Review: I had just moved to Phoenix and I was looking for a new dentist. I saw on T.V. an ad for new clients you could get x-rays and a cleaning for $15. When I got there and the exam and x-rays were done and the dentist found nothing of concern he tells me I need a deep cleaning since it was 8 months since my last cleaning. I'm a person who keeps their teeth in great shape. I floss and brush twice everyday. Now the visit was going to cost me $140.00. My first thought was to get up and leave, but then I thought he's the dentist maybe there is a problem. When I got to the hygienist she spent all of 15 minutes deep cleaning my teeth. I didn't even feel anything. I've had a "deep cleaning" on my teeth long ago and it entails numbing the area. The work is done in sections and can take up to 6 visits. She spent 15 minutes on me and said to come back next week to polish them, why???? I said you didn't do anything close to deep cleaning. The response was from all, the doctor said so, we do what he says. I've had hundreds of cleanings for over 50 years and they last longer then 15 minutes and they hurt sometimes. I say 15 minutes loosely because her daughter kept interrupting the cleaning. My bill was $126.00 and when I come back to add insult to injury I could pay them another $14 to polish. I'm retired on a fixed budget and this has cost me so many problems now. I thought I would be getting a break on my first visit and continuing to come on a regular basis here, not get cheated. I also feel that in a place of business moral issues should not be posted on the ceiling of dental assistants. As you lay back in the chair on the ceiling are pictures of children and babies with the words "Make the right choice". Not the right place for that.Desired Settlement: I would like all the money back but $15.00 which was the original advertised price. I didn't get what I paid for.
