matter where you understood my explanation to the laser code. [redacted] is a code that we use to bill for Laser Treatment. It is a treatment that we strongly recommend. Dental lasers help us treat conditions in the mouth using light energy. The laser is very selective, penetrating to a specific depth in the particular kind of tissue we want to treat. The tissue absorbs the laser light, which agitates the molecules of the tissue, causing the tissue cells to gently break apart. This very precisely treats only the desired area, while leaving healthy gums, bone, and tooth structure untouched.Uses of dental lasers:There are different kinds of dental lasers, and we use them to treat different kinds of oral tissues. We can use lasers on soft tissues like gums, and on hard tissues, like teeth and bone.We may use lasers on soft tissues to reshape healthy gum tissues or remove diseased gums, decontaminate gum pockets that are infected with periodontal disease, and treat some sores in the mouth. We can also use lasers on hard tissues to remove tooth decay and prepare teeth for sealants, bonding, fillings, and other restorations, perform root canal therapy, reshape bone, and treat sensitive teeth. I hope that you can see the benefits of using laser and understand that it is not a made up code or procedure as you suggested above. Furthermore I would like to inform you that a letter was sent to your home advising we are no longer in network, I know many people get a lot of spam and it might have been something you overlooked. I am sorry about not mentioning it to you again when you came in to see us in March. We absolutely should have made you aware once more. I hope that I was able to give you some information that you find useful to your complaint. I would also like to extend you an offer to try us again. I am willing to offer you a free cleaning to include exam, x-rays and laser treatment. Feel free to call me directly at ###-###-#### to schedule. I really do hope that you will give us another chance.
Thank you,

I feel that this business is skirting the issue of being unethical. Their response has nothing to do with the fact that they knowingly charged me for a service I was unaware that I would be paying extra for while sitting in the patient chair. Their made up insurance code and lack of communication regarding an extra cost procedure for patients that are not in-network are both unethical and bad business. I would not recommend anyone go to them due to the fact that this company does not communicate what fees people will be paying prior to the procedure. Shame on Smile AZ Dentistry.
