Every new patient establishing care at a dental office typically gets a FMX unless the patient brought recent ones from a prior yearThis is standard practice and insurances cover it once every 3-yearsIf X-rays beyond what is captured in the FMX are needed by a specialist for oreocedures such as implant placement, wisdom teeth extractions, etc there are additional diagnostic type of X-rays that might be needed using special equipment such as panoramic machine or cone beamAt a general dentist, cone beams X-rays or panoramic X-rays are not standard practice, FMX isHowever insurances only cover either FMX or Panoramic X-rays even if taken at the same dentist

Hello, the complaint is inaccurate and unfair.- At Nicole's latest visit, we re-iterated that she should get her wisdom teeth extracted and that we would refer her to a specialist oral surgeon due to the complexity of her wisdom teethWe did that and gave her a referralThat was on 04/24/On
04/25/she called to remind us that the xrays weren't sent to the oral surgeon and we assured her that we will take care of this shortlyWe sent the xrays to the oral surgeon Dr ***'s office on 04/26/at 1:19pm via their online submission platform.- On 05/06/2017, she went to the oral surgeon and their office called ours stating they never received the xrays so we proceeded to resend them again this time via email as their front desk explicitly requestedLater we found out from Rosy (Dr ***'s patient coordinator) that the xray attachment feature of their site where we upload xrays does not work nor does it give any indication that something went wrongEither way on 05/06/we sent the xrays once againNicole called minutes later upset stating that they were "not the right type of xrays"We took a Full Mouth X-ray series known as FMX which is the standard protocol at every dental office in America during a new patient's first visit (unless the patient brings recent FMX with them)FMX is a covered procedure by insurance and it is the very first step that every dentist takes as they are needed to diagnose issues like cavities, bone height, tumors, etc.. - From the FMX we were able to advise Nicole that she should get her wisdom teeth extracted by a specialistSo the xrays called FMX we took were the absolute appropriate set of xrays that a general dentist needsHowever, FMX does NOT show enough detail of the nerves and sinuses so an oral surgeon who is looking to do surgery needs that detail that a panoramic xray provides which the oral surgeon proceeded to doNicole was advised by their front desk staff that it will likely not get covered by insurance as insurance only covers either FMX or a PanoIn her case, FMX was done as part of regular checkup and then Pano was needed for the extractionThere is absolutely nothing wrong with this protocol nor is there any other wayIf Nicole or any other patient goes to a general dentist and then proceeds with surgical extractions, the patient would first need FMX and then pano but insurance only pays for Since her FMX was done at our office within the years, her insurance would likely not cover the pano xray that was taken at the Oral Surgeon's office

Hello,We have reviewed the complaint and have also discussed this issue verbally with Andrew in the past. VIP Dental Lounge has never had an in-house payment plan. The only payment plan we have is called Care Credit which is what he was offered. Unfortunately, he applied for it and was denied....

CareCredit is a 3rd party credit company that specialized in health care. They have a very low bar for credit but unfortunately, Andrew was declined.Andrew has very poor credit and no credit cards. We also do NOT accept checks in our office and we have had that policy from day one. However, we do accept cash and we have never rejected cash. We did speak with Andrew about it prior to his complaint and during our talk, he was very cordial and did state that he may have misheard or misunderstood something about a payment plan. As the owner, I can confidently state that we have NEVER offered an in house payment plan because we have no ability in our software system to set something up like that. We have had the same employee at the front desk since the day we started and this is something that has been discussed in our office and we have always said that since we don't have the systems to setup a payment plan in house, the best we can do is let patients apply for CareCredit. However, when Andrew started his treatment, he was on his wife's insurance plan I believe but unfortunately, his wife went through a job loss. At this time, his balance is over $2,000. We have emailed and called Andrew multiple times to offer a settlement but he has not picked up or called back. Unfortunately, his desired settlement is to collect the dentures and pay later via a payment plan that we don't offer. We cannot do that as we have no confidence that payments will be made once the dentures are delivered. We have no recourse either since he has no/poor credit. If there is anything Andrew was offered like an in-house payment plan, we would like to see it and we will honor it. However, with utmost confidence, we can state that we don't believe any such plan can be offered because no such plan exists in our office. At this time, the best we can do for him is split the payment into 2 installments and give him a hefty break of $400+ to bring his total to $1,600 and split that into 2 equal $800 payments. However, we cannot deliver the dentures until the payments are made.Thank you, -Dr Lyuda [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: none of this was explained to me in the dentists office. I already had X-rays on file that were barely a year old. They made me take a new set for seemingly no reason other than getting paid for it. They never followed up with me regarding my wisdom teeth when I took my first sets. They used to have multiple doctors and a very capable receptionist. Now they have one dr and someone who is never around to answer the phone. Not the mention the owner has been harassing me and my oral surgeon. He has posted my personal medical info on fb using his personal account because he is upset at the negative reviews he deserves. He is combative and unprofessional.
Sincerely,
Nicole [redacted]
