Slumberland Furniture - Baraboo Reviews (3)

On August 22nd we delivered Mr. [redacted]'s items.  Upon delivery one of his arm chairs was damaged and there were parts missing on one of the dining tables.  We took both pieces back in order to exchange for new.  On August 23rd, Mr. [redacted] called and informed us that there were...

a couple of snags in his mattress and his dining table was uneven.  He demanded we replace the mattress next day.  It takes us five days to order this mattress, so I told him we can either issue a credit on the current mattress or I can get him a new one by the end of the week.  He became very verbally abusive over the phone.  We finally agreed to a credit on the mattress of $150, and he would level his dining table as he didn't want us back to his home.  I told him I would contact his as soon as the new chair came in.  He also cancelled the second dining table set.  That day the credit for the dining table and the mattress was accidentally charged instead of refunded.  The following day our accountant caught the mistake and we called Mr. [redacted] to inform him of the mistake and get the refund completed.  He told one of our salespeople that if he came in the store "we wouldn't like what was going to happen."  This caused the staff to become concerned for their safety.  We apologize for the damage done to the merchandise on the first delivery.  It is our goal to have every customer experience an excellent sales, check out and delivery with Slumberland.  In this case, damage occurred with the merchandise that happened before it hit the Baraboo store.  We try our best to solve these issues with speed and ease, but in some cases it does take time to re-order items.  We have since picked up all the merchandise from Mr. [redacted]'s house, and the remainder of his refund was done on his card on August 27th.[redacted]

Review: I purchased a mattress from slumberland 4 years ago that came with a 10 year warranty. The first year I had a pillowtop matress for 3-4 years and it was defective. They replaced with the brand that I now have. The first year I had this matress it had to be replaced because it was defective. They had someone come out from their store to look at the matress and they did say it was defective. I got the repacement matress. That one was also defective. I had to get ahold of corporate office and they sent someone out to look at it and they also said that matress was defective. I got that one replaced and this one is not even a year old and is also defective. Slumberland had me come in to fill out the paperwork for the warranty. They then said that they will not honor the warranty because I sit on the side of my bed to get in and out. I have never rotated the matress until 2 weeks ago and thats when I noticed the springs sticking me in the thigh. I was also told if I could get pictures of the matress showing it was defective . You can not see it you can feel it. They will not replace it with the same kind of mattress they want me to pay them another2-300 dollars to get a better mattress. I explained to them that I could not do that and just want mine replaced and they said they would not honor it.Desired Settlement: I would like a new mattress to replace the one I have that is still under their 10 year warranty.

Ms. [redacted] is experiencing the feeling of the springs on the side of the mattress when she sits on the edge of the bed. The mattress she has is warranted for visible body impressions that measure over and inch and a half. There is nothing visibly wrong with her mattress. In the past we have replaced her mattress as a courtesy, even though there was nothing visibly wrong with the mattress. At this point we feel that Ms. [redacted] is trying to take advantage of the service she has received in the past in trying to again get a new mattress when there is nothing visibly wrong with the mattress. When sitting on the side of the mattress she has, it is understandable that she will feel the edge wire. She purchased an entry level posturepedic and those are made with an edge wire that holds the rest of the coils in place. In understanding this, it makes sense that she will feel this when she places her entire body weight on one section of the edge. If there becomes a visible body impression in the mattress to where we can prove to the manufacturer that there is a defect, we will be happy to cover the mattress under the vendor's warranty. Slumberland does not benefit from the amount of claims made to a mattress manufacturer. We simply help satisfy a claim if it is valid. Therefor, we are held to the standards set by the mattress manufacturer and are made to comply to what they consider as a defective product.

Review: Hello, I would like to inform everyone of the horrible experience that I had with Slumberland furniture in Baraboo, WI. My Wife and I paid $5488.06 for two tables and mattress set on 20 July 2015, with a delivery date of 22 August 2015. First, the delivery truck was an hour and half late past there delivery window. Second, the Intercon dinning chairs we bought fell apart coming off the truck, the delivery crew had to be told we would not except that chair. Now we will have to wait 3 weeks for a new chair. Third, the dining room table we bought cannot be leveled out.

The breakfast table was not complete because the legs were missing. This is not acceptable after waiting a month for delivery. However, with all these issues the most serious is we also bought a $3200 Gold Radiance mattress for my pregnant wife. Slumberland claims the mattress is made to order. Our mattress came with two tears (runs) in it that exposed the foam of the mattress. The store’s manager, [redacted], gave the company sales pitch, which consisted of requiring photos, questioning the customer, then a week long wait for a new mattress, then refused to deliver the new matters when we would be home. Instead she told us to have someone at our home to receive the mattress. After all this, she issued a $150 dollar refund on the mattress, which is an insult after we paid $160 for the mattress protector for the extended warranty. [redacted] informed us that the mattress protector cover would cover the tears and it should be ok. This again is not acceptable with a new product.

After all this, on Sunday the 23 of August, I was ensured that I would have a refund of $585.47, Instead Slumberland charged my C.C $588.27. This mistake was noticed immediately by me the customer. We called and confronted Slumberland ([redacted]) informed us that she would personally get the refund issued. I informed the store manager and cooperate headquarters in MN that this is not how you treat a customer and his pregnant wife, and that I am a [redacted]. After then receiving attitude from the lady on the phone, I promised to inform the [redacted]/ and [redacted]. Then on the morning on 26 August, the [redacted] County sheriff’s office called to question me about threatening the Slumberland employees at their Baraboo, Wisconsin store. I was still at home with my security system to prove that it was not me who threaded anyone. On the 27th I contacted the sheriffs and was informed that Slumberland wrongly accused me. So I called a lawyer and demanded to return all the furniture to Slumberland, they agreed and picked up all the furniture on 28 Aug. we still have not received a refund as of 7 Sep.

Slumberland furniture lies and conducts fraudulent business practices.Desired Settlement: Full refund.
