Smart Builders

This is the second year in a row I have worked with Smart Builders. The roof, windows and downspouts were replaced in the fall of 2018 and 2019 due to separate hail storms. I worked with Josh F and would recommend both he and Smart Builders to complete any construction project. Josh was extremely professional and provided significant guidance and counsel when it came to working with my insurance company. Smart Builders showed up when promised, completed the work in a timely fashion and used professional and talented sub-contractors to restore my home. During our 2018 repair, I noticed a crack in the driveway from the truck that delivered our shingles. Josh and I easily arrived at a satisfactory arrangement for repair without difficulty. I highly recommend Josh and his team at Smart Builders. Josh is a man of character and integrity. He deals honestly with all parties involved in the repair. Should I need a contractor in the future, my first call will be to Josh F at Smart Builders.

New roof, Gutter ***, downspouts, skylights, outside painting, and indoor ceilings are all finished now, thanks to Preston and Smart Builders. The whole process was completed in about a month and Preston kept me well informed with calls and photos throughout the process. I would highly recommend Smart Builders for any new work that comes up at my home.

Smart Builders did a great job dealing with a full roof replacement. I worked with Nick throughout the process. He worked professionally with the insurance company and showed a lot of expertise as I asked many questions. He was so good, even the insurance adjuster was praising working with him. In a busy summer for them, they still managed to get the job done while never compromising quality. The roof looks great!

Post-install Nick came to inspect that the job was done right. As we walked around, I pointed out two very small problems (broken bird house from falling debris and a slightly crooked weather vane on the roof). It was painless to work with Nick to get those two tiny issues resolved. They really went above and beyond to resolve both issues. These things can happen, and it was a relief that they stand behind their work and work quickly to resolve even the smallest matters. Nick was great to work with. I would confidently recommend Smart Builders and Nick to others.

Our sales manager from Smart Builders, Nik *** made the entire process easy and quick. He dealt with the insurance company in a successful, professional manner. We were very pleased with the product and work done and highly recommend their services.

Nick Kifyak with Smart Builders did an excellent job of managing our house roof replacement late last year. He was extremely tenacious in working with our insurance company to make sure they properly paid for the work that was the result of hail damage. Nick also pursued and coordinated some window replacements that were also storm-damaged. The crews were skilled, efficient and did an excellent clean-up job. Nick followed up immediately after the work was complete to make sure we were completely satisfied.

We had a great experience with Smart Builders. Their work was very high quality and our roof looks great. They also helped with some painting and all new gutters. Every part of the project was well managed and well coordinated. They did the work quickly and did a great job cleaning up loose nails, etc. I especially appreciate everything that they did to help work with our insurance company, both in terms of getting the most $ possible for our project and all the paperwork involved in submitting the insurance claim. I would recommend Smart Builders without hesitation, they were very pleasant, easy to work with and always professional.

I worked with Smartbuilder for new shingle and roof with Nick(Nikolai). He was great to work with, the job was done very fast and effecient and were able to work with insurance company to get it all approved and covered. If Mother nature strikes again, I will be glad to work Smart Builders again.

When I hired Smart Builders to replace our shingles and gutters I was very specific. I wanted the gutters removed and a drip edge installed prior to the new shingles and ice barrier. When this wasn’t done I contacted Russ at Smart Builders and expressed my displeasure and said that I wanted to skip the new gutters at that time. I didn’t want the gutters installed now because it would mean prying up the gutters, cutting off the front and pounding the back part down. This causes the metal under the ice barrier to lift along with the ice barrier and shingles. They are then separated/lifted from the roof deck which allows water to get in. Several weeks later I came home to find a sub contractor hired be Smart Builders replacing the gutters. I contacted Russ and met with him and his boss Viktar. They both insisted that that it wouldn’t be a problem. I started having problems with leaking the next year. I called and they made an attempt to reseal them. The leaking continues. I called them back in May and again on 6/30/2017 and have not gotten a response.

Our house was only 10 years old but the builder used substandard shingles and they deteriorated over time. Roman of Smart Builders worked with me, were very competitive, and worked around my schedule. The crew took only 1 day to strip off everything, apply everything new, and completely clean up the debris. The next day know one would have known they had just been here. Better yet, three different people with the company afterwards stopped by to inspect everything done on our roof. I have nothing but positive to say about Smart Builders and wouldn't hesitate working with them again.
