Smartbox

Review: I rented a portable storage building that was placed in my yard in 2006 in which Smartbox was doing a monthly withdrawal payment from my bank through my debit card. They discontinued the withdrawals, making the last withdrawal on November 9, 2009. I attempted to contact Smartbox numerous times to find out why they did not withdraw the payment for December 2009 but someone answered the phone stating that she was just answering the phone and something was going on with the company and she didn't know what to tell me. I also told her that I needed smartbox to pick up their storage unit but to no avail. I received some information via mail stating that Smartbox filed bankruptcy. The unit is still in my yard because I can not get anyone to pick it up. I recently received a call from someone named Maloney at Smartbox advising me that I owe them $3,000 plus and I advised her that they stopped withdrawing the payments from my account and I also advised her that I attempted to contact them to pick up their unit but to no avail. I told her that they are the one that filed bankruptcy and did not pick up their storage unit. She told me that they would pick it up. Well that still hasn't happened. I received an invoice via email on July 28, 2013 stating that I owe them $$3,629.78 and the invoice is from July 28 - August 27, 2013 for a payment of $69.60. They filed bankruptcy and were unreachable for several years. How can they continue to charge someone for a unit when they unreachable and have continually been told to pick it up and they haven't.Desired Settlement: I desire them to pick up their storage unit, close this case and stop trying to make me pay for something that I don't owe and have not needed for several years.
