After numerous attempts to get my arches fixed to look like what I paid for Golpa's lab will not and have not been able to get it done.
Transaction date was 3/2019 in the amount of 36,500. We financed it and paid 5,000 on a credit card on 03/07/2019 as a downpayment to schedule/hold the spot. I don't recall the exact day in March but it was around mid month. I also attached emails exchanges and photos.
I talked to Ashley who was the office manager and she setup my surgery date. I started to have problems in July 2019. I noticed a scratch/discolor on my upper right front tooth. I sent an email to Ashley on Aug 1, 2019 with photo's and she got me in to fix it. The lab tried to fix the scratch/discolor but it came back 09/10/2019. It was decided I needed to have a new set made. 10/01/2019, the day of or day after I got my 2nd set I sent emails to Ashley expressing my concern at how drastically different the 2nd set looked from the original set I picked out and paid for. We exchanged emails regarding this set and then I got the 3rd set made. I sent an email to Carlos on 10/25/2019 after I received the 3rd set due to them being just like the 2nd set. To big and bulky. They were not anything like the ones I originally picked out and paid for.
Between 10/31/2019-11/5/2019 Ashely and I emailed about getting a new set made to try and match what I originally paid for plus it needed to fit better in my mouth. I couldn't talk or move my mouth with the set I had because it was to big and bulky. I finally got a new set and they were fine. However, I ended up with the scratch/flaw on a front tooth again. I was told that the material they were using to make those arches was flawed. It scratched and they broke easier. Golpa went back to their original material that was more durable. That was a plus.
I got my last set of arches. All was well except I needed some adjustments on the lower arch. I sent an email expressing that to Ashley and Carlos. I said I didn't want new arches. I felt, after the adjustments I'd be good to go. I planned on doing that in May since I'd have a cleaning at that time but the thickness with the plate on the back of my lower arch kept scratching my tongue and made my speech off. I decided to schedule an appt for Golpa's sooner. I got an appt for 02/13/2020. All I wanted them to do was shorten my lower teeth a tad bit, remove the heavy grooves, and thin out the thick plate on the backside of my lower arch. That was it. I attached all the photo's of what they ended up like. The lab shortened my teeth from the bottom up. What that did was left the length to long above my gum line. My top teeth still don't show hardly at all. I paid for an upper lip lift after my dental implants and now that was a waste of 3700 dollars too. After this last revision/set my upper teeth don't show at all and my lower teeth sit up way to high. They look uneven, short, thin, and as one dental assistant from another dentist office told me- They look like chicklet teeth. I wanted to cry right there.
I am so embarrassed right now, after the way I was treated on Monday 02/17/2020, I don't even want to go back to Golpa's office. My husband and I were treated pretty bad on Monday 02/17/2020 when we went in to see about fixing the mess their lab made on my lower arch. We weren't called and told that Golpa was the only person who would deal with me now so we need to reschedule. We were very embarrassed by that. I have been, in my opinion, retaliated against by the lab doing rushed, crappy repairs on my arches because I complained about them. After I spent $36500 I feel I have a right to expect a professional top notch job on my arches. That is what they advertise and that is what I expected.
Two weeks ago Golpa turned me down when I offered to pay them for a new set. After the way I have been treated this past week I don't trust Golpa to do the job I paid them for. I have to spend an additional $18,000 to get my arches done right at another dentist office.
the set I have now stain, fit wrong, uneven, small, chiclet look and other defects.

Desired Outcome

The only resolution I will accept now is a refund of the cost to me for new arches, gas and time. New arches- $18,000.00 Gas and Time- $250.00 Total- $18,250.00

I accept the response to solve the issue. I will send proof of my cost for a new set of bridges to your office this morning via email.

Thank you

After the check clears G4 by Golpa cant remember your name. WARNING: dont trust them.

Last min change increase final price by $6000.00 5 min before surgery.Stated they would reimburse for round trip & expenses.then denied my $760 claim
Had surgery scheduled last appt of 2018. 20/Dec Arranged price of $29500.00 complete all on 4. flew round trip and prices were fine up until they were prepping my arm for sedation. Then Dr stated there would be a $6000.00 increase to do all on 6 with no other explanation at all. When I asked to speak again to the dr I was told he was too busy I could not do that as on fixed income and they knew that for a whole month prior to surgery date. Imaging software did not support all on 6 (Not enough space)Per another Dentist with placement software guide.unless they were drilling into my sinuses Was told they would reimburse my trip and expenses which totaled $760.00 Now they are telling me three months later they denied them. This was total fraud. Another dentist explained to us that they were attempting to inflate the costs to me the patient. I would not have incurred the cost or even scheduled this to waste the costs involved for bait n switch tactics. Now they deny my expenses three months later. Could never trust them and they should have md license revoked.

Desired Outcome

Refund of my incurred expenses of $760.00 because of their failed to perform procedure as agreed prior to scheduling. Then bait and switch adding 6000.00 to the cost right before sticking the needle in my arm when I questioned it they refused to explain anything. Thus everything stopped Then was told would be reimbursed for trip and expenses.

We clearly state that there may be additional charges due to circumstances that we would not be aware of prior to a through examination of medical history, CT scans, and consultation. We do not make a diagnosis prior to examining the patient.
Once we informed the patient of additional charges that were necessary to perform a successful surgery, patient became belligerent to staff and the Doctors, and walked out of the office.
We do not bring Patients into the operating room before all consents are signed and payment has been made. There is a deposit to reserve surgery date, and that deposit was refunded to the patient in full.
Additionally, we will be refunding patients travel expenses, simply as an act of good-will. When patients cancel surgeries it also costs us a great deal of wasted time and money.

Thank you for reply and that you WILL refund my expenses ($760) as agreed. Yet still denied my claim when I submitted it to you.
However, I still stand by my prior statements.
thank you

Shoddy work. Inferior and defective materials used. Numerous attempts to resolve.
On June 22, 2017, this office extracted all of my remaining teeth, put in 2 bone grafts and inserted upper & lower bridges (an all-on-4 procedure). I paid a total of $37,000 (which I had to borrow!)
Because of material & dentist failures, I went back in early August to have the problems fixed. I was biting my cheeks and there were numerous jagged edges & holes in the bridges.
From June through November, me bridges looked good, felt natural, and allowed me to eat many foods. However, one implant on the top right had not adhered sufficiently so I could not eat on my right side.
While I was eating a piece of rye bread at the end of November 2017, 3 of my top front teeth cracked away from the bridge, leaving a gaping hole.
I went back to the office in early Dec. They supposedly fixed the implant that had not set correctly, and inserted 2 new bridges made from different materials.
The new bridges discolored from spaghetti sauce and espresso, I was constantly biting my cheeks & upper lip, and the top one was getting very loose.
I called the office. They wanted me to fly back & have them resolve my problems. I told them that, after 3 visits with such horrible outcomes, I could not trust them and requested a refund.
On January 7, 2018, my top bridge fell out completely. I was forced to go to a local dentist to have it screwed back into my upper gum. From a CAT scan, the dentist found that the upper faulty implant needed to be removed: Dr. *** had not adequately replaced it in December.
I called Berlinda numerous times in December & January to explain my situation and ask for a refund: she kept saying that she had spoken with Dr. *** but no decision was reached.
In February, I also emailed the entire office (through their portal) explaining my situation and requesting a fair & equitable resolution.
Only after that email did Carlos call me on February 9, 2018. We discussed the matter & decided that if they refunded one half of what I had paid, that would be a just outcome. He promised to talk with Dr. *** and call me on Monday, Feb 12.
On Feb. 13, I emailed the entire office again asking about the outcome. Carlos emailed and said that Dr. *** was in *** and could not be contacted. But he had spoken with the doctor and had gotten 'preliminary approval' to my getting a refund of half of what I had paid.
As of today (February 20, 2018), no word & no refund.
My top bridge is so loose that I am forced to eat only soft foods in the fear that it might fall out again. Both bridges have become discolored from drinking espresso & tea, and I keep biting my cheeks and top lip (I wake up with blood encrusted on my lips because I've bitten my cheeks so badly).
All I ask is an equitable resolution. Since I do have the implants, I feel that asking for $18,500 (half of what I paid) is fair to both parties.

Desired Outcome

Equitable resolution for both parties: payment to me by Smile Designs by Golpa of half of what I have paid: $18,500.

RE: case # ***
Only after you notified this business, did they reluctantly send me a check in the amount of $18,500.00 (the amount that I had requested). I received it via *** on February 28, 2018.
It was not guaranteed funds, so I had to wait 3-4 business days before I found out that it was good. By the way, it was NOT drawn on any account associated with 'Smile Designs by Golpa'. Instead, the check came from '***' which, according to my research, is out of business!!!
They had me sign a "Release" before they even considered any action.
However, they finally came through, thanks to you, and all parties seem to be satisfied.
Thank you for your intervention!!!
