next Saturday 3/**/15.

Review: We moved into our new home on June **, 2014. The movers broke an expensive wood teak bar and a medium sized wood book case. The [redacted], [redacted] took the two pieces back and promised to have it repaired and delivered to our new home. To date, the furniture has not been delivered to our home.

We called the moving company many, many times and sent a certified letter dated, November **, 2014. The phone calls and letter have been ignored. The people that have answered the phone, [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] have all refused to provide their last names.

We have attempted to resolve this matter amicably but have not been successful.Desired Settlement: Repair and deliver the wood teak bar and the wood book case or provide full monetary compensation of $2, 000.00.

Review: We hired the movers in aug to move a one bedroom apt plus storage area. The movers damaged walls and furniture, and did not move the small storage area. I have sent emails and pictures and have received no response. I have called, left a message and did not receive a call back. It has been over a month, I have tried to contact them at least 4 times, for services not rendered.Desired Settlement: I want my contract honored. They need to move the storage area that was discussed and Paid for. Also, pay for my walls that I had to have repainted.

Sincerely,

Review: I contracted with Smart Move to deliver personal property on June **, **13 that was stored for one and a half years at Smart Move’s storage facility in Yonkers, NY. On the delivery date, one of my large area rugs was missing from the load (I had several rugs that had been stored with them – they were individually rolled up and numbered). Smart Move was aware on the actual move date (June **) that one of my rugs was missing. I provided them with a picture and dimensions of the rug and its value and made several phone calls asking for information - none of those calls were returned. I began writing to Smart Move—and made 9 written complaints in total—beginning on July *, specifically asking for a resolution, and received a written reply from Smart Move's manager, [redacted], that they had been busy and would “try to resolve ASAP.” After hearing nothing, I wrote again on July **, July **, and August *, and finally received a response from Mr. [redacted] on August 9 asking for the name of the manufacturer of the rug, which I supplied to him that day. I also reminded him of the rug's value and told him that I had the original receipt, including the description of the rug, from when it was purchased in [redacted]. I didn't hear anything from Smart Move and wrote again on August ** asking for a response and heard nothing again. On September * I wrote saying I was giving Smart Move one last try before filing a complaint. I received a response from Mr. [redacted] on September 9 that Smart Move wanted more time to investigate. I responded that same day asking how much time he was asking for. On September **, Mr. [redacted] responded that I was "putting him in a difficult situation," said he hadn't known the value of the rug (which wasn't true), said I had gone to the unit to remove things during the storage period (I have never set foot in their storage unit), and that he was still searching for the rug. I replied by saying that I was the one in a difficult situation reminding him of the facts: that I had paid Smart Move in full, that Smart Move knew the value of the rug from Day 1, and that I had not set foot in their storage unit at any time, let alone to remove anything. I also told him that in the course of unpacking, we discovered that 2 large copper hose pots are also missing which I would like to have replaced: they are still available for purchase (at Frontgate at $2*9 each). I advised Smart Move, through Mr. [redacted], that I would give them until September 24 to reach a resolution on the missing items, with the rug being of primary importance; otherwise I would be forced to file a complaint. I have not heard anything from Smart Move in response. They have not made any attempt to resolve this issue and have been completely negligent in their communication.Desired Settlement: Smart Move has acknowledged their responsibility in word, they just haven't followed through in deed. My feeling is they just hope I will grow weary and drop the matter, but I'm not going to do that. They should reimburse the value of the rug (it is conservatively estimated at $10,000 - an identical replacement won’t be possible) and replace the 2 copper pots, (they are identically replaceable through Frontgate).
