Thank you for bringing this patient complaint to our attention and we appreciate the opportunity to respondThe patient presented our team with insurance information at her initial appointment that led us to believe we would be allowed to bill her insurance for her visitWe later discovered that
due to certain regulatory requirements, her insurance was not allowed for physician practice visits in Maryland and a preauthorization would have been required for this visitWe notified her and advised that she would be placed on self-pay and prior to any additional service would be required to settle her outstanding balanceWe are adjusting said outstanding balance to zero and she will have no further financial responsibility to Smart Pain ManagementThank you for bringing this issue to our attentionRespectfully, James P*** Vice President of Compliance and Procurement Smart Pain Management ###-###-####
