While in for service,I was told the rear sway bar links were bad on my 2006 Toyota Rav 4 and that the repair would be $400+. I was charged $279 ( not including $125 labour )for two simple links when the highest price I could find on-line was $50 for the parts,PER PAIR. This price is gouging, plain and simple.
This is usurious and this is not a business to be trusted. We will never deal with them again let alone, buy another vehicle from them--take your business elsewhere.

Review: I purchased a Toyota FJ Cruser from Smart Motors on March 3rd, 2014 with a 6 months / 6000 miles warranty thru Mr. [redacted]. Shortly after my purchase on March 10th I called the store asking for Mr. [redacted] and was informed he would call me back I received no call back. I attemted this for several times and finally got an employee to answer and was tranfered to Mr. [redacted]. I inforemed him of a noice in what I thought was the rear of the vehicle. I then brought the vehicle in asking him to check the sound coming from the vehicle. After a short inspection I was told that nothing was wrong with the vehicle.

Two weeks later I called once again since the noice was still present and louder. The vehicle was inspected once again and I was informed that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. This went on for several other visits. During my visits I received no support or customer service of any kind from the dealership's personnel. I once again took my vehicle in for the same noice and problem on May 29th, 2014 during this visit I was approached by Mr. [redacted] and before I could say a word he said the following " That vehicle has no warranty you opted out of it". I informed him he was incorrect and asked him to check my sales file and verify the warranty purchased. After waiting for over 25min Mr. [redacted] returned to inform me that the vehicle did have a warranty but it was out side of the warranty due to it being over by 1000 miles. I informed him that the sound and problem I had visited once again was the same one that was identified two weeks after the purchase and in all the visits their after. I was sent over to the main service center at the Toyota dealer. Once at the Toyota dealer I was informed by the technitian there that it would be from $50 - $150 to conduct an inspection on the vehicle. I asked the serivice technitian to call Mr. [redacted] to authorize the inspection since it was a problem from prior to the warranty expiration. Mr. [redacted] refused to honor the warranty at this point.

I resorted to taking my vehicle to a seperate service center (MIDAS) to inspect the vehicle for the noice comming from the vehicle. It was identified as being a breaksystem problem. The service center MIDAS gave me an estimate for a failed front break calaper, front disk breaks, and seased rear breaks. A value of over $1300 that I was unaware of since Smart Motors Personnel insisted that nothing was wrong with the vehicle since I purchased it and in every visit their after.

I would like for: 1. Smart Motor to one honor their warranty and provide a proper customer service experience, 2. Correct the mechanical problem with the break system in my vehicle front and back.

The lack of customer service has been a very stressfull and depressing expereinse.
