agreement before the roof was replaced, the homeowner was to wire electrical components of the power vent. It was done this Summer. Smart Builders had no way of knowing the unit was defective till it became fully operational just recently.The homeowner completely agreed this is Menards warranty issue and in no way is a Smart Builders fault. The vent is scheduled to be replaced in mid August when the homeowner returns from vacation. Smart Builders is currently in warranty claim process with Menards.

called Issac Aug 9 at 3:44 to say now would be a good time since it was raining. He got here about 7:00 and although it wasn't raining it was still leaking in one spot. He was not willing to consider replacement. He asked me if it would be okay if they tried to cut a portion of the damaged flashing off and then shove a section of new flashing on top. Maybe calk it and see what happens. I said no. I asked him to put it in writing and said that I will persue my options. He came out on Aug 10, 2017 around 7:00 pm with a gutter contractor. They looked at and said that they can not figure out how to solve the problem. They said that they will bring more people to work on it.The only correct way would be to completly replace the roof and gutters. I will wait to see what they suggest next.
