Patient received flyer in the mail for new patient special and scheduled appointment. He came in and our team completed an exam, x-rays and cleaning. Upon examination, we identified the patient required a few fillings. We presented the cost for this treatment as well as our in-house membership plan which would provide an additional discount to treatments. Patient signed up for both the treatment plan and our membership plan. Our dentist completed the fillings and his treatment. Patient did not pay total cost of treatment same day but elected for a monthly payment plan. A missed payment led to us sending the patient a bill for the balance. He called and was upset for receiving the bill and requested a refund for membership plan. As requested by patient, we refunded his membership plan and adjusted the total balance based on his initial new patient special and full treatment cost without discount. The difference owed was $25 and we proceeded to mail him a check with the difference. Complete transparency in prices and his account was disclosed to patient. We are happy to present associated documents to mediator as requested. We value our patients time but also that of our employees and dentist who spent time and effort in addressing his dental health and transparently explained each step of the process.
