We needed to have a water heater replaced-Walt worked several hours replacing
valves and pipes that were not functional, causing the heater to run constantly-the water scalding! One was installed after we moved to this home about years ago-think it was Lowe's who installed it-worker used the same connections as the original-our mistake in not getting a plumberWalt is very knowledgeable, polite and cleaned up afterwardsWe would recommend him for plumbing problemsMany elders don't realize how high prices are for services these daysAnd sure it does cause some problems with customersOur price was more than we expected, but knowing that the heater could blow up any time, we think it was a fair priceYou can't put a price on your life!

Wolf came in to repair a toilet which evidently needed the flushing components replaced for a charge of $with a $coupon from advertising He also drained a year old hot water heater by hooking a hose to it & draining it for a while, at a charge of $less a discount of $ Unfortunately, my wife signed the repair & paid in full by credit cardI called the next morning & asked for a partial refund due to the unreasonable & unfair pricing, but Wolf claimed it was within industry standards & had already given us a discount

Service provided was a Sunday water leak Response was prompt after the phone call to Smiley Plumbing The owner, Walt, was up front about not knowing exactly where the water leak might be Walt, offer me two options, one to let him start digging for the leak or call in a locator with advance equipment for definite location Chose the second options which happened the following day Not one but two leaks were found by the locator Walt spent the next day repairing the leaks Giving me options on how to or not to proceed He also arranged for a company to come out on that Sunday to start the restoration Walt, help me in many directions since this was my first experience at a water leakI would definitely recommend Smiley Plumbing for the skills, promptness, friendly, compassion and excellent clean up of the job

[redacted] (Smiley Plumbing) in his response is offering to apply the $79.00 to fix a problem, which is no longer a problem. So the solution is not applicable to us.
The reason we called him to return was because the toilet ran for six (6) days after his first visit. Assuming he did something that caused it to run, because it wasn't running continuously before he came to fix the original problem-to replace bolts and gaskets that were leaking. When he arrive the second time, he never looked at the toilet, he told my wife what the problem was and accused me (as I wasn't there at the time, arriving 5 minutes later) of not agreeing to fix the problem. If he knew what the problem was, why didn't he say it over the phone; only to come in person and tell us what he could have told us over the phone and spare us the grief and a $79.00 charge.Bottom line: the toilet is no longer running (overflowing). [redacted] didn't need to come but came anyway because he knew what he was going to say.We want our $79.00 returned. If you go to '[redacted]', you will find similar complaints from Smiley customers-we are not alone.

SELECTING A PLUMBER WHEN THE NEED IS GREAT CAN BE A WORRISOME THING. I WAS LUCKY. I CHOSE SMILEY PLUMBING OUT OF THE PHONE BOOK. THEY CAME RIGHT OUT, DID A LOT OF WORK., EXPLAINED EVERY STEP TO MY SATISFACTION AND EVEN CHECKED OUT SOME OTHER PLUMBING CONCERNS WITHOUT EXTRA CHARGE. A LITTLE OVER A YEAR LATER, I CALLED THINKING THERE WAS A PROBLEM RELATED TO THE ORIGINAL CALL. THEY SAID ANY WARRANTY WOULD HAVE EXPIRED BUT THEN SAID THEY WOULD COME OUT TO CHECK IT. THEY DID COME, FOUND A PROBLEM, FIXED IT AND THERE WAS NO CHARGE. AND BOTH THE PLUMBER AND THE RECEPTIONIST WERE COURTEOUS AND PROMPT TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION.
MY HEARTIEST APPROVAL FOR SMILEY PLUMBING.

HAVING READ THEIR TWO-PAGE AD IN THE SUN CITY PHONE DIRECTORY, WE CALLED SMILEY. THE RECEPTIONIST SAID THERE
WOULD BE $49 ASSESSMENT CHARGE WHETHER WORK WAS DONE OR NOT. WALT (OWNER) ARRIVED AND ASSESSED THE PROBLEM (LEAK
UNDER KITCHEN SINK) AND STARTED THROWING $$$$ NUMBERS AT ME. I USED TO REMODEL HOMES AND I SUSPECTED THIS GUY WAS WAY OUT OF LINE WITH HIS QUOTES. WHEN I CHALLENGED HIM HE BECAME ENRAGED. WITH MY WIFE IN THE ROOM HE RANTED ABOUT "OLD PEOPLE THINK EVERYTHING IS FREE" WITH A LOT OF "F-BOMBS" THROWN IN FOR GOOD MEASURE. HE WANTED TO CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL $15O FOR WHAT I DON'T KNOW - HE NEVER ACTUALLY FIXED ANYTHING. IN FACT, WHEN OUR REGULAR PLUMBER CAME HE COULDN'T EVEN FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS GUY TRIED TO DO! I CHALLENGED SMILEY AGAIN, POINTING OUT HIS $49 ASSESSMENT FEE AND THAT IT WAS WRONG TO CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL $150 FOR WORK HE NEVER SUCCESSFULLY DID. WITH THAT HE BECAME VERBALLY ABUSIVE, STORMED OUT OF THE HOUSE TO GET HIS PAYPAL AND CHARGED US THE $49 TELLING ME NEVER TO CALL THEM AGAIN. NOW, WE HAD OUR REGULAR PLUMBER TO THE HOUSE AS I SAID. HE TOLD US TO GET A NEW FAUCET. HE'LL INSTALL IT FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE AND NEVER CHARGED US FOR THE INITIAL VISIT AT ALL. WHAT IS EQUALLY DISTURBING IS YOU (Revdex.com) SAY HE IS NOT CERTIFIED WITH Revdex.com, YET IF YOU LOOK AT HIS AD HE CLEARLY DISPLAYS YOU AS Revdex.com A+ RATING WITH A LOT OF OTHER NONSENSE ABOUT HOW GREAT THEY ARE.
IN TALKING TO OTHER COMPANIES IT WAS PANFULLY
CLEAR THAT WE MADE A TERRIBLE MISTAKE CALLING HIM. LIKE
HIM, I NEVER WANT TO SEE OR HEAR FROM HIM AGAIN. HE WAS
THOROUGHLY ABUSIVE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. MY WIFE WAS VERY
UPSET WITH HIS OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE AND MANNER. WE JUST
HOPE THAT OUR CREDIT CARD (USED TO PAY HIM) IS SAFE AS
THERE IS NO TRUST HERE. DID YOU RATE HIM A+ OR NOT!!!!?

Upon arrival of the first visit at Mr. [redacted]'s I found the toilet completely empty of water, a screw driver wedged to keep fill valve shut off due to shut off valve not working. He instructed me the tank to bowl kit he replaced was leaking. I gave him a price to replace the tank to bowl kit as...

well as the supply for 300.00 dollars. I also offered to completely rebuild the toilet for 100.00 dollars more. Also offered to replace shut off valve for another 49.00 dollars at same time due to not working. He declined the complete rebuild as well as the shut off valve. Would only allow me to replace tank to bowl kit and supply. While replacing supply line I noticed shut off valve had rubber washer sticking out which I removed. I instructed customer that the washer in shut off valve was breaking apart and could cause his shut off valve to malfunction. He declined again. After repair I die tested the toilet for 15 minutes and it passed. I had Mr. [redacted] initial invoice stating he decline complete rebuild as well as shut off valve. He did contact us two days later to inform us his toilet was not shutting off. We scheduled to return at a date convenient to him. Upon my arrival I found the toilet shutting off properly but informed customer I felt the fill valve probably got rubber from shut off valve in it and caused the malfunction. He said he wanted to talk to landlord before authorizing more work. I instructed him we had a 79.00 service call due to not the tank to bowl kit or supply line causing problem. It was not a recall.  We did offer the first visit to replace old fill valve as well as broken shut off valve and he declined. We can not force people to replace parts even when needed. He declined the additional repairs and he holds the responsibility if they fail after our departure. Customer should look at invoice under notes and see what he initialed and signed. It's clear to see what we offered and he declined. However we would credit the 79.00 dollars towards replacement of the fill valve and shut off valve if the customers decides to authorize work as a courtesy for 10 days from the response. Thanks, [redacted].

Wolf came in to repair a toilet which evidently needed the flushing components replaced for a charge of $400.00 with a $20 coupon from advertising. He also drained a 5 year old hot water heater by hooking a hose to it & draining it for a while, at a charge of $200.00 less a discount of $50.00. Unfortunately, my wife signed the repair & paid in full by credit card. I called the next morning & asked for a partial refund due to the unreasonable & unfair pricing, but Wolf claimed it was within industry standards & had already given us a discount.

I've been using Smiley Plumbing for years. Walt has always been professional, friendly and trustworthy. Today he did my annual plumbing inspection on my 45 yr old home. He always lists any issues he sees, shows me what the problem is and gives me an estimate for the repair. He then prioritizes those repairs so I know what I should take care of sooner rather than later (sometimes much later). This helps since I'm retired and have to work the repairs into my budget. I do know that when the repair is made it is done correctly the first time.

Service provided was a Sunday water leak. Response was prompt after the phone call to Smiley Plumbing. The owner, Walt, was up front about not knowing exactly where the water leak might be. Walt, offer me two options, one to let him start digging for the leak or call in a locator with advance equipment for definite location. Chose the second options which happened the following day. Not one but two leaks were found by the locator. Walt spent the next day repairing the leaks. Giving me options on how to or not to proceed. He also arranged for a company to come out on that Sunday to start the restoration. Walt, help me in many directions since this was my first experience at a water leak. I would definitely recommend Smiley Plumbing for the skills, promptness, friendly, compassion and excellent clean up of the job.
