Review: I had hired [redacted]s handy man service to come out to my residence to fix my back deck. He originally came out and gave me an open ended estimate with a lumber list. After talking for some time that day we realized that because I do not have a detailed plan for the landing of the deck that it would be impossible for him to give me a flat rate bid so we agreed on an hourly rate of $25 an hour. We also agreed that Work would be done the weekend of the May 30th. [redacted] asked me if I could please have a few extra hands here to help him with the heavy stuff. It was agreed that I would supply the lumber and that he would make sure to go look at lumber at [redacted] before I purchase it to make sure that all the lumber he needed was rite. I manage to get all the necessary lumber and arrange to have all the help we needed.The first problem arose when [redacted] on Wednesday night May 27 called me up to tell me that he was not going to be able to do my job on the weekend of the 30th that he had excepted another job that offer him more money to work that weekend. After a lengthy discussion I finally had to except a later date for the weekend of June 13. After all I had ordered and paid for all the lumber. [redacted] came over on the Thursday the 18th to liquid nail 5 footings to the foundations for the five post to support the beam and gave me a bill for 5hrs . [redacted] showed up on Friday June 12th at 9 AM then spent the next four hours putting up a 4 x 4 x 16 I only discovered after it was put up that It was 2 feet too short.when I inquired why it was like this he just shrugged his shoulders and said it wasnt his fault . It was finally agreed upon, we would have to take it down and go get the right size. We agree at this time that we would just start fresh tomorrow. After I got back from picking up the correct lumbar [redacted] called me to inform me that he was not going to show up to complete the job.I hope that what I wrote down here helps others avoid the same pitfalls I fell into please be advisedDesired Settlement: I don't think he knows what he is doing. if hes not going to finsh the job I would like to be reimbursed for what I paid out pocket. my lumbar if I cannot use. it just sits outside and becomes unusable. in the amount of $1305.51 for the lumber and for my time to have to spend more time trying to find someone to finish his work.

I was Installing a red wood fence on my residency 28 of April wen he drove by with a woman and gave me compliment on the fence and gave me his business card with his addresses to cam and give him a bid for the deck . after sevrole days I call [redacted] and went to se his Deck I toke mesure of what of the Deck was Portion of Deck was removed aproximetly 19'x9' .After I toke mesument hi asked me wuldyou like to come this Friday 7:00am in roseville on Business Network gathering and I told him yes ..After I came Home he call me and toled me to bring atlist 50 Business cards I only had 35 Cards so I went and orderd 250 business Cards for Fridaymorning, In the meen time hi asked me to do the drowing of the deck and material list so I did. Had that all ready for him Friday morning. I came to his house at 6;30am and I gave him the plans and material list and had new business Cards. We went to the Business meeting together He Introdused me and he gave my Business Card to [redacted] and [redacted] came back and sad that these Business Cards are no Good case has on them HANDYMAN SERVICE on them . Becose they have another Handyman on board . He draped me over his house and I went Home.This is how it happnd 3 days , After 2-3 hours [redacted] called me and told me to make new Business Cards ( Bobby's Deck & Fence Service ) So I did make new Business Cards .He call me after two or three days and asked me how much for labor I told him the price that was with my helper .Than he asked me if he brings me a helper how much will cost I told him so much he sed that was to much . So a told him $25 per hour I felt sorry abauth him cas Hi Is Hendycap,Fhe next Friday Morning I went to Business Network meting gave my new Business Cards to him and thay sad that my Cards have on the back other traid that was no good. Hi asked me to come to his home so I did .Hi poll out the matterial list and asked me what is this I told him that was the list for material He sad that was to mach lumber so we were going over the material and hi did not want post to beam hangers I sead ok when it came to beam that was 18' feet long he sead that is to long bring the Beam to the last post that distance was 15 feet so he put 16 feet 4x6 beam PT . That weekend was memorialday weekend [redacted] cols me wensday morning I was early working in castumer House hi told me that hi will bring help Saturday &Sunday to help me on the Dack at that moment I sead Ok That same day I call [redacted] Told him that this weekend I can come Becous my Family is caming from Los Angeles anf he sead thats [redacted] two times and I told him that was not profeshnal . THIS MAN IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH he Is you know what. after 2 or 3 days hi call and ask me to go to H D to see the material he prchesd , I told him what das he think I am duing service for free and he sead give me your hours when we see again on the morning of jun 10 2015 I purchesd 2x6 PT and liqednail to put on old pears that did not hane that 2x6 on them in the same time [redacted]yer was delivering material and when I was dan I gave him recite from [redacted] in amount of $16.00 and 5 hours that I spend so far so hi did pay me $200,00 its like this 5x25=125+16=141 I sighnd that hand writen paper tat he maid and I ow him $59;00 that will be didakted from another day ..... Friday morning I came with my Tools and track as I was unloding my tools A yong man came intredused him self and told that he will be my helper It did not take long [redacted] calls [redacted] come and help me that went on and of most of the day the beam that he recived from [redacted] was worp and they broth another Beam 6x6x16feet wen Instold the beam [redacted] asked me how come is short I told him remember yyou told me that will go only to the last post that was 16 feet from ferst all in all He had all day additud I did not like and he that I am a SLAV to him then he sad we are going to replace the beam for longer one and that well be for tha day it was a hat day 101 or 103 I worked ^ hours that day and left home Coming home I was talking to my self and cal [redacted] and told him that he had an ADITUD and he sed You Dont have to com to work that was friday night but Monday morning he wrights a letter to B B B abouth me ......I am sorry abouth my speling .

I am rejecting this response because: The fact is that [redacted] walked away from a job he started that he didn’t want to complete to take a different job that would pay him more and left me in a bind without atleast telling me what needed to happen and that alone is not acceptable. I do have witnesses that will attest to all of what I have written here to be true.If [redacted] still insist on not taking accountability for what he has done I will have to take him to court and I will get sworn affidavits from each of my witnesses swearing to these accounts being true. At this point I will have to wait I guess until everything is complete to determine what my financial burden is going to be before we can move forward. I would like to please ask in the future if [redacted] would refrain from insult me by calling me handicapped it is disrespectful.[redacted]

as for [redacted] For his clame of Restitution I DON,T HAVE NOTING TO DO WITH HIM. Work with joe was only by hour not by contract as he claims . On june 10 2015 he gave me $200.00 for services that I did for him ( Idid state that in my first letter . By the way I worked 6 hours on June 11 2015 and he dos not menchening abour paying for that day wech he never did pay . You make your Jujment on that. [redacted]

OI am rejecting this response because:I will make a final chance to give [redacted] the opportunity to do the right thing. I paid the current contractor $25 an hour for three full days to figure out what [redacted] did and his blueprints. I am asking [redacted] to reimburse the $200 I did pay him for work that had to be taken down and $600 for the cost to pay my current contractor to get the project back on track total sum of $800. However I'm a realistic man and I do know how inconvenience and trouble it's going to be for me to have to take him to small claims court and how inconvenient is going to be for my witnesses and contractor to have to testify in a court of law so I will offer this one time offering. if he agree to pay me $600 without any further harassment I will close this case.
