewing each topic of the terms and conditions section of the contract, she asked Mrand MrsEto initial next to each paragraph, acknowledging the individual policies, which they both did Both Mrand MrsEsigned the contract and received a copy for their recordsNotable sections from the contract that were specifically reviewed with Mrand MrsEand which they initialed, signed and received a copy of, include: “I hereby acknowledge that my program has been explained in its entirety, including all of the required costs of the program and conditions of the Service Guarantee” “I understand that all sales are final and that all sand services are non-cancelable Further, I understand that any and all supplements or other products I receive or purchase are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable once the supplement or product leaves the Center”“I further understand that results may vary with individuals depending upon how well one adheres to the program” After enrolling on December 17th, Mrand MrsEwere advised that they had the option to purchase products during their program, at their discretion, or they could take advantage of initial savings by purchasing products in bulk at the beginning of their programThey returned to the center days later, on December 29th, and notified the staff that they wanted to purchase products at a discount They were reminded of our policy that products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once they leave the center They also signed receipts at the time of purchase, which clearly disclose this policy directly below the signature panel in bold lettering At the time of their enrollment we asked Mrand MrsE to provide information about their individual health history, including any allergies and medications we should be aware of Our records indicate that MrEdenied having any food allergies or food sensitivities at the time we reviewed his health history with him On January 8th, almost a month after enrolling in the program, MrEadvised a program advisor that he had an allergy to egg whites Initially he had included eggs as a food that he ate quite often prior to starting our programRegardless of MrE.’s allergy or sensitivity, he could have continued to follow our program as it is primarily based on consuming regular every-day foods that are purchased at grocery stores or in restaurants We provide our clients with instructions regarding the types of foods they should consume and in what portions Clients are asked to consume our Thermo-Snack products, which are necessary to ensure clients are consuming an appropriate amount of protein Our supplements are optional and are offered as solutions to alleviate common concerns among those losing weight On January 21st during a counseling visit we noticed some off-plan foods had been consumed by MrE, including beef jerky, and the client informed us that he would not be removing the jerky from his diet We discussed the need to follow the plan as closely as possible to see the best results, but our recommendations were met with resistance We encountered similar resistance from MrsE During her counseling visits we noticed she was frequently deviating from the plan by eating off-plan foods and she was consuming foods such as beef five days in a row, which we advised against Despite the deviations from plan, both Mrand MrsEwere losing weight and seeing success After not seeing MrEin our center since February 5th, we called MrE and spoke with MrsE MrsEadvised us that her husband would not be coming in anymore but would not elaborate as to why We have continued to contact Mrand MrsEin an effort to connect and let them know we are still here to help them We invite them to contact us as soon as possible so we can create a plan to help them reach their goals We have been honest and forthright in all of our interactions with Mrand MrsEand we have disclosed our policies with them from the beginning While they may have changed their mind about losing weight, we have provided the tools, support, and products necessary to follow our program, and as such, a refund is unwarranted

Ms [redacted] attended a consultation and made an informed buying decision to enroll in the programAll costs were fully disclosed to her and the decision to purchase additional nutritional supplements was her choiceMs [redacted] was not forced to purchase anything; she was not forced to enroll in the program and she was not forced into the additional purchases she made after enrollingSlimGenics does not prey on people; our team is here to help individuals’ lead healthier lives, provide support and to administer a healthy, balanced food planWe have thousands of successful clients today because they embraced their individualized food plan and followed our recommendations, lost their weight and maintained their resultsMs [redacted] was having difficulty following her plan in week one, deviating from the beginning and never followed her plan guidelinesShe did not give the food plan a chance to work for her before quittingShe is correct, we do recommend nutritional supplements to complement a food plan; however, they are not required to lose weight as she is stating she was toldThe requirements of the program is reiterated in all the documentation she signed(attached)At our centers we create an environment that is supportive and positiveOur staff wants to help Ms [redacted] succeed as well as all of our other clientsIf Ms [redacted] feels individuals that are positive and friendly are “over the top”, a supportive, welcoming environment may not be for herHer inappropriate language (profanity) when staff members reach out to support her were completely uncalled forWe wish her success in her journey to find good healthWe can award Ms [redacted] a refund of her service fees and cancel her contractA refund of product purchased will not be consideredOur processes were followed, ethical sales practices ensued and Ms [redacted] made an informed buying decision on separate occurrences Sincerely SlimGenics Advisory Committee

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to MsK’s (name abbreviated for privacy reasons) concerns. MsKinitially enrolled in our program in November of 2014. Her program expired December 2, 2015. At the time of her enrollment she opted to purchase many of the products
she would need for the duration of her program at once. This was not mandatory and was a cost-savings opportunity. She purchased additional items over a six month period. MsKlost nearly pounds in her first months on the program but then her weight loss gradually stopped and she slowly began to gain weight. It was during the time she was inexplicably gaining that she informed us that she had food allergies/sensitivities. We work with clients who have a variety of food sensitivities and allergies but most often these conditions are known at the time of enrollment and we are able to modify the client’s program accordingly right from the start. In more complex cases we maintain contact with the client’s physician to co-manage their program. MsKwas apparently not aware of her allergies/sensitivities until after she successfully lost pounds and was well into her program. Once she made us aware of her allergies, we began to make modifications in an attempt to learn what foods were problematic versus those that she could consume without issue. It was a process of elimination and continual modifications to better understand her unique situation. We were relying upon MsKto relay her physician’s advice and we made every effort to accommodate her needs and assist her as much as we could, despite her restrictions. We do not feel that a refund is warranted as we enrolled MsKin good faith with the information we had at the time and our team made a concerted effort to accommodate her changing needs with the information we had available. We fully disclosed our policies and made sure she had access to program experts within our company throughout her program. We would appreciate the opportunity to assist MsKand would like to provide her with a fresh start with a new program to enable her to lose her weight. Given her health concerns we will request the opportunity to work directly with her physician to better understand her unique situation. Please ask MsKto contact us so we can determine a time to meet with her to discuss her goals and concerns

Thank you for allowing us to discuss this matter with Ms***Our representative has met with her and together they were able to resolve this matter.Sincerely,SlimGenics Advisory Committee

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Pending final response and if refund is received? I have to wait to get a refund and they have had access to my money for almost a whole month even after knowing that my physicians did not accept the diet due to my health conditionsI do not appreciate the lack of understanding in this whole situation and the reason why I can't trust this company to support me in my weight loss in my futureI had a very low blood sugar and was continuously ignored while I was in a meeting with them, that I still don't understand

Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms*** concernA representative of SlimGenics has contacted Ms*** and together they have reached an amicable resolution regarding this matter. We wish Ms*** continued success and look forward to serving her. Thank you!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/07) */
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the concerns shared by the above referenced clientWe conducted a consultation with the client on Monday, March 9th, 2015, at which time she was provided with a full explanation of our program and
our service guaranteeAfter taking some time to decide if she wanted to enroll in the SlimGenics program, the client returned to the center three days later on March 12th to get startedShe was asked to sign a program contract which explains that, for the health and safety of our clients, our products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once they leave the centerWe reviewed the one-page contract with the client emphasizing important components of the program, in the interest of transparency and full-disclosureThe client initialed and signed the contract at the time of her enrollment on March 12th
The client visited the center additional times from the time she enrolled until her latest visit on May 5, After her initial enrollment on March 12th, she made purchases out of the times she visited the centerHer purchases were tied to various sales and discounts that were offered both in the center and via offers she received by emailEach time she made a purchase, we asked that she sign a "purchase receipt" which includes a disclosure regarding our no refunds policy
The purchase of our *** at 2-boxes per week is a required part of our program in order for our service guarantee to be validOur service guarantee allows a client's program to be extended until they attain their healthy goal weight, provided they are following the basic parameters of the guaranteeThe purchase of our *** is one of these parametersThis requirement is disclosed on our program contact and program quotation, which the client initialed and signedAll other product purchases are optional and are not part of our service guarantee
The above-referenced client has an active program with SlimGenics through October 8th of this yearShe is entitled to visit any of our centers up to six times per week at no additional charge until her program expires
We have provided the client with our program materials, guides, food lists, and counseling servicesShe has received the benefit of her program and has all of the materials needed to continue with her program independent of our services, if she so choosesShe has also taken possession of all of the products she purchasedFor this reason, we feel we have met our obligation and do not feel that a refund is due
We remain willing to assist the client administer the program she has purchased through October 8th, We encourage her to visit any of our centers to continue her program
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They are lying about being transparentThey told me there wouldn't be anything else to buy before I signed the contractI was rushed by the counselor and they did not mention not being able to return itemsThe print on the contract can hardly be readI want my money back as I will never return to a place of business that has such a scam going
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/08/04) */
Thank you once again for the opportunity to respond to this inquiry
Our consultation and enrollment process provide a thorough and comprehensive overview of our program, our services, and our policiesAt the time of enrollment, clients are asked to sign a one-page contract where we clearly state and explain our policiesAs we review the contract with the client, we ask that they initial in several places to indicate that we reviewed the terms and conditions with themThis is done to provide full disclosure and maintain consistent protocol when establishing a new relationship with a clientThe client receives a copy of the contract at the time of enrollment
The client's contract includes both her initials and signature indicating that the information was presented and clearly disclosed at the time of enrollment
Despite the client's claims that her class was minutes, the presentation itself takes approximately minutes due to the amount of information we cover and shareIf the client felt she needed additional explanation or if she needed additional time to review questions, we would have certainly accommodated her at any time during her program - and we remain willing to do so
As mentioned previously, the client continued to visit our center on multiple occasions over a two month time period and decided to purchase products during several of these visitsShe purchased both products that are required as part of the service guarantee as well as other products that are optionalEach time a purchase was made, she signed a purchase receipt where our refund and return policy is prominently and clearly displayed
It is disappointing to learn that the client is unwilling to return to one of our centers to continue to receive counseling on her programShe has been provided with our program, materials, and information necessary to participate in our program whether she visits our centers or decides to continue on without our supportShe also purchased consumable products on multiple occasions that were sold as final purchases
We invite the client to contact the center (or another center, if preferred) to continue her program servicesIf she is amenable to working with us, we will reinstate the period that has already elapsed on her programWe will attempt to reach out to her today to communicate the above as well as our desire to assist her with her weight loss goals
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2015/08/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I only purchased various products because they told me I needed them to succeedI take responsibility for the boxes of snacks every week, but all of the pills and powders that, again, they told me I had to buy them to be successful
I was shown one "class" video that took minutesThey never offered another classI would know if I sat there for minutes!
I would never go back to Slimgenics because of the way they conduct their businessThey are not transparentWhen I signed the papers she did not explain any of it to meThe minute I stopped I gained back pounds in weeksI was following the weight watchers program the day after I decided that I had no money whatsoever to continue buying the overly priced pills and powders
Again the counselors were very high pressure and they barely skimmed my food diaries to see if I was on trackThey never explained once how to be successful with Slimgenics and in fact gave me incorrect information that made me gain weightI am going to continue to get back some of my money until I get reimbursed at least $

Thank you for the opportunity to address Mr***’s issuesFirst, SlimGenics does not advertise $Per dayOur SlimGenics ad states $Per week plus program set up fee with the purchase of a starter packThis was also disclosed to Mr*** on his quote sheet prior to his enrollmentMr
***s healthy goal weight was calculated using a height and weight BMI chart as well as from his body fat analysisIt is not our goal, it is a goal that would categorize him in a healthy category and not an overweight or obese categoryThe purchase of snacks as a required part of Mr***s program was also disclosed to him several times during his consultation, on his quote sheet and his contract all of which acknowledged with his signatureAfter a review of Mr***s file, we have determined that full disclosure took place and Mr*** made an informed buying decision and that he acknowledged our no refund/no exchange policy several timesWe will not refund Mr*** for his startup fee of $as a program was set up for him and explained to him, he lost pound in less than a week! We will also not refund Mr*** for his Starter Pack of Products as he acknowledged our no refund policyWe will grant Mr*** a refund of his unused service weeks at $Per week totaling $and a check will be processed and mailed within daysIf the Revdex.com wishes to review any documentation from Mr***s file we would be happy to provide it Sincerely SlimGenics Advisory Committee

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
We are in transition moving through the Slimgenics programWe are very concerned about ***'s weight loss but not mine so muchThank you for looking at my complaint and addressing our concerns about the program

I am rejecting this response because: My "foul language" was out of frustration after I asked, told and begged this place to leave me alone. I WAS told the supplements were necessary. Everything I bought was out of duress and undue pressure from the salespeople who call themselves counselors. I am now in Weight Watchers, with a very friendly, supportive group, not a group that badgers me constantly to buy things. I did follow the program but was told different things by different people every time I went in there about what I could eat and how to count it. Between that and the many pills I had to take every day, my head was spinning. The stress of this program was unbearable. Refund my money, and I'll be satisfied

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,

Ms. [redacted] attended a consultation and made an informed buying decision to enroll in the program. All costs were...

fully disclosed to her and the decision to purchase additional nutritional supplements was her choice. Ms. [redacted] was not forced to purchase anything; she was not forced to enroll in the program and she was not forced into the 3 additional purchases she made after enrolling. SlimGenics does not prey on people; our team is here to help individuals’ lead healthier lives, provide support and to administer a healthy, balanced food plan. We have thousands of successful clients today because they embraced their individualized food plan and followed our recommendations, lost their weight and maintained their results. Ms. [redacted] was having difficulty following her plan in week one, deviating from the beginning and never followed her plan guidelines. She did not give the food plan a chance to work for her before quitting. She is correct, we do recommend nutritional supplements to complement a food plan; however, they are not required to lose weight as she is stating she was told. The requirements of the program is reiterated in all the documentation she signed. (attached). At our centers we create an environment that is supportive and positive. Our staff wants to help Ms. [redacted] succeed as well as all of our other clients. If Ms. [redacted] feels individuals that are positive and friendly are “over the top”, a supportive, welcoming environment may not be for her. Her inappropriate language (profanity) when staff members reach out to support her were completely uncalled for. We wish her success in her journey to find good health. We can award Ms. [redacted] a refund of her service fees and cancel her contract. A refund of product purchased will not be considered. Our processes were followed, ethical sales practices ensued and Ms. [redacted] made an informed buying decision on 4 separate occurrences.   Sincerely SlimGenics Advisory Committee

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/27) */
Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms. W's concerns (name abbreviated to protect her privacy). We are disheartened by her decision not to continue visiting the center but we remain hopeful that she will change her mind.
Our records...

indicate that Ms. W., scheduled her first appointment at our Eagan, Minnesota location on December 15, 2015. She visited with our center manager and was provided with a complimentary consultation as well as a full explanation of the services we offer. We provided her with a written quotation so she could see everything she would be receiving as part of her program.
Ms. W. stated in her complaint that she did not know she would need to purchase snacks during her program in order to be eligible for our guarantee. However, she signed the quotation pricing acknowledgment which confirms that "Thermo-Snacks are a required part of the program and are an additional cost". This acknowledgement also discloses our policy (in bold print) that "all sales are final".
Ms. W., decided to enroll in our program the same evening she received her consultation. We then reviewed her current medications and health status and nothing was disclosed to us that would suggest Ms. W. would not be able to participate in our program. She signed the health history form acknowledging that the information she provided to us was correct and that no physician release would be required.

We then reviewed our contract with Ms. W., and asked her to sign and initial the main terms and conditions of her contract, including the statement "all product purchases are an extra cost" and another statement "I hereby acknowledge that the no-refund, no-exchange, no-return policy has been fully disclosed to me and that I have read and understand the program quotation, service guarantee, terms and conditions and release of responsibility and that I have received a copy of this contract". It should be noted that our contract is a one-page document as is the program quotation (please find copies attached).
Ms. W. was then provided with her starter pack of products and she signed a purchase receipt. Directly below her signature reads "All Sales are Final. There are no Returns, Exchanges or Refunds".
Although we encourage all clients to visit the center often, daily if possible in the first couple of weeks of their program, Ms. W. did not return to the center until December 28th. She participated in a program explanation class, which true to its name, provides clients with an overview of the program and the products that came in their starter pack. Ms. W. returned to the center the following day and made a purchase for $99.00 - signing the document that indicates our no-return policy.
On January 5th, 2016, Ms. W. provided us with a note from her doctor requesting that she receive a refund for her program, but the doctor did not provide a medical reason why she should not participate. Further, Ms. W. did not disclose any health conditions that would have prompted us to request her physician's approval prior to her enrolling in our program, nor did she indicate she wanted to seek her physician's advice prior to enrolling. She stated on her intake form only that her doctor suggested she lose weight.
Ms. W. currently has in her possession our program materials and the products she purchased. She has everything she needs to follow our program without our direct guidance. With only four visits to our center, Ms. W. did not give us the opportunity to assist her with her weight loss goals.
We endeavor to create an environment of trust with our clients from the outset of their program and believe that it is important that we disclose all information in an upfront and ethical manner. We ensure this by having straightforward protocol and consistent processes in all interactions, but specifically when it comes to our consultations, agreements and policies. The manager Ms. W. met with for her consultation has been with the company for years and has an exemplary record with us. He is known for providing excellent service to our clients and following our policies.
We remain committed to Ms. W. and her weight loss goals. If she would like to receive counseling on her program, we can reinstate the period of time that has already elapsed on her program. We hope to hear from her soon.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/01/28) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It's sad to know that a company that states they are compassionate about people and want to help people and they turn around and can't refund somebody because of a doctor's order or because the person is not happy or the person felt misled or the person felt pressured. When I first came in for my appointment things were not fully disclosed I walked out with a bag thinking that all my thermal snacks for my whole plan was right there and it wasn't that's not the case that was not what was the program was about so that's false. I disclosed everything about my health problems I disclosed that I am following a specialist and that I needed to go in that week to have blood work and everything so this was all disclose my stomach issues and then I was told to take these supplements that in fact made things worse for me I brought those supplements into my doctor and they stated no you don't take this don't take that that's going to make things worse plus soy protein is not good for people with thyroid problems so no just because I signed paperwork doesn't mean it was fully disclosed I ask this person to help me read through this to summarize the paperwork nothing was told to me and that's summary that there is no refunds and no exchanges also I'm a one-car family I can't get to the clinic I cannot be there as expected and this was fully disclosed that first day and even again when you come back in for the next day for the class,You're pressured again to buy more things in the more you buy the more you spend then you get more product or whatever to save money or you don't know when I don't have money this was revealed the first day that I am in a hardship and I was told call whoever would help you call whoever would help you with the car problem I'll shut the door and you call those people. This company to me seems that all they care about is the money and getting their money they're not come they don't care about clients it's the worst customer service that I've ever seen. Other weight loss programs would refund clients and it was resolved I'm asking for half a refund then of my money since yes I did get the supplements which I'm never going to use they're not FDA stamped and they don't work for my conditions and they make things worse and people should not be offering these supplements or suggesting them if they're not medically trained they're not a nurse or doctor and they don't know these things and they should be dishing them out to people. So I am one person out of many that would like a refund. We are in a hardship and I need the money I cannot afford this and I'm being followed by a specialist in the areas of my ailments and that is who I need to be following. My Dr does not have to reveal any of my personal health issues in order for me to dismissed and for you to refund.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/02/08) */
Thank you for sharing Ms. W's response with us.
Ms. W. indicated that her physician suggested that there are certain products that she may not be able to take and foods that she may not be able to consume because of certain sensitivities. We remain open to working with her and her physician to help her reach her weight loss goals while helping her determine which foods she can consume without feeling uncomfortable. As was explained to Ms. W., the SlimGenics program is based on eating healthy everyday grocery store and restaurant food that she will shop for and prepare herself - not prepackaged meals or meal replacements. We offer supplemental products to augment her weight loss but, if her physician provides us with information regarding products or ingredients he would prefer she avoid, we will be able to accommodate her needs, and still assist her with her weight loss program.
Ms. W. disclosed to us that she has tried other weight loss programs and found them to be unsuitable for her. We fully believe that we can help her, if given the opportunity. We welcome the opportunity to hear from her and work together to determine the best way to address her needs. We can provide information to her physician about our program to ensure we can work together in Ms. W.'s best interests.
As mentioned previously, we will reinstate the period of time on Ms. W's program that has already elapsed.
